Obama’s DOE Mulls $6.5 Billion In “Green Energy” Loans To Create 283 Jobs…
Which comes out to almost $23 million per job.
(IBD) — The Department of Energy is set on Thursday to announce whether nine federal loan guarantees amounting to $6.5 billion for green energy projects will get final approval.
The number of full-time, permanent jobs they would create? According to the DOE’s own figures, a grand total of 283. That is nearly $23 million per job.
It’s also a drop in the bucket toward the five million green jobs President Obama promised as a candidate in 2008.
It’s not clear how many of the loans will get approved. The DOE refused comment prior to the Thursday announcements.
In the last week, the DOE has approved three loans totaling $624 million and creating 110 permanent jobs. But two other big loan projects totaling nearly $2 billion reportedly fell through.

There are 16,100 Federal employees and 100,000 contract employees at the Department of Energy. All could be laid-off in 2013.

Here is how we can erase our national debt. Claim that we will not create $1 million green jobs at $23 million per job. This will save us $23,000,000,000,000 (23 trillion). Apply that to our national bebt of $15 trillion and you will have a surplus of $8 trillion. Declare tax holiday and watch the economy take off.

Green energy is a total bust
Imagine what a real entrepreneur could do with $23 million.
The R&D for one of our computer chips small ones used in things like touch screen control for tablets and phones runs a about $25 million per chip.
Lot of chip designers, test engineers, and other related jobs are funded out of the $25 million.
Cut the D.O.E. off at the knees.

It’s as if Solyndra never happened. The Obama Administration is giving $737 million to a Tonopah Solar, a subsidiary of California-based SolarReserve. PCG is an investment partner with SolarReserve. Nancy Pelosi’s brother-in-law happens to be the number two man at PCG.

Give the $737 million to the actual taxpayers of America – heck, divide it equally – cut it in half – and then get the government to quit all bailouts and leave us alone – and I will bet that a great number of folks getting the cash will actually start businesses and do more to stimulate the economy and jobs than the asshats in our government.
