There is NO connection between “acts of service” and 9/11. The people that were killed on 9/11 wouldn’t have benefited from Obama’s mindless social do-goodism. They were in the cross-hairs of suicidal murderers, and all that saved anyone that day were the first responders, the passengers and crew of Flight 93, and God. Obama’s buddy Bloomberg has seen to it that the first responders and God are excluded from commemorations, and Obama didn’t go to Pennsylvania today, although Biden, Bush, and Clinton all did. Instead, Obama trotted his family down to “package” school food without being paid for it, which somehow makes it a “service project.”
The hijackers wanted to kill the parents of the children who will eat that food. Making them lunch wouldn’t have helped. Obama, I believe, really believes that 9/11 could have been avoided if we were all nicer to one another and to Muslims especially. He doesn’t understand what happened, he doesn’t care for American patriotic events, and he tries to fix things by acting like a Kindergarten child on a field trip.

I always love the pics in whatever kitchens where people are volunteering to cook, and clean-up after serving —– perfectly healthy people are sitting down eating! If people were really hungry, common sense would dictate you’d be first in line to volunteer to help out those facilities. Last year the ‘Bams painted. I didn’t see any of the homeowners in wheelchairs either. I follow the Ayn Rand school of charity. I give to those that need it, not those too lazy to get up off the sofa.

The funny thing is, I am related to a 9/11 physician who, like hundreds of other medical personal, was hurriedly transported into Manhattan to treat the wounded. The wiki claim is that over 6,000 were treated for injuries that day…but to hear my relatives take on that day, what he witnessed was many physicians and nurses waiting at the ready for patients who never arrived. What he experienced as the minutes and hours ticked by was the ghastly, growing realization that there were far more dead than anyone had expected.
On that morning, nobody had yet verified who, or what, had caused the carnage and destruction. Obama tried to make it sound as if hundreds of Muslims had made a choice to side with and come to the aid of Americans despite knowing the attackers were fellow Muslims.
The only muslims who voluntarily gave their lives on 9-11 were the highjackers. If any others died it was purely by accident. But hey, guess what? They went to paradise, too! We need to get cracking and shuffle all the rest there. Savages.

The attack on America on September 11, 2001, led to a patriotic revival of sorts. Flags appeared on cars and front porches. Ordinary working heroes of the day—rescue workers, police officers, and fire fighters—were celebrated and honored. A new seriousness marked the opening ceremonies of sports events. And the nation appeared to rally to George W. Bush’s vigorous call to arms against a new kind of totalitarian evil and threat to civilization.Much of this same spirit was also visible in classrooms and schoolsacross the country. If the goal of the suicidal hijackers was to sowseeds of self-doubt, despair, and defeat among the population, it appeared their efforts had backfired. Instead, new confidence in American values and institutions could be detected just about every where.
Yet among the leadership of the social studies profession, a quite different mood was apparent. In the initial response to 9/11 in the pages of Social Education (the premier journal of the National Council for the Social Studies), on the website of the National Education Association, and in countless other rapidly assembled curriculum supplements, a clear effort was made to temper patriotic expressions in class and stress instead a need for therapeutic healing. The main concern was for the psyches of children who may have been traumatized by the horrendous and dramatically televised carnage. As for teaching anything of political or historical relevance, two overriding themes were almost instantly brought front and center: a need for students to practice tolerance toward Muslims and Arabs, and a need for students to look more criticallyat U.S. policy in the Middle East in order to better understand the motives of the attackers (Education Development Center, 2002;Finn, 2001; Simpson, 2001).
This focus shocked many Americans, as was clear from the instantaneous and all but universal bad press the NEA earned when one of its lessons suggested that teachers avoid placing blame on anyone for the attacks (Sorokin, 2002; Feldman, 2002).
Yet no one should have been shocked. Anyone aware of the long-standing consensus among social studies professional elites on matters per-taining to world history or world cultures could have anticipated that these elites would do exactly what they did: harp on Americanin sensitivity toward Islam while muting concerns about the murderous intolerance of Islamic radicals toward America.
For two decades, and especially since the end of the Cold War, a global education ideology has taken hold in social studies education. This ideology, the international equivalent of separatist versions of multi-culturalism, is deeply suspicious of America’s institutions, values,and role in the world, while uncritically celebrating the institutions and values of most other societies. This ideology was clearly guiding many educators as they organized lessons and materials about 9/11 and its significance. Before detailing this ideology and its curricular manifestations, it needs to be pointed out that rank-and-file teachers usually soften the ideology as they cope with the practical tasks of teaching about the world beyond our shores. Furthermore, among the population at large, this critical view of America and nonjudgmental stance toward America’s enemies appear to have had little effect. If anything, the mindless mantra of tolerance at all costs may be triggering an understandable, if in some cases equally mindless, reaction against it.
NEA 9/11 Lesson Plan Draws Critics
NEW YORK — Students headed back to school will get one of the biggest history lessons of their lives on the first anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, but many parents are wondering which interpretation of events their children are going to get.
The National Education Association is compiling ideas for ways to teach Sept. 11 and some of them are coming under fire.
The program is called “Remember Sept. 11″ and the classroom lessons are available to millions of teachers. It’s even accessible on the Web. In the program, the NEA suggests kids think about tolerance and diversity and not blame all Arabs for the actions of a few.
“We have over 100 linked sites that I’m hoping will have lots and lots and lots of diverse opinions because public schools should be about teaching kids to analyze to think, to be critical thinkers, to not believe everything they read or everything they hear on the radio or TV,” said Jerald Newberry of the National Education Association.
But critics of the teachers union say some of the lesson plans place the blame on America, and suggest diversity and tolerance will overcome terrorism.
“They’re putting it out there and it’s got their political spin all over it. The sentiment is what is wrong with America, and that’s what I object to,” said Jan La Rue of Concerned Women of America.
Among the messages on the Web site is advice from the Red Cross: “You will not be effective if you purposely or inadvertently take one side over another.”
Another snippet: “Model respect for and tolerance of all the views and feelings that your students share.”
One plan previously on the site suggested that the teachers discuss “historical instances of American intolerance” and cites the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II as an example.
After many objections, the NEA said it removed that link, but there are dozens of other lesson plans available to teachers…..

The dude on the far left, the one up close to the table and crimping a cover over a food container with both hands while passing the time talking with the other people? Looks like he’s done that before, for longer than it takes to snap the picture, and could be an okay guy. He photographs like one.
Obama, standing away from the table, awkwardly leaning forward and reaching out to scoop up some chicken a la slop to spread on rice – looks like he’s worried about getting his crisp white apron dirty. And since he knew he was going to a food kitchen, to work with food, what’s up with the long sleeves and watch.

The point is, this is a staged foto op, we all know that. But even though staged to make Obama look good, it captures the essence of Obama – awkward, aloof, and in over his head no matter what he does – outside of giving a speech.
So here we are 10 years later and still there are 28 pages of the 9/11 report which haven’t been released! This video sheds a lot of light on what those 28 pages might have in them.. Too bad we can’t look at the REAL cause of 9-11 but thanks to Sandy Pants Berger a lot of history leading up to this has been lost, but I guess you wouldn’t know that since you obviously think Afghanis are being blamed. Don’t you know the perpetrators were from Saudi Arabia, United Emirites, Egypt and only trained in Afghanistan? They were funded by our Saudi friends and non of them were ignorant or uneducated.
