Palin Says Cain Is “The Flavor Of The Week”…
Palin: “You could say, with all due respect, that he is the flavor of the week.”
I’ve been wresting with this trying to decide if she was taking a shot at him or not and I’m still not sure. What do you guys think?

A shot at Cain, maybe so. But I’ll bet he takes the high road, and turns to some more positive.
A lesson most of the GOP candidates could learn.
No, I don’t think it was a put-down. I think she was describing exactly what the media does to a front runner, if only for a while. The media is overtly attempting to bring a honkie RINO to the top so they can play the racist card throughout the election cycle. It’s all they’ve got left.
Love Sarah!
She was taking a shot @ Cain, insinuating that next week we’ll have another star!
Clearly that, that, that woman is being racist towards that, that, that, oreo!
OsamaHusseinIslamObama 2012′ (WTF)
(the terrorist-Uighur-ACORN-media choice)
-It’s never too early to campaign-
It sounds like she definitely has a favorite, and it isn’t Cain. (Bachmann, i’m guessing)
Comment is too general to cause offense.
Agree with what Sentinel said.
Pound sand Palin!
She sounds a bit jealous!
It wasn’t a putdown, she’s simply acknowledging the media’s past behavior regarding romney, trump, huntsman, bachmann, perry and now Cain.
Herman Cain 2012.
If you have a better idea Governor Palin, I’d like to hear it. The rest of them are pathetic RINOs.
Beat Obama with a Cain!!
Disappointing. I don’t think it was meant as an insult, but she can be a king-maker. Think of the groundswell for Cain had Palin endorsed him.
She cant win, but Herman can.
Herb Cain??
Don’t think Sarah was taking any potshots, but she could’ve at least gotten his name right.
She is right every few weeks someone is the new favorite, rising star etc. Because she followed up and explained why “Herb” is popular in this moment I didn’t interpret it as a bash. If she said it and then immediately moved on to change the subject then I think it would have been a hit. Herb clearly isn’t her candidate, that is mostly what I got out of it.
It is funny how everyone was gung-ho Perry, then he suddenly became a dud, and the next day everyone was on the Cain bandwagon. Who knows who it will be once Cain screws up.
So not, she was complimenting him
I’d have to struggle to find a positive meaning for that statement. It sounds like someone who is trying to make light of Cain’s credentials to keep her options open. If she endorses him or even lends credence to his candidacy, he would be a tougher foe for her.
I’d like to think that she was taking aim at the voters and the media with that comment. And she’d be right.
No, I don’t think it was a shot against Cain because everything she said after that was very positive. After the straw poll Cain has been the flavor of the week. Now it’s time for Cain supporters need to make him the GOP candidate.
‘Release the Palin’ !!!!!
Something to do with how much she likes chocolate?
I saw the interview & it immediatly hit me wrong when she said that. I’ll cut her some slack on it… but I wish she would use her words more carefully. I rationalized that she’s probably going to run & isn’t wanting to say anything too favorible that might be used against her later.
And she is right…why would any Conservative support Cain when he wants to give gun rights to the States…he thinks the States can deny you of your Constitutional Right to Bear Arms…what next ? He thinks Florida can take away your right to free speech too ? He didn’t even know what the Palestinian “right to return” meant…he also said he would not reverse they removal of DADT-open homosexuality in teh military is a detriment to our military and it needs to be reversed !
If she doesn’t know his first name and calls him Herb 3 times, it’s hard to believe that she knows much about him or respects him.
That said, I don’t think she was insulting him.
Fox is failing us all and I’m watching them less and less now that they have drifted so far Left and started to play ball with Zero. Palin would love a big 7-figure gig there so she’s gettin’ along to go along. She’s no saint.
Generally, when that statement is used, it is intended as a putdown, but we’re talking about Sarah Palin. That it is an open question whether she intended a putdown to be a putdown tells you all you need to know about her intellect. She makes about as much sense as screen doors on a battleship, and the (R) party would be better off if she would make like a tree and get out of here.
The phrase “with all due respect” was invented to insult someone, while appearing not to.
We can add that to the list of similar phrases like “it goes without saying” and then saying it anyway. Or “I could care less” when really, they mean they couldn’t care less.
With all due respect to Palin, she was insulting Cain.
I think she was stating the obvious and that is Herman won the debate and now people are getting a better look at him, thus making him the flavor of the weak!!
Weak as in all the rest of the Rebubs running for office right now look weak as shit.
Herman is the front runner.. Will it help? Don’t know…

