Constitutional amendment requiring public financing of campaigns. Outside money, be it corporate or union, would be illegal.
Reinstate Glass Steagall
Criminal prosecution of corporate crimes such as “robo-signing” and insider trading
Single-payer healthcare

I’m not an occupier. I live about 15 minutes from Occupy Oakland. I head down there a few times a week. I’ve attended and voted in the General Assembly and marched in multiple rallies.
They have solar panels for power, and I’ve heard stationary bikes as well though I didn’t see any last night. Weather concerns aren’t as great here as other locations. Donation of food and clothing appear to be coming in steady. There’s a medical tent to deal with health issues. The occupation includes street medics and registered nurses. Last night organizers said metal health professionals are being brought in to deal with the many homeless people that are being fed and sheltered by the camp.
She certainly has mastered at least one word in the English language….

I hope Occupiers and OWS supporters recognize the efforts / donations / help that comes their way. For the most part, Americans are compassionate and caring people – this is what bothers me about the whole OWS business. It’s the actions of a few bad apples that will stick in our country’s collective memory.
The OWS rampage last week in DC, where I live, was frightening.
Is anarchy the best way to bring about change?
What would be the best approach to bridge the gap and facilitate positives with the OWS’ers. Maybe not the easiest question to answer b/c of the great diversity of thought and purpose.

I am aware of Obama’s fundraising and it’s unfortunate that the current reality of our system is that you have to take Wall St money to have any chance, so I don’t fault him for not standing on a principle which would guarantee a loss. However, I do fault him for many of his Treasury appointments such as Geitner and Summers and allowing those responsible for the economic collapse to go unpunished.
I never trust everything anyone does but I find the Republican party far more suspect.
And contrary to what I read throughout the conservative blogs, Obama doesn’t have a lot of fans in OWS, at least not here in Oakland. His re-election campaign offices near Occupy Oakland have been vandalized multiple times calling him a sell-out and whatnot
