WZ Poll: Who Won Tonight’s GOP Debate…

ZIP | October 18, 2011 11:27 pm

  • c

Just watch, the Paul nuts are out in full force tonight,

They already ran up the numbers on theblaze poll for Ron Paul

  • Fukitol

If Newt didn’t have all the personal baggage and that park bench episode with Pelosi, he would be very close to leading the pack.

  • Some Random Chick

    Totally bummed.
Perry is going down..where is this man’s fire?
Romney, the plastic candidate, is not someone I want to vote for. Is it just me or does his fake grin irritate others.
Cain took a beating but held his own. I like Cain.
Gingrich is a cantankerous bastard with fire….I actually liked him tonight.

When is Romney going to stop blaming others for Romney Care? He even tried to pin it on Gingrich tonight. The hell?

  • Diamond Girl

It was a blast watching the two arrogant supposed top-dogs Perry & Romney act like Valley Girls…especially Mittens when he called in Anderson to make the debate fair…talk about eating each other.

Gingrich and Santorum did will…but Cain was the Winner in my eyes ~

  • Diamond Girl

Oops, I meant did ‘well’ not ‘will’.

  • Sentinel

Romney makes me physically sick. I detest the very existence of this plastizoid asshole and will find it hard to vote for him in the general election. Gingrich is without a doubt the most knowledgeable candidate but he sometimes drifts into the CFR mode, which I do not like at all. I used to like Bachman very much (and she ain’t hard to look at either) but she can come off as whiny at times. She is a smart woman, but the media being what it is WRT chauvinism has rendered her useless as they did Palin. Paul? Please? Santorum, whiny and petty. Perry? Somewhat of a dolt. Only Cain stayed consistent and somewhat on target.

What needs to happen is these candidates need to QUIT debating these hatchet job liberal venues. All that happens here is the constant turmoil among the candidates in an attempt to warm us up for their pick – Romney. Ain’t happening for me.

  • Diamond Girl

By the way…as much as I detest CNN the majority of the time, I do have to give them kudos for the two debates they have held, Blitzer and Cooper have had the most free-wheelin’ debates I have seen in a lot of years…I have truly enjoyed them…it would do other networks well to take a lesson, but I doubt that they will.

  • Blackbird

I had to hold my breath to vote for McCain in 2008. If I have to pull the handle for Romney in 2012 I will have to go home and scrub myself clean to try and remove that stench. I do not trust that man, he reeks of the politics we are trying to clean out of Washington.

  • PatriotWarMonger

Didn’t even watch. Why? To see a “performance”? Oh, oh…”Who won the debate?” “Who had the best performance?” Who cares? Since when does a good performance in a debate have anything to do with leadership? Debate? We don’t need no stinking debate. All I need to know is where they stand on issues. Whether or not they can argue about it with someone else means little to me. I’ll decide who is right or wrong for myself.

I’m voting for Cain. Period. Yes, even with a year to go. Unless we discover something so unbelievably horrible about him, I’ve already made up my mind. Hell, I made up my mind about Cain months ago. He’s the only one who says what he really means. Romney and Perry? Quintessential PHONY politicians. Santorum? C’mon, even he knows he hasn’t got a prayer. Newt? What, with VP Pelosi? I don’t think so. Paul? Ha, don’t get me started. Bachmann? Maybe… except for that wave. WTF is that? That six-year-old, spastic hand waving. Nope, Cain is the man. He isn’t perfect and his 9-9-9 plan may have some flaws, but it’s a start. He is a plainspoken, honest man who has more than enough sense to lead lead this country and enough of a true understanding of this country to want to preserve and defend it. The fact that he’s black is a bonus – it destroys the charge of racism. The fact that these other desperate politicians attack him thinking it advances their cause tells me all I need to know about them and him.

Now… if he can just persuade Allen West…

Mr. Nasal, metrosexual Coop, loved steering the “bumper cars”
tonite….and was the star of the nite…….for the LEFT press
to express tomorrow. Gingrich, in three 2-hour head-to-head
“debates” with Oh!bama would reduce him to smoking
embers. But, alas, this will never happen. And the nation
will lose as a result. Sometimes, I want to bitch-slap
Romney….but he’ll be the guy at the end. Perry’s pills are
a Viagra placebo (inert)…Cain is great, but will bring out
MORE anti-repub black vote than Romney would. Is
    Alf Landon still alive?

  • KenH

If Romney aka SCOAMF lite is the nominee, the republic is fucked sideways

  • V

Look…Gingrich did that add many years back before a lot of solid conclusive evidence and scientific opinions were in against man made global warming-I believe the man has since sincerely recanted.