Beat Obama with a Cain!!
: )
.
I watched Greta’s interview of Palin and I actually thought what Palin said about Cain was a positive for him. She was of course reflecting on the amazing bump Herman received in a Florida Straw poll. The comment she made was about various polls that seem to differ dramatically from probably were they were taken or how they were worded. Just a couple of weeks ago Perry was riding high and Bachmann was loosing ground. The GOP Convention is around 10 months away and a lot can happen during that time period.
Of late after reading up on Herman Cains bio or wikipedia, the man is clearly no lightweight when it comes to the economy and the business world. It is definitely a must read.
He also took on President Bill Clinton in a townhall meeting over Hillarycare that left Clinton somewhat stunned when Cain was able to argue his position against Hillarycare effectively towards the Presidents probing questions directed at Cain. Cain would go on to be a cause-celeb in crushing Hillarycare– you should be able to find it on you tube.
The man definitely has an impressive resume that runs circles around Obamas in my opinion.
Come on guys what is the group that Sarah dislikes the most? The l;ame stream media! Who builds up and then tears down the GOP candidates on a weekly basis? First it was Bachmann, then Romney as the fall back guy. Then Perry showed up and took a dive. Now the lsm is talking about getting Christie to run. Also, remember Trump? She was just saying that give it a couple of weeks and the CBC and lsm will find something mean and nasty on ol “Herb” and he will plumment too. The only person I have ever heard Sarah bash openly is BHO which is fine by me. I like Cain and will vote for him in a heart beat but let’s face it he isn’t expected to stay out front by most political analysts and he has no ground game or network. The big donors will not come to his aid until he has slain Romney and Perry. If the debates don’t narrow down the numbers he might never get that chance. Huntsman, Newt, Santorum and Bachmann are through and need to be weeded out so that the remaing few can discuss their plans for the job and solidify their positions on the big issues.
Yeah sure, she was taking a pot shot at him. You people want to hate and read stuff into what she says to make yourselves feel better.
She said:
he’s not from the permanent political class
he came from a working class family
he is not elite
he’s had to make it on his own
he connects with people
he’s from the working class
he’s using common sense
he’s a good messenger
he’s resonating with the people
I think Palin wants to toughen up GOP contenders.. after what she and her family have been put through by the left and the media.. redundant.. she realizes it will take someone with a spine and cojones to get rid of Hussein.. if they can’t take heat from her its hopeless.
Two possible scenarios
A. It was an insult
or
B. It was intended to come off as an insult so the left would go apeshit, like they do every time Palin says something. Easy media coverage for Cain.
Dear Sarah is looking rather tattered lately… I get the feeling things are not good in Wasilla right now… Once a strong supporter, Now I think she is very snarky… Herb Cain??? Bullsh*t… She had to have heard Gretta say the correct name… Dear Sarah has become a bitch…
I am getting so tired of that narcissist woman and her rehearsed one liners and sound bites. She is a quitter and her “fans” sound a lot like the Obamabots did 3-years ago. You betcha!
I think it was a shot, both at Cain and the entire republican circus.
Bachman is not doing very well.
Frankly Cain is the only one running who can lead and understands the danger of Islam, or has not sold out America
for Islamic votes like some governors have.
“While I stand by my opposition to the interference of sharia law into the American legal system, I remain humble and contrite for any statements I have made that might have caused offense to Muslim Americans and their friends,” he said in the statement. “I am truly sorry for any comments that may have betrayed my commitment to the U.S. Constitution and the freedom of religion guaranteed by it.”
Your first act President Cain should be a constitutional amemdment that the US Constitution does not reconzie
Islam as a religion.
It can be , and must be the first step, just because someone
called their cult a religion doesn’t mean you have to accept it.
PC Germany did it, so can America
” The German Federal Government maintains that Scientology is an organization which has primarily economical interests. This idea has been reinforced by a ruling of the Federal Labour court (which is not connected to the government in any way). After having reviewed several Scientology books, the judges concluded that Scientology is not a religion, but a commercial enterprise.”

