When do people without health insurance die? Isn’t it the law that a hospital must so what it can to save a persons life whether thy have insurance or not? Or is it better to have a government system where if you have a long-term disease you may very well die from it before you finally have your appointment?
Oh, and we cheer for executions? You mean it is better to murderers as poor misguided victims of society and give them the opportunity to kill a number of people rather than consider them as the dangerous scum that they are and remove them from the picture all together?
And the left considers murders as some special protected class but are willing to kill an innocent fetus in the name of women’s rights?
And Christians are against charity? Where did he come up with that? Willingly giving money to those in need is charity. Being taxed to bankruptcy to finance a system that encourages sloth is extortion.

It doesn’t matter if you committed a crime, or not. Your guilt or innocence depends upon which identity group you belong to. So then, Progressivism can be defined as the quest for perfection by applying different rules to different people. The diminishment of Christianity by any means (and truth is irrelevant) is necessary because it provides cultural and moral standards which communism seeks to replace. I am saying if you are a Christian living in one of the richest countries in the world and you knew someone was living paycheck to paycheck, barely able to buy food, you wouldn’t want a system in place to help them if they broke their leg or got hurt in a car accident? I don’t think that sounds like Christian behavior. Christians, according to the Bible, are supposed to want to give more than they receive. I think Jesus would be ashamed of that attitude. Well, I think the poor in this country are doing a lot better than the poor in other countries. And I am not naive enough to think that any government could be 100% percent honest. And I think we’ve been throwing more money at fighting useless wars lately than worrying about poverty. And I think Europe is very appreciative of the aid we gave them after World War II when they were starving. The same could be said for a lot of other countries. Nothing is perfect. And while the War on Poverty was not perfect, I think programs like Head Start and WIC have amazing things for women and children in need.
But, if you are a Christian, than you should always want to give more to the poor. That’s what Jesus did. Maybe you’re not. I’m not. I just agree with Bill Maher calling them out. Christians seem to thing they are morally better than the rest of us, and their hypocritical behavior often says otherwise. I don’t think most Christians even know what Jesus was about, they just want to believe they get to go to heaven when they die. They use their fantasy as an excuse to be selfish, an excuse to get other people to follow them, and as a reason for their cruelty. Like all religions, Christians are a corrupt group of humans making asses of themselves. I appreciate Bill Maher for pointing that out. And I think helping the poor is never a tireless job. But that’s just me.
Also, the scripture is not just for Christians. It’s a book that can be read an interpreted by scholars like any other book. I know the Bible fairly well because in some ways it is an important historical document. And technically most of it belonged to the Jewish faith first… but I digress. I was just pointing out that the Bible makes a lot of the points I was making. And I like Jesus, I don’t think he would mind me fighting for his cause to help the poor.

But, (1) no. “thou shalt not kill” is a mistranslation popularized by the KJV & Douay-Rheims versions, but the word is closer to “murder” than “kill.” (also, right after that in Exodus the Bible is giving instances where killing is called for)