Cain ? Please. he was catch in a lie tonight when he said he didn’t say he could see himself trading all Gitmo prisoners to Al Qaeda in a prisoner exchange- Cooper later played the video and THEN Cain had to sheepishly say ” I..ah..misspoke”. This guy is a 30 second soundbite–he is as oily as any slickster out there.
Cain isn’t exactly a captain of industry. He headed up companies that pay minimum wage. Something we all aspire too !

Cain’s “999″ tax plan would add $6800 to the purchase of a new $40K vehicle in California (8% Calif. tax + his 9% Fed. tax)..the banks would love that-that $6800 would get rolled into your loan and you’d pay interest on it for 5/6 years ! Not to mention the huge increase in your auto loan monthly payment.Boy that will stimulate consumer confidence and buying. NOT. I brought this up to a Cain supporter and his brilliant response was ” buy a used car ! “…right. I want the government so increasing taxes and control of my money that the GOVERNMENT prices me out of the right to buy a new vehicle if I so chose. I thought ” Conservatives” wanted the Government out of their lives not deeper in. Cain’s plan also taxes FOOD and medicine. That’s 17% tax on food. The excuse is that the “payroll tax” would be eliminated so you’d be saving there…excuse me but there are millions of retired folks on pensions and Social Security and folks on disability who don’t even pay “payroll taxes ” anymore yet they would be forced to pay 17% on food, medicine and goods. Oh that’s brilliant. Do the people that support this clown really think the general voting population is going to vote for this massive tax increase on the lower and middle class citizenry ? It also eliminates the child deduction on your tax return-so you folks who claim your kids- not under his plan. Oh and yes his plan does save rich folks lots of money.
Have you Cain supporters thought this out or just swallow any rhetoric fed you :
*** Cain Plan destroys Social Security ”
Cain never mentions in his aggressive marketing of his tax plan that abolition of the Payroll FICA tax would destroy SS. Social Security is financed through FICA dedicating a wage-related stream to the nation’s social insurance programs. Without this dedicated payroll tax, Social Security becomes just another government payout from an already depleted and deficit-ridden general treasury fund. Perhaps Cain would allow redemption of the $2.6 trillion in assets-US Treasury bonds-currently held in the Social Security Trust Fund. But there would be no future FICA contributions to the trust fund and, thus no future for the Social Security safety net.
    –
Has your man Cain explained this between his song and dance routine or have you Cain zombies even thought about such things ? Ya…that’s what I thought.
..his plan is a huge tax increase on working families, it does nothing but hurt us, and gives huge tax breaks to the richest Americans.. this “plan” is horrible for all working families.
..and it also takes away their children credits costing families with children another $ 3000 dollars, He thinks its better for the super rich to have that money then working families, and those with children.

I have no use for Cain. He said he believes Gun Rights should be dictated by the States, huh ? So he is OK with say the state of Ohio depriving Ohio citizens of their Constitutional Right to bear arms…is he that ignorant of Constitutional issues. He also had no idea what the Palestinian “right to return ” issue was, considering the Israeli/Palestinian turmoil is always in the forefront of foreign affairs and importance I would think a man who wanted to be President and would be involved addressing such issues would have a clue of the facts and history of the situation, its foreign affair 101. Look the man may have been a stellar business man running a food chain but sitting in a board room with pizza execs is a far cry from sitting across a table eye to eye with Vladimir Putin for gods sake. Being a successful businessman does not qualify one to Commander in Chief of the armed forces either..and make decisions in these dangerous times which may even.
require the use of nuclear weapons the way things are going..and the fact that the man has had stage 4 colon/liver cancer is more then a bit troubling as well…he may be almost 5 years cancer “free” (although an oncologist told me they can never guarantee cancer cells are not floating through the body even after cancer treatment) Stage 4 is usually terminal ..and it tends to come back with a vengeance..at his age the odds are not in his favor…and being in a super high stress job as President would not be wise..sorry Cain may be a nice man and good business man but he is NOT the one to run the country..

Cain/West 2012, Herman held his own with people who have not read his 9-9-9 plan and try to twist it to make him look like he didn’t do his homework.

Herman held back for three weeks so they had time to vet it and run the numbers, The most important assessment was done by economist Gary Robbins. I have been following the economics of Gary Robbins for over 20 years (this article from Politico gives more background on his economic experience). I agree with Jude Wanniski that he is one the best supply side economics analyst who has ever lived.

