Turkish PM: “Israel Can’t Do Whatever It Wants In The Eastern Mediterranean, Our Navy Attack Ships Can Be There At Any Moment”…

More saber rattling from Erdogan.
Comments & pings are closed.(Haaretz) — Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday Israel could not do whatever it wanted in the eastern Mediterranean and that Turkish warships could be there at any moment.
Erdogan’s comments, made during a visit to Tunisia as part of a tour of Arab countries, were the latest in a war of words between the two regional powers, whose relations have deteriorated since Israel killed nine Turks aboard an aid ship headed for Gaza last year.
“Israel cannot do whatever it wants in the eastern Mediterranean. They will see what our decisions will be on this subject. Our navy attack ships can be there at any moment,” Erdogan told a news conference shortly after arriving in Tunis.
Turkey downgraded diplomatic ties with Israel and halted defense-related trade after the Jewish state confirmed last week it would not apologise for the raid on the Mavi Marmara ship which had attempted to break Israel’s blockade on Gaza.
Turkey and Israel had tried to mend fences before the publication two weeks ago of a UN report that deemed the blockade of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip a legal means to stem the flow of arms to Palestinians but also said Israel had used unreasonable force.

This loudmouth Nasser wannabe thinks Israel will sit back and allow Turkey to do what??
Tayyip yip yahoo, look out for Netanyahu!
Turkey, the new Iran.
Trust the U.N. to keep the conflict going:
“unreasonable force”
Someone is bashing your brains out, and you’re supposed to do what? Offer him a cookie? Ask what his favorite color is?
Israel to turkey: “Kiss out What?”
….and your navy attack ships can be on the bottom 30 minutes after arrival.
Do these people honestly think Israel can be pushed around!
Time to kick these barbarians out of NATO and give Israel the seat.
Lets hope the USS Ronald Reagan will be on its way there (without odumbos knowledge of course) shhhh
Turkey has the 6th largest standing army in the world. And as a NATO member they have pretty much all the latest weapons. They have a larger navy than Israel and they are well armed as well.
The Generals need to step up and start turning back the clock on this insane Arab Spring

I know of at least 2 Navy ships loaded with US Marines that have been floating on the Med (having had their deployment time bumped by 2 months) since before the start of Obama’s/Hillary’s “Kinetic Operation” in Libya, and are bored to death…
If Israel actually did do what she wanted, the arab world would be glass.
Thank you Steve – reality hurts.
I’ve no idea what Erdogan really is about? If he thinks for a NY minute he’ll be the new caliphate, he’d best think twice. Hasn’t Israel threatened to arm the Kurds….they could keep his stomach upset for a long time, with a lingering rash to boot. Funny about antiacids, they calm the stomach but destroy the good bacteria.
Screw U Turkey in Turkey!!
I ‘can’ do a lot of things. I won’t do a lot of things since I am halfway intelligent, and interested in self-preservation.
Free Constantinople!!!!! End the Turkish occupation of Asia Minor!!!!
Greece and Israel have allied against the Turk.
Well, just be careful of those Israeli attack submarines, Erdogan..
‘The day the Twin Towers collapsed in Manhattan, September 11, 2001, IDF submarine “Leviathan” of the advanced Dolphin model was on a training sail somewhere at sea – the exact location of Israel’s submarines will always remain classified, even dozens of years after the fact.
At one point, the submarine rose to the surface to take a break. The sub’s commander, then-Lt. Colonel Oded, looked through the periscope and saw a calm, blue sea. However, one crew member soon informed him that he just saw the New York towers collapsing on television. Oded’s first reaction was laughter: What kind of movie are you watching there? How could the Twin Towers collapse? Yet soon after, the official announcement arrived from Israel.
The training session ended abruptly. Orders started to pour in from Navy headquarters. The submarine went into high alert and sank into the water for a lengthy period of several weeks. “In such case,” Oded says, “nobody knows where you are except for your crew and your direct commanders. Even your family doesn’t know. They don’t know what you’re doing or when you’ll be back. They know nothing.”’

