Tony Bennett: America To Blame 9/11, “They Flew The Plane In, But We Caused It Because We Were Bombing Them And They Told Us To Stop”…

Senile old kook.

(ABC News) — American icon Tony Bennett took to the airwaves at Sirius Radio to promote his new album, “Duets II,” but it’s what he said about war, peace, terrorism, and who was to blame for the Sept. 11 terror attacks that could get people talking.

Sitting down with Howard Stern on Monday, the 85-year-old singer dodged questions about his sex life and prior drug use. He did so with a laugh, but matters about the U.S. military and 9/11 were fair game, and on these topics the Grammy winner held little back.

Beginning with his service in World War II, Bennett said that his experiences as a teenager in combat forever changed his position on war.

“I’m anti-war,” he said. “It’s the lowest form of human behavior.”

Stern then asked Bennett about how America should deal with terrorists, specifically those responsible for the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.

“But who are the terrorists? Are we the terrorists or are they the terrorists? Two wrongs don’t make a right,” Bennett said.

In a soft-spoken voice, the singer disagreed with Stern’s premise that 9/11 terrorists’ actions led to U.S. military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“They flew the plane in, but we caused it,” Bennett responded. “Because we were bombing them and they told us to stop.”

Who were we bombing on Sept. 10, 2001? Is he complaining about the Iraq no-fly zone? But I thought Iraq wasn’t responsible for 9/11 – as any anti-war person would say. More likely he’s old and got his dates confused, getting cause and effect reversed.

I grew up with my family listening to this guy. My aunts and uncles had his music playing and it brought back memories of family gatherings to hear it again. Now, like so many other entertainers, every time I hear this asshole singing, I will think of this headline.

What a stupid thing to say. I wonder if he felt the same way about Pearl Harbor and the U-boat sinking of US merchant ships off the East coast and the Gulf?

As close as you are, Tony, to reaping your reward you should be careful about opening your mouth and revealing your ignorance. 9/11/2001 was caused by humans who thought God was in their hatred. Trouble for those humans is that they were confused about which one was which. It wasn’t the Creator that was in their hatred. The Creator did not create us to kill each other and God is not in the hatred by which we tell ourselves that it’s okay to kill others. God created us so that some of us, those who have learned of Him, sought Him, and, in finding Him real, placed their trust in Him, might have fellowship with Him forever more. Only God offers us hope of more than a grave and that offer is available solely on the basis of what He did for us on the cross.

    1. Does this person have a pulse? If yes, proceed to step two.
    2. Is this person one of us?

If 2 = no, then it’s either KABOOM-a-roonie or begin to remove Infidel head from shoulders with rusty spoon, singing praises to virgin-fetish-demon-god.

Sooooo…….Mr. Bennett finally feels that he “must” share HIS view(s) pertaining to the 9-11 terroristic slaughter. We caused it…….WE CAUSED IT!!!!!! They told us to stop bombing them and WE didn’t listen and continued to bomb them, sooooo…..they had no choice but to retaliate by the means of knocking down the twin towers. Well…..my heart doesn’t go out to Mr. Bennett for his heart wrenching interview, BUT, my IRE certainly does. To add insult to injury, Mr. Stern then bolsters this opinion from hades and makes the comment that Mr. Bennett expresses some “valid” points. I’m sorry folks but I’m going to have to call Bovine Scatology on these two sordid individuals. I never have been a fan of Mr. Bennett and the same has always been true of Mr. Stern as well. There is no way that I could miss either of you any less, BUT,…….the question does arise…….could either of you have made it to the pinnacle of which you now reside had we not gone to war and been successful in doing so? Huh? Yeah, that’s what I thought!
There’s so much more that could be said about Mr. Bennett at this juncture…….alas, none of it would be good or praise!
