Obama’s Acting Commerce Secretary: U.S. “Can’t Afford” Not To Spend Taxpayer Dollars Subsidizing Green Tech…
Leave it to someone in this administration to say we can’t afford not to spend money.
(CNSNews.com) — Acting Commerce Secretary Rebecca Blank said that in a global race for green technology, the United States “can’t afford” not to spend taxpayer money on such projects, and that the price of that spending is an occasional failure. One of those failures was a $535-million federal loan guarantee to the Solyndra company that makes solar panels but which recently filed for bankruptcy.
“The U.S. can’t afford to not be a major winner in this race,” Blank said Thursday on a conference call with reporters. “That necessarily means that there’s going to be some capital investment by the U.S. government. But it is new technology and that means that there is sometimes risks.”
Blank said that because green technology can sometimes be untested, the risk of failure will always be there when government subsidizes green companies.

If Americans can buy cheaper solar panels from China then they can from Obama’s friends, then it is a win for the consumer.
What he really means:
“We can’t afford to let these money laundering fronts get away because those $3.00 donations aren’t coming in fast enough.”
This other company that they just invested in uses China’s solar panels!!
We must remember that the Obama Administration’s idea of a good business model is one that never makes a profit, never researches their market, never has to worry about mean old banks pulling their working capital, never manages their production time and never worries about cost containment.
Eliminate taxes on dividends received from investment in “green” companies. If they will succeed, they will make money, and the investors will make good money.
That’s how it is done. But that doesn’t give you and the democrat party control, does it Barry? You frauds.

“a global race for green technology”?/?? No one is racing but us. I am out here…dare I say it? DRILLING FOR OIL in Malaysia Indonesia Vietnam Brazil and a host of other places when there is more oil in our backyard than out here.
Looks to me, (this is just the hillbilly talking) that drilling and building refineries would be a good jobs plan.
The rest of the world knows that oil = jobs. There is currently more money… and JOBS in Singapore than Houston or Bismark.

You can’t sell us on the fact that the Money given to Solyndra was a safe bet. All the warning signs and red flags were out there. This was Chicago Cronyism to its core, pure and simple.
The only green flowing around these untested projects is tax payers money.
Stuff that works is enabling us to do just this rite now.
