It seems some of the drums were stolen or vandalized, and the drummers asked the General Assembly to help them regroup. “We have worked for you! Appreciate us,” one drummer told the crowd, but the appeal was denied, and the Huff Post’s Craig Kanalley tweeted, “Drummer who didn’t get money from GA tonight now yelling, cursing at members of GA.” Meanwhile, another member of the drum corps was lashing out at the Community Board meeting.
“I am an occupier, I am a drummer, and, despite what they say, I am also a human being,” Ashley Love, a young member of the OWS People of Color Working Group, told the packed Community Board meeting last night. Mother Jones reports that Love was met with booing when she informed the locals, “It’s primarily a commercial area; not too many people live there. The majority of the drummers are people of color with low-income or no-income backgrounds, and Wall Street was built by slaves when they brought the Africans over here. The council people back then prohibited drumming because it was a way of protesting. It was a way of communication. And I just think you guys are scapegoating us.”

A thought hit me the other day.
OWS was staged to start at the end of September because Burning Man was held earlier at the beginning of month. It took a couple of weeks for the protesters to get home, wash the playa dust of their body and belongings then regroup in the major cities across the nation to further push their anti capitalist movement.

Occupier Drummers To Strike
Threaten to play the drum solo from Iron Butterfly’s, Inna Gadda Da Vida, non-stop until demands are met.
Union Drummers say “it’s for the children.” Promise to illegally strike, chant “racism”, parade with signs featuring Occupier leaders with Hitler mustaches, strong arm the face painters, and take over the ‘yoga tent’ until their demands are met.
How can they say their drums were stolen? They reject the idea of property ownership. Let’s just say their drums were liberated… or occupied.
Know what gets me about these people? They claim it’s “not a political thing”, yet 90% of them spew nothing but far-left Socialist crap. And don’t you dare disagree! Because if you do, some big gov loving chaperone will swoop on and “inform” you not to talk about “touchy” subjects such as the Fed.
Wanting to end the foreign occupations and the war on drugs is something I agree with, but their other “demands” consist of unworkable nonsense.
I tried to be patient and educate these folks, but they’re hypocritical idealists and you really can’t reason with people like that.
The solution to government tyranny is LESS government, not more. Is that really so hard for them to understand? Apparently so.
