There isn’t or a perpetual class here in the U.S. Anyone can make it big and anyone can crash, there isn’t an aristocracy here that is permanently entrenched. Being rich is transitory and many who are wealthy weren’t that way maybe 10 years ago. That’s the beauty of Capitalism, if you work hard enough you can make it. I’ve always wondered if private citizens needed the blessing of their government to defend their nation.
The government normally regulates civilian conduct under a defined set of circumstances; peacetime. But the second amendment recognizes a citizens right to defend themselves from the government aggression, and although it isn’t specifically enumerate, from a foreign aggressor. In a state of war, i’m not sure we have to clear anything with the government first. We can shoot back if we have the means.
The US government was created as a mutual-defense pact between free people who all wanted to do their own thing. Failing it’s primary task, can government restrict or regulate the right of the people to defend themselves?
What does everyone think? Do we have an inalienable right to defend our inalienable rights?

I thought colleges and universities were places to earn a degree to allow one to become a professional in the career chosen, and to use that degree to make a living … and money … in this capitalist society. Evidently it’s to be used to earn money for the government to give to your lazy neighbors. We need more community colleges, I guess, instead of elite universities that teach socialism.

I miss typos all the time myself and don’t personally care, but to be honest I try to get others to read your site, and on more than on occasion, resistant skeptics have had their skepticism validated in their minds by minor typos and grammatical things.

Most of the academic elite are useless because they do not live in the real world. They live in their closed fantasy world that all of their rant are real and true, without any reality. I have found the best course of action is when a college professor makes a public statement is to ignore it as a fantasy.
This is not as ironic as the anti Israel Queers for Palestine groups. Talk about false consciousness, or no consciousness.
