NASA’s James Hansen Goes There: Texas Summer Heat Wave Was a Direct Result of “Global Warming”…
Reality: It was the result of a natural weather event known as La Niña.
And we pay this man’s salary.
(Houston Chronicle) — Well known climate scientist and activist James Hansen has a new paper on climate science titled, Climate Variability and Climate Change: The New Climate Dice.
In the paper he directly and without equivocation ties the Moscow (2010) and Texas (2011) heat waves to climate change:
Thus there is no need to equivocate about the summer heat waves in Texas in 2011 and Moscow in 2010, which exceeded 3σ — it is nearly certain that they would not have occurred in the absence of global warming. If global warming is not slowed from its current pace, by mid-century 3σ events will be the new norm and 5σ events will be common.
And later, he states:
The most important change of the climate dice is probably the appearance of extreme hot summer anomalies, with mean temperature at least three standard deviations greater than climatology, over about 10% of land area in recent years. These extreme temperatures were practically absent in the period of climatology, covering only a few tenths of one percent of the land area. Therefore we can say with a high degree of confidence that events such as the extreme summer heat in the Moscow region in 2010 and Texas in 2011 were a consequence of global warming.

Summer heat wave? Where? Not where I live! No one’s tomatoes would even ripen and we did not us a fan once. Actually, it was rather nice; except for the tomatoes.

The problem with Hansen’s science is that he (and others in the field) won’t share uncorrected data for peer review. The claims he makes periodically have no basis on anything that can be verified; they might as well have been pulled from thin air.
Additionally, no predictions have ever matched, or even come close to matching, actual climate records. Those paying attention know that Hansen, Gore, et al, have switched to ‘postdiction’, interpreting any and all weather as abnormal and therefore evidence of AGW. A 10 year prediction, publicly available and evaluated regularly, would not only validate the accuracy of the models but also promote improvements by involving more people.
Unless real science is not the point of this research.
Planet age – 4 billion years plus
Human awareness – 50,000 years (maybe)
Data tracking – 100 years or so

Post the temperatures by zip code and by day for each state or location. So we can see the data. But you can’t why????
In Phoenix they post the official temperature from Sky Harbor, an ever expanding Airport. It’s temperature is normally higher by 1 or 2 degrees compared to other zip codes in the Phoenix area. What would could cause this Climate Change? I think not. Let’s remove the concrete and I’ll bet you the temperature drops. Stick your climate change up your As Hole you pin head.