Too bad so sad.. you can’t be careful of them.. Istanbul can disappear in an instant..
Steve is right regarding Turkey’s military power. Israel does not want to have a confrontation with Turkey! That being said, it is interesting that Turkey has purchased a lot of their defense systems from Israel. And, of course, when you are the designer of anything, you know better than anyone how it works and, more importantly, why it works the way it does.
Tukey’s response is sooo out of character. And it’s sudden indignation is puzzling. It’s been over a year since this incident happened. The timing of this sabre rattling is very curious.
S. Wolf, you beat me to it. Those subs are strongly suspected of having Harpoon missiles with a very special modified warhead. Israel is going to be confronted by (at least) Egypt, Iran, and Turkey in the near future. Might as well cut the head off of one now while Egypt is disorganized.
And by ‘cut the head off’ I mean a Harpoon right up Erdogan’s ass.
Turkey is certainly doing ALOT of saber rattling. I hope Israel keeps an eye out, cause the middle east is getting even more unfriendly by the day.
He’s playing to the Arabs. Honor and all that. Swinging the dick as they are all prone to do in these circle jerks and being as steeped as they are in male hegemonic culture. Can’t appear weak to the brothers. We might be seeing the slow crunching juggernaut of tension developing into something more serious in near real time. Ah, the modern age!
Erdogan’s days are numbered. I have Turkish friends who love their western freedom and despise this vile little man.
Ataturk remains their Hero! And all of my Turk friends love Israel and the Jewish people.
There will soon be a genuine move back to democracy in Turkey (unlike the “Arab Spring and Sharia) and Erdogan and his Mullah’s will be hanging from the walls of the parliament!
Turkey has had some problems with radical islam which they are not mentioning.
Big talkers are little doers! Bring it! Git some! Israel has a better Navy and Air Force, UNLESS Obongo helps the Turks with intel (which is not unthinkable), the Turkish Navy will be found at the bottom of the Mediterranean.
Turkey is like the guy in the bar fight who starts off saying ” I want to warn you, I know karate”.
I hope they send warships and Israel sends them to the bottom.
Both of them
Israel under USA skirt, not for long ..
And Israeli subs can be there HALF a moment before them. And they would never know what hit ‘em.
Turkey the 6th. largest army? The first Bush during desert storm told us Iraq had the 4th. strongest army in the world.
It was so bad the US army was using bulldozers to bury the Iraqis alive . It was a complete Joke.
Israel has Neuclear weapons and Neuclear submarines. If the Arab nations try to attack as one force Israel may need to launch her nukes to preserve the lives of there citizens.
Ergodan is going down the path of Hitler trying to blame the Jews for his problems.
The lack of threats made to Ergodan from Israel should not be considered fear or weakness. These are not Eroupean jews who go to the Slaughter.
These are fierce Jews who will kick the crap out of any country that wage war on Israel.

Turkey has the 6th largest standing army in the world. And as a NATO member they have pretty much all the latest weapons. They have a larger navy than Israel and they are well armed as well.
You also forget that 90 % of the Turkish army is made up of conscripts who get a grand total of 6 weeks basic training. As far as latest weapons, I can attest to small arms and the like, but they’ve still got NATO hand-me-down tanks etc.
I lived in Turkey (my wife is Turkish) and I worked with the Turkish military during my time in the US Air Force. I saw very little from them that was intimidating or impressive. Turkey would definitely have its ass handed to it by the IDF. No doubt about it.
Erdoclown has succeeded in taking a perfectly good country and turning it into a shithole, which is part for pisslamic leaders these days. I’m just glad that my wife and family are out of there.
Alot of turkeys get stuffed in late November.
Their Navy is huge, but their Air Force isn’t modernized (F-16′s can’t handle F15′s, let alone F15I’s).
Turkey still has freedom of the press, which often goes after the Islamists, but all other bastions of Kamalism have fallen. Many urban Turks still hate Arabs and loathe the concept of being leader of Arabs rather than being an EU member, but most villagers are ratarded Islamists just like Erdo. The Kurds are getting stronger as Kurdish Iraq gets more independent, and this only helps them.