Gary was asked to score Cain’s plan and found that economically going “to a system that taxes income once and only once and quits double-taxing savings… That’s something that can really juice the economy, it’s probably worth 15 percent in growth. …” But Gary said that it would not have been a tax system he would have proposed because “The problem with the big-bang changes like that, the flat tax or the fair tax, is that they are so alien to the current system that it would be a great big shock.”

  • Chaban

    @strangerthanfiction:

    I know, right?

I was wondering if others had picked up on that…

Regarding Cain, I think his handlers are now stiffling him, just like Reagan’s did for a while early in his 80′s campaign.

He has to be himself and he can win this thing.

  • luvwarporn

    Hermain Cain one-liners:
“I took bankrupt Godfather’s pizza and turned it into a successful operation solvent to this day. Obama took solvent AAA America and bankupted her.”
“I had a radio talk show, Obama has a teleprompter.”
“I stand up for America, Obama bows down to foreign dictators and apologizes for America.”
“I wrote my own book, Ayers wrote Obama’s.”
“I was a Navy weapons expert and a mathematician and I have what Obama doesn’t: Transcripts”
“I am a black male natural born citizen. Obama isn’t”

  • The Original

Cain showed is inadequacies tonight. He gave some really bad answers.

  • The Original

His apples and oranges answer regarding his national sales tax and state sales tax was just awful.

  • Katherine

    I’m still supporting Perry.

I like Cain but I don’t know how he’ll govern, since he has never held office. And no matter how much some of you want to ignore that fact, the independents will hold it against him as will many Republicans. I also don’t like his affinity with Romney, that much hand holding and support for Romney tells me that Cain agrees with him on many levels.

I will never again depend on what a politician says during his campaign, I will look to what he actually did and supported prior to running for office. Saying you believe in something is easy….actually doing it is something else. And Cain lacks both the proof of the pudding and the knowledge and support of the political machine necessary to function in the office of the President of the U.S.

He has no experience gathering quorums, no experience dealing with intransigent bureaucracies, no experience in dealing with the Democrat propoganda machine, no experience in the world of politics at all. And as Marco Rubio said, it is a very different world! How will Herman sort the wheat from the chaff? And does he actually mean everything he says, or is he just saying what he believes will get him elected.

The ‘hot wire’ link regarding Cain’s church was interesting, and to me, a little unnerving.

I don’t subscribe to holding this man up as an answer to Obama simply because he’s black (and supposedly untouchable by the race card playing Leftists), that would make us just as bad as the Democrats, and do a terrible disservice to Mr. Cain.

Hasn’t Obama proven that (Democrat or Republican) inexperience is fatal to both the country and the man, when talking about the office of the President of the United States? That’s why Alan West is demonstrating extraordinary wisdom in his refusal to run, he knows it’s not just ideas and positions, it’s KNOW HOW.

Are we incapable of learning the lessons of Obama and the Left? Are distant promises and campaign positioning enough to justify voting for someone for the highest office in the land?

  • luvwarporn

    Romney/Christie = RINO/HIPPO

  • JS

They’re all worthless at this point and its becoming a pointless joke, these debates.

  • Dale

It is amazing the ignorance of the American people! If you tale the state sales tax it is paid out of your net pay after all other taxes have been extracted from you! If you have FICA Federal Tax and MediCare that is 15.6% versus 9%, you pay no tax on Capital Gains, Social Security Checks therefore industry does not have those taxes built in to their good and services which is a 22% cost fact including the cost of compliance with the IRS Code which is a 480 Billion dollar to the economy. After all of the build in Taxes are not there the cost of goods will decline including the 45 cent a gallon gasoline tax the Fed gets.

Business can deduct their expenses each year as long as they buy American therefore it levels the playing field for America Businesses and they can employ more people, in fact the independent scoring said unemployment would go to around 4 to 5% wages would increase by at least 10 % and business would have 30% more revenue and the government would collect approximately 2 trillion more revenue dollars to start to pay off our national debt with a balanced budget amendment.

The Ignorance of the American People is what got us where we are today that is the reason most people work for some one else because our educational system has created one maybe two generations of dependence being a way of life. A government that can give you anything is big enough to take everything so we either wake up to the business principles of FREE ENTERPRISE AND THE CAPITAL SYSTEM or we will finish off the downward spiral to a life like the Cuban’s enjoy! For those that have gotten a free ride and have the victim mentality there is a passage in the Bible that says “If a man does not work then he does not eat.”

  • http://theconservativetreehouse.com/ Sundance

I think the wording of these types of polls should be changed. Instead of who won, we should ask, who did the least amount of damage to themselves?

