Emails Show Wall Street Occupiers Considered Indoctrinating Children With Radical Leftist Propaganda…
(Daily Caller) — Emails posted online Monday from a private Occupy Wall Street mailing list show that protest leaders considered indoctrinating children with radical literature at Zucotti Park in New York City.
In response to protest organizer Kelley Wolcott’s open request to “coordinate” a “family day,” another mailing list member offered up socialist literature for use during the festivities.
“I have a story book called Tales for Little Rebels: A Collection of Radical Children’s Literature, with stories ranging from Dr. Seuss to Bolshevik sponsored ‘Fairy Tales for Worker’s Children,’” Nicolas Moselle Allen wrote. “Let me know if you would like this!”
A publisher’s blurb for “Tales for Little Rebels” introduces the book by noting that “[r]ather than teaching children to obey authority, to conform, or to seek redemption through prayer, twentieth-century leftists encouraged children to question the authority of those in power. Tales for Little Rebels collects forty-three mostly out-of-print stories, poems, comic strips, primers, and other texts for children that embody this radical tradition.”

My brother and his uber-liberal wife gave that book to my 3 year old daughter for Christmas last year. Boy was I pissed. It is the real deal. Some of the stories are relatively innocent, but some are out and out Marxist propaganda. I want to throw it out, but I am sure my daughter would notice, and my mom would get mad at me…

Mountain Lawyer, I don’t need to read the book. I’ve seen it happen where kids are raised to believe whatever crazy shit their parents believe.
Most of the time, it doesn’t work once the kids get out of the house and see the world.
One of my son’s friends was raised by CPUSA parents…..and the kid is now in the CIA.

Well, since research has proven those home-schooled kids make higher grades and are all around healthier and have higher self-esteem, are more patriotic and Christian, we wouldn’t want to imitate them, now would we?

Teach them at home. Millions do it. If not, visit your child’s school classroom and see what’s being taught. You may have to make a choice. Just like abortion. It’s a choice. Force your belief on your neighborhood and your children.
It started out as a revolution, and ended up as a homeless shelter and to add insult to injury rape and theft are becoming part of the bad scene as well. Katherine, the point is that waving some stupid book around that somebody wants to “consider” showing to children, isn’t much to get alarmed about. there’s no shortage of lunatic books or demented things that are suggested.
This book isn’t being used and it’s a 1,000,000 to 1 that it’s ever going to be used.
Worrying about it and pretending that there’s any real reason is odd.
