Palin Says Cain Is “The Flavor Of The Week”…

Palin: “You could say, with all due respect, that he is the flavor of the week.”

I’ve been wresting with this trying to decide if she was taking a shot at him or not and I’m still not sure. What do you guys think?

A shot at Cain, maybe so. But I’ll bet he takes the high road, and turns to some more positive.

A lesson most of the GOP candidates could learn.

No, I don’t think it was a put-down. I think she was describing exactly what the media does to a front runner, if only for a while. The media is overtly attempting to bring a honkie RINO to the top so they can play the racist card throughout the election cycle. It’s all they’ve got left.

Disappointing. I don’t think it was meant as an insult, but she can be a king-maker. Think of the groundswell for Cain had Palin endorsed him.

She cant win, but Herman can.

Don’t think Sarah was taking any potshots, but she could’ve at least gotten his name right.

  15. Axel says:
    September 28, 2011 at 10:20 am

She is right every few weeks someone is the new favorite, rising star etc. Because she followed up and explained why “Herb” is popular in this moment I didn’t interpret it as a bash. If she said it and then immediately moved on to change the subject then I think it would have been a hit. Herb clearly isn’t her candidate, that is mostly what I got out of it.

It is funny how everyone was gung-ho Perry, then he suddenly became a dud, and the next day everyone was on the Cain bandwagon. Who knows who it will be once Cain screws up.

I’d have to struggle to find a positive meaning for that statement. It sounds like someone who is trying to make light of Cain’s credentials to keep her options open. If she endorses him or even lends credence to his candidacy, he would be a tougher foe for her.

  18. Georgia Patriot says:

No, I don’t think it was a shot against Cain because everything she said after that was very positive. After the straw poll Cain has been the flavor of the week. Now it’s time for Cain supporters need to make him the GOP candidate.

If she doesn’t know his first name and calls him Herb 3 times, it’s hard to believe that she knows much about him or respects him.

That said, I don’t think she was insulting him.

Fox is failing us all and I’m watching them less and less now that they have drifted so far Left and started to play ball with Zero. Palin would love a big 7-figure gig there so she’s gettin’ along to go along. She’s no saint.

  26. Dave says:

The phrase “with all due respect” was invented to insult someone, while appearing not to.

We can add that to the list of similar phrases like “it goes without saying” and then saying it anyway. Or “I could care less” when really, they mean they couldn’t care less.

With all due respect to Palin, she was insulting Cain.

I watched Greta’s interview of Palin and I actually thought what Palin said about Cain was a positive for him. She was of course reflecting on the amazing bump Herman received in a Florida Straw poll. The comment she made was about various polls that seem to differ dramatically from probably were they were taken or how they were worded. Just a couple of weeks ago Perry was riding high and Bachmann was loosing ground. The GOP Convention is around 10 months away and a lot can happen during that time period.

Of late after reading up on Herman Cains bio or wikipedia, the man is clearly no lightweight when it comes to the economy and the business world. It is definitely a must read.

He also took on President Bill Clinton in a townhall meeting over Hillarycare that left Clinton somewhat stunned when Cain was able to argue his position against Hillarycare effectively towards the Presidents probing questions directed at Cain. Cain would go on to be a cause-celeb in crushing Hillarycare– you should be able to find it on you tube.

The man definitely has an impressive resume that runs circles around Obamas in my opinion.

Come on guys what is the group that Sarah dislikes the most? The l;ame stream media! Who builds up and then tears down the GOP candidates on a weekly basis? First it was Bachmann, then Romney as the fall back guy. Then Perry showed up and took a dive. Now the lsm is talking about getting Christie to run. Also, remember Trump? She was just saying that give it a couple of weeks and the CBC and lsm will find something mean and nasty on ol “Herb” and he will plumment too. The only person I have ever heard Sarah bash openly is BHO which is fine by me. I like Cain and will vote for him in a heart beat but let’s face it he isn’t expected to stay out front by most political analysts and he has no ground game or network. The big donors will not come to his aid until he has slain Romney and Perry. If the debates don’t narrow down the numbers he might never get that chance. Huntsman, Newt, Santorum and Bachmann are through and need to be weeded out so that the remaing few can discuss their plans for the job and solidify their positions on the big issues.

I think it was a shot, both at Cain and the entire republican circus.
Bachman is not doing very well.