Intellectual honesty would say Romney won the debate. But Herman Cain did the least amount of damage to himself considering the onslaught. Perry did the worst amount of self inflicted damage again with the “jerk” like attacks and then that stupid “I get to answer the question my way” comment.

We are gonna end up with Romney. This sucks. :(

  • Axel

Whew CL. I have to say I agree w/much of your analysis. I like Cain, he seems to be a good guy, I just don’t seeing him have what it takes to run the country in the straits that it is in. I would love to see him have a role sitting on a cabinet. He is clueless about foreign policy and the military. He talks tough, but he really doesn’t get it. Your comment about him sitting across from Putin is the perfect example. Putin would eat him alive. I would take Cain over Mitt any day w/the prayer he would have an experienced administration helping him.

Luvwarporn those are great quotes and are so true, but a few good one line zingers doesn’t make for a man to be president. Hell, if the presidency was based one liners Gastorgrab would be our president, and I would be fine with that:)

Newt screwed up bad, I try to write it off as playing to partisan politics. “Looky we can all get along” barf, barf. I don’t believe he would put global warming as a priority even if he really does believe in it. I see him more as being environmentally friendly than a fanatic granola head or EPA whore. And I know he can’t stand Owlgore. He put his peter elsewhere, I would imagine there are only a very few politicians that have not dabbled and diddled, as in a miniscule number. At least when busted he owned it unlike so many others we know. Power is an aphrodisiac if there ever was one. That would make for a great study w/our tax payer dollars, has any politician stayed w/in their relationship? They would lie because it’s what they do.

Newt believes that EMP’s are one of the biggest dangers we are facing. I think they are too. I am not sure Cain even knows what it is. Newt knows islam, I don’t think Cain knows islam, he just talks like he does because it’s a hot topic and will grab some votes. Newt knows the game, has been around DC for a long time, Cain would go into shock adjusting to the culture. We are out of time, we don’t have time for a newbie to learn the ropes. Republitards hate him, he supports the Tea Party, he knows history, foreign policy, he genuinely loves this country, he has weathered quite a few debacles and still keeps plugging forward, he is not a quitter. He is against abortion, believes in the Constitution and God. Newt believes in drilling offshore. He can remain calm, cool, and collected under fire, he doesn’t take shit off of anyone, and I have never once seen him be caught off guard or fumble around w/words trying to buy time when asked a question i.e deer in the headlight moment. He seems to me to be on solid ground at all times. He handles the media and isn’t afraid of them. I can see him facing Putin, the only one out of the bunch I can see facing Putin. Newt knows the military very well, he gets it, he appreciates them. We desperately need someone that understands our military. Cain doesn’t, it’s not his thing. If we were at peace time that would be fine, but our world gets crazier by the hour, we are at war and that isn’t going to change any time soon if ever. And we are going to need a president that can keep our guys serving not scrambling to get out of the service. Newt is a very intelligent man and the closest thing to being a true statesman and leader on that stage that we have. Now that I have said all this I think I can forgive him for his Pelosi faux pas. He is the only good choice, whether he wins or not is a different matter. I really don’t want to allow the media to select the candidate.

I don’t know what will happen, all I know is one man isn’t going to be able to fix our country, it is going to have to be us that gets the work done. The twinkle fingers are going to turn into torpedos around the country because they are barry’s civilian brainwashed army. We have to get the evil out of the WH and DC. If all the violence and unrest happens like they are predicting we are going to have to save ourselves as a nation, no president is going to be able to do it.

  • Axel

Damn. Sorry! Need wider margins LOL!

  • Hidajunshin

Cain got thumped pretty hard on 999. He cannot keep answering with, ‘no that’s incorrect. That [subjective] analysis is wrong. Just go read it.’ etc. He will not be able to sell a national sales tax to the American public and Obama will pwn him on it. I also was not too fond of his answers about Gitmo. That was pretty cringe worthy. And again, you can’t keep answering questions with ‘I’ll consult with advisors; the generals will make the decisions’ crap. Cain will get railroaded in the beltway.

Romney got bloodied. Good. About time. And the plastic-bot personality was cracked and showed the real guy. Not good. Slick couldn’t save him tonight.

Perry finally landed a couple of good blows, but it was very petty and un-presidential, which made him come off as a dick. Calling out Mitt for hiring some illegal gardeners when he was doing the in-state tuition thing? WTF was he thinking? He didn’t win himself any points but at least managed to keep his campaign alive for now.

