UN Advisor: Islam Gives Same Rights To Women As Men…
The Koran begs to differ.
(Today’s Zaman) — Islam gives the same rights to women as men, which is contrary to the image in Westerners’ minds about a woman’s status in Islam, Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General Nafis Sadik told the Anatolia news agency on Friday.
During an official visit to Turkey, Sadık said, “Being a Pakistani woman, I have had many chances to observe the women’s rights issue in Islamic countries; the religion of Islam gives equal rights to women.”
She added that women should do whatever necessary to acquire the rights that Islam gives them.
Emphasizing that there is a negative image in Western countries about the role of women in Islam, Sadik said, “In the Western world when people think of a Muslim person, the image of a Muslim man with four helpless women behind him comes to mind, but this image doesn’t reflect reality,” adding that “when reporters find out I’m a Muslim woman, they are usually surprised because they don’t believe that a Muslim woman can be successful and hold a high position as I do.”
She also mentioned that she grew up under strict religious rules but had the same rights as her brothers, going on to say that “although my father was a religious man, he didn’t at all restrict my education and my choice of who to marry.”
Women have the right to divorce in marriage, and Islam defends the rights of women, Sadik asserted.

Sadik is just practicing what the Koran encourages Muslims to do, lying to the infidels.
There is no other way you can reconcile her statements with reality. You can’t tell me she doesn’t know how women are treated by 99.99% of Muslim men.
Women have the “right” to remain covered head to toe. Should they wave that “right”, they have the “right” to have their head cut off.
They also have the “right” to be murdered if they dishonor their family, as well as the “right” to be stoned to death if they are raped.
For my project in women’s studies class, I told them about the horrors of Islam:

You would think so, but she was actually very receptive to what I said – even the conclusion of my paper, where I said that Western feminists were “idiotic” for not focusing their attention on the worst modern example of persecution against females. I got an A in the class.

Unsurprisingly, I received few questions, especially since I was the only male in class that day, down from a record high of two males that whole semester. One of the students asked me about showing “cultural relativism” to Islam, to which I responded that cultural relativism must not be conflated with moral relativism, and that questions of morality do admit of very wrong answers (which Islam provides in droves). While answering another girl’s question, I pointed out to the class that everyone there was violating the hijab code with their exposed hair and would thus be at the whims of patriarchal Sharia courts. While I was giving the presentation, they were clearly taken aback as I recited the atrocities against women allowed by Islam – I felt glad that I at least tapped at their heartstrings.
One girl asked me after class about whether males had any restrictions on garb in Islam. I was too familiar with the average women’s studies student to be stunned that she asked me this, so I answered. Males must wear knee-length covering (also called hijab in Islam). I do not know if I was wearing shorts that day, but it does not matter because I am proud to be a kafir.