===================================
Yeah like the toughness she showed in governing Alaska for all of 2 years until she quit to make her millions.
Little too much Sarah hate without thinking about what she said in these last two posts about her for my tastes.
I’m sure I can see how one might think she was taking a shot. IF you want to behave like the liberal media and take one little sentence without all those other words around it. CLEARLY she is NOT taking a shot. Look at her delivery, the tone, her body language and her words. NOT a shot. She is in Analyst mode and that is it. I like Cain. Let’s all raise Caine.
Oh give me a break!
She kept complimenting him! She said he had been ignored by the media and that to her Florida was not much of a surprise.
She did put down the establishment twins with the news anchor hair – Perry & Romney – however.
I’ll take Sarah over “Remember the Alamo when you give freebies to illegal Mexicans” Rick Perry any time!
Maybe not. But I believe that he can take Obama in the election. She should be careful in what she says and always be very supportive of the Herman crab.
“I’ll take Sarah over “Remember the Alamo when you give freebies to illegal Mexicans” Rick Perry any time!”
You mean the governor who ran out on her state to make millions?
She didn’t run out on her state. She left because the left was making it too hard for her to do the work she wanted to do. And that was intentional on the left. They drive her to quit with bogus charges and when she quits to stop the harrassment for her and the distraction for her state, she’s criticized as a quitter. You guys are something. But you also very very transparent.
I am not a guy and she is a quitter. I do not think she likes the minutiae of government any more then Obama does. She prefers to get soft ball interviews by Hannity and van Susteren.
She was commenting on the fact that we don’t have a consistent front-runner yet, and we probably won’t for a while.
Media didn’t pick Cain the Florida people did, so STFU Sarah, I use to like you and you slipped way down the respect mountain with that comment.
sarah prefers soft ball interviews–sarah
It would be nice if she get some. You’re the worst kind of woman….you’re fine with the character assassination of a conservative woman.

I don’t think he is either. He is a lightweight when it comes to some pretty important issues . . . like foreign relations. We have just gone through 2.5 years with someone like that. Don’t think we want another 5.5 years of more of it.
I think I know who she will endorse eventually. And I don’t think some of you will like it. He will be considered by some of you as a “RINO” and certainly won’t be conservative enough for some of you.
She had nothing but positive things to say about him. She also said, “with due respect”….meaning she was not saying that to put down Cain but to put down the media.

You STFU. You misinterpreted the answer you ignorant fool.
Anyone notice how she was saying she didn’t know if she could be shackled with the having the title of Prez blah blah blah….yet she strings everyone of her followers along for months and months if she’s going to run or not.
Give me a Break…I had enough of Palin long back, many have seen through this quitter along time ago.
…and yes, I thought she was cute by half with her answer about Cain, saying Herb four times, when Greta tried to get her to correct it repeating his correct name….then she repeated ‘Herb’ again.
Then to top it off, she had to talk about her poll numbers in a recent poll, while that same poll had over 70% of people on our side of the aisle don’t want her to run…which she always manages to leave out of the conversation…she’s snarky and always acts innocent…when she’s anything but that.
…Other politicians know that, but are smart to hold their tongues not giving her more attention…which she thrives on, all the way to the bank.
@ SarahSmile:
She put her family first, and that tells me everything I need to know about the woman.
Of course, if she’d been an establishment puppet like Rick Perry, she would not have had to worry about the legal fees that were ruining her family. The establishment would have taken care of that for her.
Plus you guys seem to think that resigning is horrible. What do you want? Lords that control your whole life.
I would like to see politicians do that more often. But they do the opposite: they lie, cheat, prostitute themselves, sell their souls just to keep their precious little “politician” title. That tells you everything you need to know about them.
Sarah said screwed the title. My family and integrity are more important that a plaque on a door!
Get it?
@ Diamond Girl
Well stated!!!
Either way, she won’t stop shooting.
This. I can assure you.
Am I the only one sick of seeing and hearing peggy hill from Alaska?I’m certainly not defending the crude, degrading way she’s been treated but give it a rest lady.Media whore.
Definitely not a putdown – I think she was trying to illustrate that some might think he is a flash in the pan, but as she continued – he is more a man of the people. I really think it was a plus. But this will be taken out of context – we shouldn’t let that happen.
at least Cain has the balls to run for president Sarah
One Hot Frog :
No you were never a supporter of Sarah Palin Mr.Frog. In my opinion you are a lying troll.
Sickofislam: –
Thanks for pointing these positive comments out that came from Sarah Palin in this interview on Herman Cain– she was all positive on Cain as a candidate.-I wish people would listen before they comment