Bachmann was not-crazy until she got all ‘I’m a mom’ and weepy. But she totally has something going on under the table with the Romney campaign. She jumped in a little quickly to ‘help’ Romney.

Ron Paul was great in last week’s debate when it was just about the economy. It really spiraled for him tonight, especially his last few questions.

Rick Santorum is that guy who needs to stay in and play gotcha to the front runners. How he can be completely correct in one moment and then instantly morph into a huge dick is beyond me.

Huntsman should stay out of every debate-they are so much better without him in it!!

Newt pwned that room tonight. Everyone bickered but the Speaker clearly showed why he needs to be the guy who debates Barack Obama next fall. If any of these other people debate Obama, it will set back conservatism for decades–centuries if Rick Perry debates him.

  • Bunker

Newt is good at speaking (should be as he does it often enough) but his glad handing over the years and chummy behavior with Dems leaves me very wary of his leanings.

  • handymanherb

You keep saying he can’t say incorrect, but he has 60 seconds to explain his whole plan, that’s where you have to educate your self and stop being lazy.

They were wrong on most everything they said about his plan, but when your on top and everyone is firing at you to take you down, theyh know they can take pot shots at your plan and your not going to have time to explain it in a 30 second rebuttle.

Some of the best economists have weight in on Herman Plan, even on of my buddy’s.

On September 1, 2011 I wrote an assessment of Herman Cain’s 999 Plan. My original assessment was based on our current politial environment where politicians take any plan and twist it to benefit themselves through crony capitalism. Recently there have been economic assessments made of the Cain plan and I admit that I need to rethink my position based on the economics.

The most important assessment was done by economist Gary Robbins.

    From his analysis:

“In the long run GDP would be nearly $2 trillion larger than the 2008 baseline or nearly 15% higher. The private business capital stock would be more than one-third higher. Hours worked would be 4.4% higher translating into 6 million more jobs. Not shown is that wage rates will be 10% higher. Total federal receipts would be nearly 15% higher. This means that rates could be reduced by another 4 percentage points while maintaining a constant level of federal revenues.”

Then in an interview with Human Events Art Laffer, who drew the famous Laffer curve from the supply side revolution, also offered his support to Cain’s 999 Plan.

“Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan would be a vast improvement over the current tax system and a boon to the U.S. economy… The goal of supply-side tax reform is always a broadening of the tax base and lowering of marginal tax rates.”

“…Mr. Cain’s plan is simple, transparent, neutral with respect to capital and labor, and savings and consumption, and also greatly decreases the hidden costs of tax compliance. There is no doubt that economic growth would surge upon implementation of 9-9-9.”

“…such a system provides the least avenues to avoid paying taxes, yet also maintains the strongest incentives for work effort, production, and investment.”

But perhaps most surprising were comments quoted in Human Events by Paul Ryan:

The EPA and the kook environmentalists are destroying my State.

  • sinkum

I didn’t see the debate, but if none of the candidates was asked the crucial question of what they intend to do, as president, about the rise of global islamofascism, then they might just as well have been asked what their favorite color is or how they like their steak cooked. Relevance zero.

    Wake up America!

  • Shadowblitz70

Once again we have the clueless coming in here with some whacked agenda to beat up on Herman Cain.
Its getting to be old hat. I really feel sorry for Cain, ahaving to explain to DUMBASSES day in and day out how their knee jerk reactions and 10 second analysis of 999 is wrong. I say DUMBASSES, because people want to act like they know everything, and yet refuse to do their damn homework and go read it for themselves. I thought Mitt looked like the retard he is tonite, not even able to grasp the difference between federal and state taxes.
And he wants to be President?????????

Come on people. Its painfully obvious who we need. The guy who isnt a career politician. The only one you can say is running for POTUS because he cares and wants to fix things. Not because hes a glory hound power monger. A true conservative, not a RINO. The only one who speaks in plain english, not double talk or dancing around questions.
Theres a reason all the candiates AND even the commentator were all going after Cain.
They know hes genuine, and isnt playing by slick politician rules. If we nominate ANY of those people other than Cain (except MAYBE Newt, but even he has mental issues), we are TOAST. One of the first things Romney would do is bend over backwards to work with the democraps. Ron Paul would invite Iran to take us over.
Use common sense here, folks, quit nitpicking silly crap.

    Cain 2012.

  • Shadowblitz70

And just for laughs, who actually voted to say Santorum or Bachmann won the debate? You kidding? They barely even spoke. When they did, it was pathetic.

