Oakland: Men’s Warehouse Says It “Stands With The 99%” And Closes Store In Solidarity With Strike, Occupiers Respond By Smashing Their Window…

Feel good story of the day.

(The Atlantic) — You’re gonna like the way you look protesting income disparity in Oakland; this Men’s Wearhouse store guarantees it.

Occupy Oakland has called for a city-wide strike and rally on Wednesday to protest income inequality, and several businesses, including Men’s Wearhouse and the Grand Lake movie theater, have closed their doors in support. Oakland Tribune reporter Matt O’Brien tweeted the above photo of the shuttered men’s clothing store.

The store’s decision will likely meet with approval from the corporate HQ: George Zimmer, founder and chairman of Men’s Wearhouse, has repeatedly donated to Democratic candidates in multiple election cycles, including progressives like 2004 presidential candidate Howard Dean and Rep. Barbara Lee (Calif.).

And here’s how the protesters responded:

Broken glass is shown at a Men’s Warehouse building in downtown Oakland, Calif., Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 after a Occupy Wall Street protest earlier. Cleanup work is under way at Oakland’s city hall plaza the morning after a massive anti-Wall Street protest turned violent and chaotic. Graffiti is covering a number of businesses in the immediate area around Frank Ogawa Plaza, where thousands had gathered for a mostly peaceful protest Wednesday. Some windows also are broken, and debris is littering the street. (AP Photo/Paul Sakuma)

And just exactly how many Occupiers wear SUITS?

This is the dumbest move by any company, bar none.

    Dear Men’s Warehouse,

Thank you for making your position clear.

Here is my position….I will never do business with your company in the future. You are now on my list of “Never Step Foot Inside” companies. Congratulations! Mazel Tov.

And considering that George Zimmer advertises low prices, I wonder how well his employees are paid and what their benefits are. Are they just Walmart employees with suits?

Watch Oakland burn to the ground. And watch people stay away from the city and not go there to do business. And watch businesses that weren’t burned out wither away and die. And watch Oakland’s tax base disappear.

And watch them blame it on the “rich.”

The”occupiers” are obviously being trained by the same criminals who instigated arab springs and muz riots all over Europe. Cops pretty much stayed out of the way only for the criminals to cause untold damage.

The cops I guess are not going to do much to prevent this from getting worse. And it will get worse. These people really do want to destroy the country and keep the commies in office come the next election. This is only a preview.

    Off topic…

Three days ago I had issues with Sirius Radio that came to a head.

Previously, they wrongfully shut of my receiver in the car and 3 weeks AFTER they cashed my check that was paid in full 30 days BEFORE my contract expired, and I still DO NOT have their service to this date….so after my 5th call to them to get them to repair the damage THEY did to my 42k vehicle (AKA no satellite service), I bitched and whined and finally got to a Supervisor and while I had him on the phone, contacted my accountant of the other line and promptly sold 12,000 shares of Sirius. I politely told the Supervisor Agent of Sirius, to get fucked and refund my $168 for the next year service that THEY CASHED as I would use the I-Pod connection in the car and satellite service could just expire.

If you think I have a check coming….think again. They said, I can CREDIT it to other units but hell no… they keep my money EVEN THOUGH NO SERVICE IS RENDERED!!!!

Point being….we are Americans! We do not take this shit! Fuck these companies Sirius, GE, and Men’s Warehouse.

Our power is not with guns and protest, but with the most powerful checkbook. We should all band together and single out these “fuck customer over” companies and do absolutely everything in our power to drive them into bankruptcy.

Just to keep it straight…I don’t give a shit about the $168 they are screwing me out of, it’s the principle on the thing.

I remember the the 1951 version of “The Thing From Another World.” After the Thing (played by James Arness) had proven that it was not a friendly life form, Dr. Carrington believes that scientific discovery is more important than saving lives. He protects the Thing by sabotaging efforts to destroy it and even begins cultivating its seed pods. At the critical moment of the film, he reaches out to the Thing in a gesture of friendship and solidarity. For his trouble, the Thing tries to send him to Valhalla. The Thing simply did not care that the Doctor thought of himself as it’s friend.

How many times in history have “revolutionaries” turned on people who have tried to cozy up to them? How many times when the revolutionaries won, did they turn on members of their own ranks, when they no longer served a purpose? The French Revolution, The Night of the Long Knives, and Red Purges of the 1930s come to mind. You cannot control revolutionaries. They are monsters with a mind of their own. Just like the Thing, they don’t care about anyone. Men’s Warehouse could learn an important lesson from an old monster movie.
