Issa Announces Congressional Probe Into Obama’s Dealings With Solyndra…

Popcorn time.

(The Hill) — Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Tuesday that his committee plans to investigate government loan programs to private corporations in light of allegations of improper dealings between the White House and failed energy company Solyndra and wireless startup LightSquared.

“I want to see when the president and his cronies are picking winners and losers. . . it wasn’t because there were large contributions given to them,” the chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee said Tuesday morning on CSPAN.

Issa said the committee was looking at whether it was improper for members of Congress or White House staff to select companies eligible for subsidized government loans when those companies could give campaign donations. Loan programs have been a popular tool to provide funding for popular industries — like tech, green energy, and American auto companies – at more favorable terms than could be secured privately.

The Obama administration has been defending itself against criticism by Republicans that it exerted improper influence to the aid of both companies.

It’d be more encouraging if Issa’s crew had made one iota of progress in all the months he’s been working on the corruptOcrats. All talk and no convictions.

Yeah, they’ll get the DOJ to investigate itself again.
In any other time, this would be the case that prompted impeachment hearings.
Hopefully the investigation will be public and televised.
They don’t have the nerve to get to the real truth, but I wish them well.

If Issa weren’t so damn busy I’d draft his ass for the GOP 2012 POTUS pick.

I heard some of Issa this morning on the Wa. Journal..I don’t have much faith he will really have any heads rolling, he said regarding Fast/Furious that they were just dumb, did dumb things …blah blah blah.

Time will tell…but I’m not hoping anymore when it comes to him getting anything much done.

On the other hand, considering what information has already been made public; ties to 2 investors, the White House visitor logs, ties to the Wookie, testimony from some of the employees, Obama’s investments in LightSpeed, you never know where this could go.

I heard one pundit already call it “criminal”.

Of course the rest of the MSM will get behind Obama, and declare it a racist witch hunt. I can hear Rev. Al already… “if he wasn’t black, this wouldn’t be happening”.

American needs to see that we are still a nation with ordered liberty and fairness…restore integrity…we also want to see a lot of these scum doing the perp walk with nice silver bracelets. Never-ever has there been a group of thugs in the White House like this—beyond words and the sycophants in the media enabled this to happen…unforgivable
Instead of the Messiah we got the Pariah–the MSM needs to be held accountable and the REPUBS had better know that we want results—convictions

These “sunzah “of bitches answer to no one right now—put your “BOOT ON THEIR NECK” ISSA

Anyone get the feeling this is all a scam? On one hand we have an administration hell-bent on destroying the country; stealing from the taxpayers, breaking the bank and yes – even killing people (BP Agent Brian Terry). And on the other hand, we supposedly have the opposition party who makes a little noise here and there but nothing ever becomes of it.

I submit there is almost no difference between the Demoncrats and the mainstream Republicans – both are walking away with a shit ton of our money and just laughing their sick fucking heads off about it. Both parties need to be destroyed to save our nation. Oh yeak, the Repukes will co-opt a few Tea Party planks to get elected and then they will be off to the races fucking us over again.

  15. ThomNJ says:

Either Issa is not up for the struggle or he has too few allies to make an effective investigation and results that stick. Nothing will happen once again, and it is mostly because of the color of barky’s skin.

Outrage is not an effective result. Shaking one’s head at the “dumb decisions” is not an effective result. Impeachment, at the very least, would be somewhat effective.

At my favorite leftist website for fun reading, DU, Solyndra is barely talked about. And of course the few comments there are are along the line of “The Bush White House approved it” (false) And my personal favorites that are along the line of “Why are they investigating this when they refuse to have investigations into Bush’s illegal wars?” LOL. But the fact that they do not want to talk about this speaks VOLUMES.

In a conference call this morning with Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Darrell Issa, reporters were told the Attorney General in Mexico has confirmed at least 200 murders south of the border happened as a result of Operation Fast and Furious. Eleven crimes in the United States have been linked to Operation Fast and Furious up to this point.

Somebody needs to go to jail.
Meanwhile, USAG Eric Holder makes excuses that “he didn’t know” until recently about the full extent of “Fast and Furious.” Now, who would except that answer from Alberto Gonzales ? Nobody, and nobody should except “he didn’t know” from Eric Holder, either.

Will President Obama fire anybody involved in this operation ?

what has ever became of that? he was getting too close to the stinkiness of the cesspool of the obuttma regime and quickly shut up. the sinkhole closes in on itself and leaves no trace.

Looks like Drudge finally got around to posting the article… in big red letters.

I also believe that this is just more political theater, but… we of the internet patrol are doing more research than Issa is. This has the possibility of being the issue that hurts Obama.
But then I also said the same thing about Fast n Furous.

    The Solyndra Fraud
The solar-energy company was a con game.

The Solyndra debacle is not just Obama-style crony socialism as usual. It is a criminal fraud. That is the theory that would be guiding any competent prosecutor’s office in the investigation of a scheme that cost victims — in this case, American taxpayers — a fortune.

Fraud against the United States is one of the most serious felony offenses in the federal penal law. It is even more serious than another apparent Solyndra violation that has captured congressional attention: the Obama administration’s flouting of a statute designed to protect taxpayers.

FYI…..The following is reason enough for Issa to pursue what happened.

Sept 20 (Reuters) – Solyndra LLC’s chief executive and chief financial officer will invoke their Fifth Amendment rights and decline to answer any questions put to them at a Congressional hearing on Friday, according to letters from their attorneys obtained by Reuters.

In the letters sent to the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, attorneys for Solyndra CEO Brian Harrison and CFO W. G. Stover said they advised their clients not to provide testimony during the hearings.