Ron Paul got all wound up in his high pitch whiny rant that showed his grasp of reality swirling around in the toilet, as usual. Newt had his “I dont give a rats ass” attitude, as usual. Mittens and Ricky had a nice little cat-fight. I was waiting to see which one would claw the others eyes out first. A couple real manly men, there. lol

  • sinkum

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about tactical details and long winded responses here.

A simple – “I’m going to tell everyone the truth about it.” would do nicely and would constitute a giant step forward.

    Anyone But Obama.

It’s winning the Senate and keeping the House that’s important.

Even if Obama wins (God forbid), if he is up against a full Republican Congress, he will be effectively neutered.

  • Sasha

I hope everyone is focusing on the house and senate races as well as the races within their states. Two third GOP control in states is achievable as well as a
veto proof house and senate. Show em who is BOSS.
This POTUS thing will sort itself out in the primaries and is somewhat distracting to the big picture. The restoration many of us desire will take more than 1 guy/gal in the Whitehouse.

The common theme in these posts seem to be similar against Ron Paul – cognitive dissonance. When conditioned for so many years to believe in the illusion that the MSM has provided for the military -industrial-complex is tough to overcome. We have been misguided children of an empire for two generations. It is time to grow up and end this nonsense.

Grandpa Ron the best.Wisdom and straight to the point with honesty. This man is exception and only one with real chance
to go after Obama. He is only one on the stage with sound intellectual, philosophical and political base according on which he has build comprehensive program. You cant go against Obama and democrats with candidates who are missing big chunks on the base. They can have one shot of single agenda and that is all.Democrats are intellect driven, and Obama is vulnerable only there.
Simple …if Ron Paul don’t get nomination ,Obama will be another 4 years in and US will be own from not 400 billionaires, not from 200…but from one corporation of bankers.

Why anyone wants to start calling people dumb asses and assume that people didn’t do their homework because they come to the realization that the 999 plan is not good for the poor and middle really makes them sound as if they didn’t do their homework and are, well, dumbasses themselves. I read Cain’s 999 plan, I read other’s explanation and conclusions, I used that 999 calculator (which doesn’t really tell me anything but is kind of a slick tool). In the end this does not benefit the poor and middle class, it’s a tax break for the rich. It’s on tax on top of current taxes. This is a tax plan that is not Teflon and congress can (history shows) will increase 999 11 11 11 15 15 15 etc. Just look at the income tax. There are “hidden” taxes. I say NO INCOME TAX. Repeal 16th amendment. Why should the federal reserve get our income tax money, which is the interest on the money borrowed/printed out of thin air. This plan is a disaster. Cain can’t even explain it simple terms…if it’s so good why can he articulate it? It’s clear he doesn’t understand economics.

Who predicted the housing bubble back in 2003? Ron Paul did but Herman Cain thought it was lies back in 2005. *see website link
Who pushed for an audit of Federal Reserve? Ron Paul did and it revealed 16 trillion dollars going to special corporations, banks, and foreign governments. Herman Cain thought there were no secrets.

  • EDskers

Cain solves problems for a living…The problem this time 9 9 9 has gotten a lot of scrutiny…

Just Wait until Cain gets called out for his Enron-esque scandal…

where he was a director that served over 30 Million dollars in bonuses to himself and his executive buddies after manipulating stocks and screwing their employees…

Can’t wait too See Herman Explain this with Apples & Oranges….LOL

  • Robert

CL….do the math. 9% 0f a $40K car is how much? $3600 – not $6800. If you are in Kalifornia, you are already paying the 8%…NOW….you cannot include what you are already paying in your calculation. With that logic, you might as well blame Cain for the original price of the car also, since, we all know that prior to 9-9-9, we would all pay 0$ for a $40K car.

The problem is that no one wants to do the math. The national sales tax is supposed to offset payroll taxes (that you will not be paying any more). You are already paying State Sales tax now. State taxes should not even be part of the conversation.

Look at what you are paying in FEDERAL income tax and FEDERAL payroll taxes now and what you will pay under the 9-9-9 plan. Depending on your current deductions to income (home mortgage interest, etc) and your current credits, you may indeed be paying more in. You also might not! I don’t personally care for a VAT which is what the third 9 is, but it sure as hell is a start. It eliminates the federal tax code. I do my own taxes and spend hours and hours sorting through the code to make sure I get it right.

I don’t care who you support for nominee, don’t play the liberal straw man game. Do the math and don’t include State taxes that we are already paying regardless of and in addition to the completely assinine and complicated federal tax.

