Communist Party Chief Backs Obama’s Jobs Bill…
Obama reported to be ecstatic.
(People’s World/Sam Webb) — The American Jobs Act is the leading edge of the jobs struggle. It is the ground on which millions can be drawn into the fight to create jobs and rebuild the nation’s infrastructure.
The AFL-CIO is embracing and promoting it. Others will come on board too as the jobs campaign gathers momentum.
The Jobs Act, introduced by President Obama in a well-crafted and passionate address to a joint session of Congress, is not as far reaching as some other jobs proposals. The plans put forward by the Congressional Black Caucus, Progressive Caucus, AFL-CIO and Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., are more ambitious, and we recognize that they contain more in-depth solutions. But the hard fact is that none of these stand a chance of congressional approval given the current balance of forces in Congress, and in the House in particular.
The president’s proposal does. The various provisions in the act appeal to a broad constituency, including political moderates in both parties.
Even for this plan the going will be tough. The Republicans, while initially making conciliatory noises, are determined not to give the president a positive record to run on. They figure a president with no accomplishments, especially in a period of crisis, will not be returned to office.
That such a posture will hurt millions of people who are already hurting is of no concern to them.
In fact, in their view, the worse that economic conditions are, the better are their chances of winning back the White House and Congress in 2012.
Irresponsible yes, cynical yes, even diabolical, but as a political calculus, it contains some truth. Unless the American people are convinced otherwise, they could easily blame the president for the economic mess when they go into the voting booth next year. Good policy positions and eloquent speeches are seldom enough to attract voters in a time of crisis.

Communism is evil to me Dan as it robs people of their own personal choices and freedom and initiative. Communism controls the means of production, not private individuals. There is a reason people try hard to get out of commie countries, whereas in a constitutional republic as we are you can leave at any time. There is also no private property in commie countries. And once the central planners control all wealth, there is no freedom. I’d rather take capitalism – real capitalism, not crony capitalism. And free markets which haven’t existed here in the US in a long while.

Call me crazy, but I will judge an ideology based on it’s results as tested in REAL WORLD examples. Communism, EVERYWHERE it has been instituted, has resulted in some of the most unmitigated evil the world has ever seen. It couldn’t be more illustrative when you look at what could be described as the Korean social experiment which shows the stark difference between the communist model of the north and that of democracy/freedom in the south.
The observable results are what matters and since it’s creation, communism has shown itself to be an evil ideology that SHOULD be seen as similar to those I sighted earlier.
Communism has been a pandoras box, opened by Marx and Engels to the detriment & demise of tens of millions of human beings across the globe and a benefit to no one.
Having a relative that worked in a failed communist country, they will tell you how Evil Communism really is. It sucks all drive, ambition, creativity and motivation from ones inner self.

There has never been a country claiming to be communist that was nothing but a dictatorship or oligarchy. All governments claiming to be communist so far have treated the people like absolute crap, controlling the flow of information and basic human rights. I am not defending any current government that is communist.
If any of you have actually read the Communist Manifesto, you would have to agree nothing has come close to that definition of Communism. It’s a total pipe dream, but the actual idea is not evil at all. It’s really a cute idea, the idea you can trust people to act smart and do their best to benefit everyone. The truth is, people need others to decide for them. It’s just nice when the people have something resembling control of who’s in charge.
It amazes me how many people react with blind hate or ignorance over so many topics. The Tea Party wouldn’t exist without it.
