This is OWS distilled to it’s essence.

Class envy, pure and simple. Instead of building themselves up, they’re going to try to bring everyone else down.

And they aren’t 99%. Maybe 9.9% and that’s being generous.

These wretches are human sinkholes. Their brains have been pithed by years of exposure to Alinskyite philosophy and poor education. These malcontents are morally bankrupt creatures who deserve no consideration whatsoever and should be dealt with harshly.

Daughter is selling a SUV and one of those who responded to her ad was a 16 year old HS student. Very well mannered – “yes mam, no mam”. He is looking for a car big enough to haul a trailor. “For a band?” daughter asked, assuming that at his age he was hauling around band equipment. Oh, no. Turns out this kid holds down 2 jobs as a dishwasher and has saved all his money to purchase a car capeable of towing a trailor for his lawn mowing service. I suspect his parents can afford to buy him a car but are allowing him to do it himself.

Kid will go far. Maybe he can hire an unemployed occupier.

Every successful college student that I know has worked every year since mid-high hool. They started babysitting and lawn mowing and graduated to retail and labor. Employers want to know that you will come to work every day, well rested and with a clear mind. They want to know, but cannot ask, that you are healthy enough and physically fit to work. Having a work history is the measure.
Everyone needs the instructive experience of working for the supervisor from hell for minimum wage.
So when you are tempted to send your high school students to band camps and sport camps all summer, or say they can’t work because they won’t make the swim team, or that art is more important, YOU are inhibiting their future employment possibilities. All those times you dropped off your kid at school and said “Have fun dear”, I was n the car behind dropping mine off saying “Work hard, son, and I’ll be asking you what you learned today.” When you sent you darling son off to college to find himself, I sent mine off with admonition that our family only pays for B and A grades, and four year maximum. Term limits. And BTW I expect you to pay 20% and all your books, so find a way.
When my engineering son applied for a government agency job to help pay for his studies, along with 7 other very well credentialed engineers, guess who got the job? His employer told him that he was the only one who had a real work history and she chose him because he had actually worked a labor job (landscaping).
In large part this new generation is suffering for the mistakes of their permissive parents. Really too bad, so sorry. But you are on your own now. Take stock and improve your lives. Remember the first law of holes (stop digging). There are a lot off people out there who are actually willing to compete with you for any job at all.
Sometimes, maybe usually, the right medicine is a bitter pill. Take it and move on.

Love it. My philosophy exactly – and also that of a few of my friends. I also went to engineering school and knew guys with better grades than mine, but I got two job offers before I graduated. Worked every Summer and even at times while I was playing varsity sports in school.

These kids have finally hit the “real” world and can’t handle it. It’s the parents fault in many ways, from coddling their precious little babies, to allowing the indoctrination to happen in school.

Wasn’t the coddling evident on American Idol? I remember one chick who just couldn’t believe how Simon was insulting her. Instead of learning from it she had a smart a$$ reply back. After all mommy told her her entire life how wonderful she was.

We, too, made our kids pay for their college education. We bought their books, they bought their education. They could live rent free if they maintained their grades and were full-time students. When they cut back in school rent was instated. My kids also worked while in school. Some years full time, some not. They made that choice. One is a certified teacher, another a GIS Specialist with her degree as a cartographer, the other is in management at a local hospital, billing department.

This is just scum we are dealing with and we have spineless authority letting them get away literally with murder!

As a manager who hires and fires technicians, engineers and clerical types; I will always give preferential treatment to kids whose resumes has summer jobs, worked as laborer etc. I will pass over resumes of those who spent their whole lives in school and graduated with a 4.0. I want the kid who might have been the first in his family to graduate college with a 2.5 and appreciates his job.

I’m a Dem, and I think OWS is ridiculous. Bravo to these bankers for getting out there with their signs. I understand unemployment is high, but I have no sympathy for people who are without a job wasting their time pulling crap like this instead of using their time wisely to try to find a job. I know it can get frustrating. But, you have to keep digging until you find something. There are jobs out there. You have to not give up. Do your research, learn to be the absolute best at interviewing, know what it takes to be the standout. Do the due deligence it takes. I was out of a job recently. Did I sit around crying about other people having more than me? No. I spent 8 hours a day using every resource possible, learning everything I can about current trends in interviewing and resume writing, and landed the best job of my life in 8 weeks. So, stop already. Be productive. Get off your asses and look for something. Don’t blame others for having more. Don’t cry about being a victim. Just f’n do it! That’s like those people who cry about how unfair Walmart is. Hey, if you don’t like it, don’t work there and don’t shop there. But, don’t blame Sam for being a successful businessman. The customers are the ones who put Walmart in the position they are in. Okay, I’m done. Next up on the soapbox?

The rule of law does not mean that the protection of the law must be available only to a fortunate few or that the law should be allowed to be prostituted by the vested interests for protecting and upholding the status quo under the guise of enforcement of their civil and political rights. The poor too have civil and political rights and rule of law is meant for them also, though today it exists only on paper and not in reality. If the sugar barons and the alcohol kings have the fundamental right to carry on their business and to fatten their purses by exploiting the consuming public, have the chamars belonging to the lowest strata of society no fundamental right to earn an honest living through their sweat and toil? mahatma gandhi

Hey, if you’re not happy in your current job, find another. Don’t give me crap about there not being anything out there, or the government is taking our rights away, etc. We vote for the people who are in power. We put the Walmarts and the like in power by shopping there and accepting work there. We have a choice whom to vote for. We have a choice where to spend our money. We have a choice where to work. When accepting a job the terms are not dictated to you and you have no say. No, when getting a job offer, you are the person deciding whether or not to accept the terms. If you don’t like the terms, negotiate, don’t accept, whatever. We are not “slaves” to the man. We control our own destiny. Every one of us is our own boss. We decide what service we offer, we decide our rates, we decide which customers to reach out to (employers), and we decide whether or not to take an assignment. Running your own life is no different from running a company. I challenge you to prove me wrong. If we are not happy with our government, then we have nobody but ourselves to blame – we put them there. If we are not happy with our wages, then we have nobody but ourselves to blame – we accepted the terms. It all depends on how hard you are willing to work for it, and what you are willing to accept. This crap is driving me nuts. I’m just tired of everybody blaming their problems on everybody else and not accepting an ounce of responsibility.

In all the History of America when the people had a complaint, they took it straight to the White House or DC in massive protest. So what has changed in that the people have now gone elsewhere to protest? Was it not Obama that bailed out the Banks, Car Companies and filtered money to his cronies in the Green Energy Companies. And where are the War Protesters of days gone by? Are we not in Iraq, Afghanistan, bombing Libya, Pakistan and Africa?

There is a massive protest planned in front of the white house do your research. I’m not going to sit here and waists my time attempting to explain to people what they should already know. History is about to repeat itself in the worst way… Perhaps you will wake up when they are dragging your asses to FEMA camps. Perhaps you should research camp 84′s and the new law Obama just passed stating that “terrorists” (no definition of terrorist given in bill passed) will be detained indefinitely even if a judge and/or jury say they can be released. The fact that everyone lives life like the ostriches they are with their heads in the ground in hopes that things will “work themselves out” is the reason why our world is in this mess….