  • Carmen

Ron Paul’s plan would eliminated 5 beauracratic depts, that run inefficiently. It would be via attrition, that means as people retire, aare fired, or quit they are not replaced. Free markets would replace these depts an as usual get government out of the way, we’d have better product/service, create REAL jobs, this tied in with loading corporate tax to bring capital back home and reducing regulations, this is real job creation. He would cut MILITARY spending NOT DEFENSE. wish people would educate themselves about the difference between the two. Google military industrial complex. Foreign policy, why keep giving money we don’t have, yet we devalue via the federal reserve printing press, send it to all these foreign countries? It’s taken from poor Americans and given to the rich foreigners in the poor country. Why is it so hard to understand that?

  • MADJACK

Dont hate just because Ron Paul folks are more organized and come out in full force to support there man and his sane policies. Make sure Cain does his homework. If younthink this guy is clean as a whistle. You can’t get more insider in politics that the Federal Reserve, koch brothers, and the well hidden but should be out soon AQUILA scandal. Google “Herman Cain And Mitt Romney Used Campaign Funds To Enrich Themselves And Their Associates”. Come on people stop being lazy, this is real stuff that needs to be looked at, diligence pays off.

  • Tom Martin

Ron Paul wants to cut ..that is CUT federal spending by 1 trillion immediately.

Ron Paul wants to eliminate 5 unconstitutional departments.

Ron Paul wants the young to be able to opt out of social security

1 trillion in immediate spending cuts… this is what we need!

  • MADgirl91

To those who despise Romney, if he is the candidate, remember that there will be supreme court appointments in the next 4 years. Do you want Obama making those choices?
There will be a Republican Senate, so Obamacare will be repealed, no matter who is the next Republican president.

  • Waterstar

Ron Paul is not the sound byte guy, nor the slick talking, gimmicky entertainer, but his 30+ years as an austrian economist, running his own medical practice/business, an outsider working inside congress, author of foreign and monetary policies books, federal reserve historian, as well as a constitutionalist, is a package you will not get with any other on that stage or in the WH. If you could get past the superficiality and hate and focus on the real issues and study his plan, you’d know it’s not status quo and what this country really needs. We need substance, real change not more corporate-backed, cat fighting, empty talking, candidates.

  • Kevin

C- If we are for Ron Paul we are nuts? Status quo can do nothing but ignore us or call us names. What are you people afraid of that makes you so nasty?

  • Laurie

No GOP candidate can beat Obama. Except the one that is calling for the troops to come home. So many disenfranchised democrats like myself who fell for the Obama BS, will vote for Ron Paul. Shame on me for falling for obama’s charismatic fiery speeches. I switched parties only to vote for Ron Paul. I am sick to my stomach to now be a republican but only for one candidate. And after last nights SHOW, newt playing daddy to his sons, Rick and perry, Cain in need of an economics 101 class, and Bachmann in her straight jacket, I didn’t know whether to vomit or laugh. God help us all.

  • silent_rage

I see some people like 9-9-9 and some don’t. I can’t say I totally understand it.
But I do know this, Cain himself said it was a transitional plan. The first stage is the dissolution of the tax code. That isn’t going to happen without a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. As much as I would like to appreciate Cain’s plan, I can’t get past the fact that is isn’t totally up to him. He has staked is entire reputation on 9-9-9 and is without a fallback position. He is either totally ignorant of how Washington works or thinks we are extremely gullible.
The rest of the candidates know when pander and when to give specifics.

Anyhow, needing 60 seats must have slipped his mind.

  • OhNoz

9-9-9, his key point, that he really needs to stress MORE is that the taxation businesses pass down to consumers will go away and they’ll be able to lower the price of goods. By the time product reaches the consumer, the assembler or creator of the item has paid taxes on every part of it already, that’s supposed to go away under his plan.

In all the analysis of Cain’s plan, both here and in the main stream media, I have not heard anyone talk about the fact that his tax plan will finally tax illegals and those who do whatever they can to avoid taxes.

  • What

Cain lied yesterday when cornered about his remarks to Blitzer. Sure, politicians lie all the time, but not this blatant, and certainly not on the same day on live TV.

But more surprising is the fact that very few Republicans seems to take offence with that. Does that mean lying is acceptable now?

  • Orlando Jones

Ron Paul is the only answer. Now is the time. Forget the R’s and the D’s.. vote for the libertarian. Get the fed govt out of our lives according to the constitution. watch his videos, and stop listening to the bullshnitt smear campaign. watch him speak, don’t listen to anyone. study him yourself. thank you!

