Reuters: Solyndra CEO & CFO Will Plead The Fifth And Decline To Answer Questions During Congressional Hearing On Friday…

It’s almost like they have something to hide.
Comments & pings are closed.Sept 20 (Reuters) — Solyndra LLC’s chief executive and chief financial officer will invoke their Fifth Amendment rights and decline to answer any questions put to them at a Congressional hearing on Friday, according to letters from their attorneys obtained by Reuters.
In the letters sent to the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, attorneys for Solyndra CEO Brian Harrison and CFO W. G. Stover said they advised their clients not to provide testimony during the hearings.
The bankrupt company’s $535 million federal loan guarantee is being investigated by the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Harrison is represented by Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and Stover is represented by Keker & Van Nest.
Solyndra’s offices were raided by the FBI two days after the company filed for bankruptcy, although the FBI did not say what prompted the raid.

Perhaps that will be sufficient cause to expand the investigation, we shall see. So far I have been rather disappointed with Issa, by now I was wanting to start seeing orange jumpsuits from some of the investigations that fell into his lap.
I would be afraid of the Obama Regime as well…
Actually the only thing I am surprised about so far is that one of the company officers hasn’t been found after a suspicious suicide, just to drive home that a little jail time is much better than a lot of coffin time. It’s the Chicago way.
These money laundering green-f*cks know where that money came from, who gave it to them and how they were supposed to pay it back come election time. It was nothing but a slush fund set up for these criminal scum bags that squat in America’s WH.
I have reported them to Attackwatch.
Pleading the fifth: Refusing to answer a question on the grounds that it may incriminate the witness.
In the end it is pretty much an admission that there is some criminal guilt to be gleaned from what transpired with this deal, at the very least on the part of the CEO & CFO.
If it can be determined beforehand that there is criminal guilt to be pinned to this administration, I say give them both immunity as witnesses cannot refuse testimony on the grounds that it could incriminate other people. That is unless they wish to be jailed like Judith Miller was from the New York Times.
Boy am I glad I invested in those popcorn futures.
They are being advised by Holder.
Throw them in jail and waterboard them.
They are declining to testify because they are GUILTY, and they also know how involved Obama is.
They were paid back with taxpayer money to make up for their campaign contributions. Obama and the Wookie are up to their necks in this and they are covering for him.
The White House wants to move the laid off employees of Solyndra to the front of the line for retraining in addition to getting unemployment. This is spitting in the face of all the other laid off American employees. It is a blatant payoff and it is being done to buy silence. This administration is vile.
Pleading the 5th is almost the same thing as admitting guilt. It is time to impeach Obama, not that that will go anywhere with Harry Reid in charge of the Senate. We are doomed!
What Rufus said…
beat me to it Rufus! waterboard the illegal muzzie in the whitehouse too, might be one way to get him to tell the truth.
I’m not sure they have the luxury of the 5th amendment as government contractors (those who are spending public money).
This is not a criminal or civil court, this is an investigation. This is a review by the people that have funded their venture. By accepting money from the US government, they are bound to a certain behavior, by law.
Their actual trial will occur later.
.
How much you wanna bet we hear about a few suicides or mysterious disappearances?
@ gastorgrab
The only reason to plead the Fifth is that your testimony will incriminate you in a crime.
That makes this a CRIMINAL investigation.
Or, of course they are covering for someone… I wonder who?
You’re next Obama! Can’t wait to see you in an orange jump-suit!
Crook and Kenyan tyrant.
I agree with the oft-mentioned sentiment that this will go nowhere, partly because of our bought and sold government but more so because John Q. Public has a very short memory.
funny how Van Jones is not mentioned here. I bet he could answer alot of questions.
Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is still in vogue (just not in the military).
I’ve sent this to Congressman Issa on their whistleblower line. Maybe this will help.

Why is the so called president of the United States allowed to commit fraud and be an accessory to murders in Fast and Furious, and still be able to remain in office? According to Andrew McCarthy Obama has committed a 30 year prison sentence felony, it he did what is said he did, and changed the terms of that loan. It’s fraud committed against the United States.

To drive the double standard home here I’ll mention the Watergate break in was for the purpose of intel. gathering @ the Dem National Headquarters. Where as this scandal is about Democrats plundering the public’s treasure.
Move along people nothing to see here…
Just thought of Whitewater and Susan McDougal in all of this.
Let’s see if these guys have the same love for the O as she did for the Clintons. I have a feeling the answer will be a resounding NO and with immunity would be sing like canaries.
Watch for Colbert or Stewart to head up to Washington about that time and act like a couple of fools and degrade themselves to protect Obama and deflect interest in the hearing.
Anyone who answers questions in an investigation is out of their mind. Just ask Scooter Libby or Martha Stewart. Both were innocent of the chargers but convicted by their answers.
There are more laws and regulations than anyone can keep track of and it is estimated that we each commit, on average, three felonies a day.
If you are against the 5th, you are against the Constitution.