————————————————————————————–
@Saprisy// The saying is “Makes as much sense as screen doors on a submarine” , not battleship. If you are going to draw conclusions as to one’s intellect over the use of a phrase, you might want to get yours correct. Tool.
Cain 2012, if Sarah doesn’t run.
late to the thread & news, but yeah, Palin was absolutely taking a shot at Cain, I’ve noticed she’s very deliberate these days in how she refers to GOP candidates, by name, not by name, by incorrect name, snide quip, etc. This was stupid move on Palin’s part, alienating Tea Partiers like myself who were choosing between Cain & Palin (for lack of better choices)
Palin is a tease. I’ve lost a lost of respect for her over the last few months. The only reason she has not yet announced that she will not run is because she loves the attention.
@Chaban
Family first my ass! She quit to make a fortune. She is a phony and a fake.
No – the full statement is merely highlighting what the media does – and she was actually discussing Christie at the time and point is that the flavor of week is to be propped up by lamestream in order to then crush them.
FIGHT WE MUCH!
Zip – I enjoy your polls but this post did not require one.
Palin referred to Cain as the flavor of the week and said “with all due respect”. Everything else she had to about Cain was positive. He is the flavor of the week! If Christie would have announced last night that he was running for President he would now be the flavor of the week.
Many of the comments by your readers…were trashing Palin. She is not running for president and will not run. She is doing fine and does not need the upheaval in her life nor does her family.
Let’s lighten up folks and concentrate on winning an election. Presently Romney would win the nomination. I don’t care for him or believe he can defeat Obama but all I can do is vote and will of course vote for him if he should win..
If there were anyone else who was going to run…they would have been in by now. This is what we have folks and all but two should be able to defeat Obama as terrible as he is. But, his leftist base will support him as will the blacks.
Damn, that one got the Palinites in an uproar…
That shot of cain with the flag in the background reminds you of the opening sciens from GEORGE C. SCOTTS movie PATTON
She also said that the media likes to first build up people then take them down; the flavor of the week is a media tweek, as was calling him “Herb”. It has worked. By attaching herself as an issue to the campaign of Herman Cain, he is getting more attention. I have been surprised recently to find out how many people don’t know anything much about Herman Cain, if they even know of him, and he is not even on the radar with some people. Now, every time someone takes a shot at Sarah Palin over something she said concerning Herman Cain, someone else is going to ask…Who is Herman Cain? Good job Sarah, conservatives rule!
Taken TOTALLY out of context. Palin dependably praises HermanCain. Listen to the whole subtopic re: HermanCain. She even added “with all due respect” before the comment because that comment did not pertain so much to HermanCain as it did to the primary process.
The criticism of Palin is not fair. It’s plain erroneous.
Not fair…plain erroneous. EXACTLY.
She was “dead on” with her comments, and NO, it was not a put down.
Sheeeeesh.

************************************************************************
Sarah was taking no potshots, she was calling him “Her”, short for Herman….
I think Sarah Palin may be the Gutless Old Pretenders’ Establishment mole inside the TEA Party.
Which is a really depressing realization, since I like her so much.
How can you idiots on WZ like this jackass? If she had any substance she would have announced her intentions so far. Remember the “I’ll decide by the end of the month” bullcrap? So has that happened? No…guess she’s waiting for Friday…but my bet this clown will blow off any true commitment. Friday will come and it will go.
Palin is the flavor that never delivered. Her press time needs to be eliminated.
Used to lover her…but she’s a tawdry strumpet. Go away Sarah! Leave us alone…put up or STFU! You WILL be a great disappointment to most of the Palin Drones on this site! You should be ashamed!
Done with Sarah.
“I’ll announce … half past never”
You will not win with attitudes like this. Whilst the others have only one guy you are imploding.
6 weeks ago it was all Michele. Then it was all Perry. Now it is all Herb.
Who is next -Jon?
BTW-even if Palin is not running – her advice is worth a mint. She is the only person (Cheney is almost dead) to have any experience of The Final Round.
bwb @10.37. Palin is getting a very big paypacket & international audience of movers & shakers for her Korea speech. Plus she already has a 7 figure salary from Fox & another 18 months if she wants it.
Be glad she is both sticking it to them AND taking their money!
Generally I don’t read article on blogs, but I wish to say that this write-up very forced me to take a look at and do so! Your writing style has been surprised me. Thanks, very great article.