Frankly Cain is the only one running who can lead and understands the danger of Islam, or has not sold out America
for Islamic votes like some governors have.

“While I stand by my opposition to the interference of sharia law into the American legal system, I remain humble and contrite for any statements I have made that might have caused offense to Muslim Americans and their friends,” he said in the statement. “I am truly sorry for any comments that may have betrayed my commitment to the U.S. Constitution and the freedom of religion guaranteed by it.”

Your first act President Cain should be a constitutional amemdment that the US Constitution does not reconzie
    Islam as a religion.

It can be , and must be the first step, just because someone
called their cult a religion doesn’t mean you have to accept it.

PC Germany did it, so can America

” The German Federal Government maintains that Scientology is an organization which has primarily economical interests. This idea has been reinforced by a ruling of the Federal Labour court (which is not connected to the government in any way). After having reviewed several Scientology books, the judges concluded that Scientology is not a religion, but a commercial enterprise.”

…and yes, I thought she was cute by half with her answer about Cain, saying Herb four times, when Greta tried to get her to correct it repeating his correct name….then she repeated ‘Herb’ again.

Then to top it off, she had to talk about her poll numbers in a recent poll, while that same poll had over 70% of people on our side of the aisle don’t want her to run…which she always manages to leave out of the conversation…she’s snarky and always acts innocent…when she’s anything but that.

Palin referred to Cain as the flavor of the week and said “with all due respect”. Everything else she had to about Cain was positive. He is the flavor of the week! If Christie would have announced last night that he was running for President he would now be the flavor of the week.

Many of the comments by your readers…were trashing Palin. She is not running for president and will not run. She is doing fine and does not need the upheaval in her life nor does her family.

Let’s lighten up folks and concentrate on winning an election. Presently Romney would win the nomination. I don’t care for him or believe he can defeat Obama but all I can do is vote and will of course vote for him if he should win..

If there were anyone else who was going to run…they would have been in by now. This is what we have folks and all but two should be able to defeat Obama as terrible as he is. But, his leftist base will support him as will the blacks.

She also said that the media likes to first build up people then take them down; the flavor of the week is a media tweek, as was calling him “Herb”. It has worked. By attaching herself as an issue to the campaign of Herman Cain, he is getting more attention. I have been surprised recently to find out how many people don’t know anything much about Herman Cain, if they even know of him, and he is not even on the radar with some people. Now, every time someone takes a shot at Sarah Palin over something she said concerning Herman Cain, someone else is going to ask…Who is Herman Cain? Good job Sarah, conservatives rule!

Taken TOTALLY out of context. Palin dependably praises HermanCain. Listen to the whole subtopic re: HermanCain. She even added “with all due respect” before the comment because that comment did not pertain so much to HermanCain as it did to the primary process.

The criticism of Palin is not fair. It’s plain erroneous.

    Not fair…plain erroneous. EXACTLY.

She was “dead on” with her comments, and NO, it was not a put down.

    Sheeeeesh.

    Herb Cain??
Don’t think Sarah was taking any potshots, but she could’ve at least gotten his name right.

Sarah was taking no potshots, she was calling him “Her”, short for Herman….

I think Sarah Palin may be the Gutless Old Pretenders’ Establishment mole inside the TEA Party.

Which is a really depressing realization, since I like her so much.

How can you idiots on WZ like this jackass? If she had any substance she would have announced her intentions so far. Remember the “I’ll decide by the end of the month” bullcrap? So has that happened? No…guess she’s waiting for Friday…but my bet this clown will blow off any true commitment. Friday will come and it will go.

Palin is the flavor that never delivered. Her press time needs to be eliminated.

Used to lover her…but she’s a tawdry strumpet. Go away Sarah! Leave us alone…put up or STFU! You WILL be a great disappointment to most of the Palin Drones on this site! You should be ashamed!

You will not win with attitudes like this. Whilst the others have only one guy you are imploding.

6 weeks ago it was all Michele. Then it was all Perry. Now it is all Herb.

    Who is next -Jon?

BTW-even if Palin is not running – her advice is worth a mint. She is the only person (Cheney is almost dead) to have any experience of The Final Round.

bwb @10.37. Palin is getting a very big paypacket & international audience of movers & shakers for her Korea speech. Plus she already has a 7 figure salary from Fox & another 18 months if she wants it.

Be glad she is both sticking it to them AND taking their money!