  • BonelessChuck

It would if just once people could vote based on who actually did the best job in the debate NOT which candidate they “like” and “support”. There is no way anyone who is intellectually honest or has any integrity can say Cain won the debate. His high rank simply reveals how many of you “like” him. Childish.

When do the 1-3% winners get off the stage?

For Ron lover’s what is your answer w/Ron wanting to bail on Israel?

  • justwow

Ron Paul apparently believes global jihad will just go away if America does exactly what the enemy tells it to do and abandons its key ally in the middle east – Israel. He can’t possibly be that fucking over the top stupid, so the only logical possibility is that he is bought and paid for. I’d like to dropkick the traitorous little prick right in the balls for distracting so many useful idiots from the real issue.

  • Jack

I like Newt. He is intelligent and he did well last night, but he can NOT win an election against Obama. He has too many skeletons, and the media’s demonizing of him has tarnished him, just as the Quayle was stuck with the “dumb” moniker.
Bachman refused the answer questions, looking doe-eyed into the camera, begging for votes.
Perry sounded like Miss Teen America 2007 on most of his answers. We were just left scratching our heads to makes sense of his incoherent, rambling statements.
Romney came off as the same old political hack, with a sanctimonious attitude and mean streak.
Cain came across as insincere on many answers. His attitude seems arrogant. That may attract the Tea Party, but it won’t get the moderate vote.
Ron Paul won this debate, hands down. He was the only candidate with coherent and substantive answers to the questions. He is forthright and honest. When the other candidates staunchly declared that it has always been America’s policy NOT to bargain with terrorist, you could hear a pin drop when Paul brought up Reagan trading arms to Iran for Hostages!!!! LOL!
And Axel, Paul didn’t say he would “bail on Israel”, he said he would cut equal amount of foreign to ALL countries across the board.
That’s what you do when you have a real budget. You cut across the board. snip snip snip snip snip snip snip
We have all cut our spending to adjust to this economy- why shouldn’t our govt?

  • Jack

so JustWow….do you think Reagan was a “traitorous little prick” for supplying arms to the jihadists in return for hostages?

  • B

C, guess you’re wrong. Looks like the Cain nuts are out in full force.

  • A

    C, nice try, shill.

  • A

Those “Paul nuts” are still people, you fuck. They still count. The majority of the country supports Ron Paul now. How does it feel to be left out?

  • lora

Many people ask why Ron Paul has such enthusiastic supporters. I will let the cat out of the bag for you. It is because we are watching our country spiraling toward calamity. Between the loss of liberty, the increasing debt, the corruption in government, banking and media, the sale out of the middle class, the export of our workforce and all the false promises made by an overpaid political glad-handers; we have to endure, daily, the uneducated, absurd and downright rude representations of the only person who can fix this mess. Then we are expected to be grateful for the coverage. We are an educated group of people who know what is going to happen if the rest of the country doesn’t get with the program and the truth is, there is no other way to fix this mess. Nothing but what Ron Paul is proposing has any chance. It is more of the same. This country is totally screwed. Nothing in politics matters when a country goes bankrupt because it makes everything impossible to do. I yelled at the top of my lungs during the last campaign about what was going to happen and was laughed at for supporting him. This time those people agree that I (he) was right all along. BUT he isn’t electable. Are you serious? The U.S. Presidency has been reduced to a slightly idealistic version of a high school election. It’s a shame and this country will bare the consequences.

  • Keep Honkin I’m Reloading

I see the Prison Planet fucktards attacked en masse … how DARE their crazy ass Uncle Ron not win a poll? :|

Does Israel even want our foreign aid? This is from their PM.

“My friends, you don’t need to do nation building in
Israel. We’re already built. You don’t need to export democracy to
Israel. We’ve already got it. You don’t need to send American troops to
    defend Israel. We defend ourselves.”

~ Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,

May 2011 before the U.S. Congress

Ron Paul is right, let Israel have her sovereignty back. Stop giving Israel’s enemies money!

  • Lina

Ron Paul has a lot to say and it seems a few do not want him heard. I am normally a Dem but looking for something different. If we don’t change things now we are heading down a really bad road.

  • Elva

Herman Cain lied at the former debate when he said he didn’t ridicule attempts to audit the Fed. He is a banker cartel insider trying to deflect from the Fed’s activities and the importance of auditing to find out where trillions of dollars went. He is another smooth politician, a Republican Obama, who will continue the downward economic spiral. Why do you think corporate media is pushing him? He is as establishment as they get, a former Federal Reserve Director who won’t audit the Fed. Don’t be fooled.
