Virginia Elementary School Indoctrinating Third-Graders With Occupy Sing-Along: “They Want More Money, They’re The 1%. . . I’m Happy To Be Part Of The 99%”…

A reader sent over a sing-along pamphlet being used at the Woodbrook Elementary School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Academia indoctrinating college students is bad enough, but to have third-graders sing about class warfare and rail against the one percent is evil and a violation of the trust parents put in them.

Here’s a transcription of the song:

Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percent

I used to be one of the 1 percent
I worked all the time
Never saw my family
Couldn’t make life rhyme
Then the bubble burst
It really, really hurt
I lost my money
Lost my pride
Lost my home
Now I’m part of the 99

Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percent

I used to be sad, now I’m satisfied
’Cause I really have enough
Though I lost my yacht and plane
Didn’t need that extra stuff
Could have been much worse
You don’t need to be first
’Cause I’ve got my friends
Here by my side
Don’t need it all
I’m so happy to be part of the 99

Hollywood Moonbat George Clooney: “I’m Disillusioned By The People Who Are Disillusioned By Obama”….

Darth Vader said it best:

NEW YORK — Hollywood loves the Next Big Thing, and four years ago, that was Barack Obama, the equivalent of a breakout movie star.

“He is ‘The One,’” said Oprah Winfrey, his biggest and most influential celebrity champion.

“The best candidate I’ve ever seen,” said George Clooney.

Halle Berry said she’d “collect paper cups off the ground to make his pathway clear.” Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am chimed in with the famous “Yes We Can” video.

But you can’t be the Next Big Thing twice and as a new election year dawns, there’s clearly a different mood in heavily Democratic Hollywood.

That means less gushing, not to mention snippets of criticism, most prominently from actor Matt Damon, who campaigned for Obama last time but now makes no secret of his disillusionment.

“I think he misinterpreted his mandate,” Damon said earlier this year. He recently told Elle magazine the country would have been better off with a one-term president with guts, although he used a saltier word. [...]

“I love the president like most of us,” Sean “Diddy” Combs told Source magazine this year. “I just want the president to do better.”

And will.i.am, creator of that viral video that ended with the word “HOPE,” told The New York Times earlier this year: “I don’t want to hope anymore.” Asked if he was disappointed in Obama, he said: “I don’t feel disappointed. I feel like, Argggh! Speak louder! I feel like, Do something!”

What about core Obama celebrity supporters Clooney and Winfrey? Far from being disillusioned with Obama, Clooney said recently: “I’m disillusioned by the people who are disillusioned by Obama.”

“Democrats eat their own,” the actor said. “I’m a firm believer in sticking by and sticking up for the people whom you’ve elected.” He went on to list the accomplishments of the Obama administration, wondering why Democrats weren’t selling them better.

Rasmussen Poll: Congress’ Approval Rating At All-Time Low, 5%…

What I want to know is who the 5% are? Escaped mental patients?

Via Rasmussen:

Just when you think the numbers couldn’t get any worse for Congress, the end of session debacle over the payroll tax extension comes along and drives perceptions of Congress even lower.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just five percent (5%) of Likely Voters rate the job Congress is doing as good or excellent. Sixty-eight percent (68%) view Congress’ job performance as poor.

Pelosi: “Onward To Victory” Democratic Soldiers!…

Drew —

Midnight Tonight is the single most important test our campaign will face in 2011 to win the Democratic Majority.

Tonight we may ring in the New Year, but it also marks the deadline for Democrats to report fundraising totals to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). The Republicans, the media and the pundits like to use those 2011 Year-End fundraising totals as a measure of our strength and determination to win in 2012.

We have less than 24 hours left and we are just $27,023 away from our $1 million challenge. Please give an urgent gift of just $3 before the deadline. All gifts will be matched 2-to-1.

Onward to victory in the New Year,

Nancy Pelosi

Will Obama steal the 2012 election?

Another brilliant essay by Jeffrey T. Kuhner.

(The Washington Times) — Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. claims Jim Crow is returning. In a recent speech, Mr. Holder said that attempts by states to pass voter identification laws will disenfranchise minorities, rolling back the clock to the evil days of segregation. He said that a growing number of minorities fear that “the same disparities, divisions and problems” now afflict America as they did in 1965 prior to the Voting Rights Act. According to the Obama administration, our democracy is being threatened by racist Republicans. Hence, the Justice Department must prevent laws requiring a photo ID to vote from being enacted.

Mr. Holder argues that voter ID laws disproportionately discriminate against poor blacks and Hispanics — citizens who cannot afford to acquire a driver’s license, passport or other form of photo identification. The latest victim is South Carolina; its voter ID law has been blocked by the Justice Department. Liberal Democrats — taking their cue from the White House — are portraying the national movement for election reform as an authoritarian assault upon civil liberties. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has even petitioned the United Nations, asking it to declare states’ voter ID laws human rights abuses. For the radical left, America has become Vladimir Putin’s Russia.

This would be comical if the consequences were not so serious. South Carolina’s legislation provides for free ID cards to be given to anyone who needs it. Not one person — white, black or brown — is discriminated against or discouraged from casting a vote at the ballot box. Moreover, the Supreme Court already has ruled on the issue — upholding state voter ID laws. In the 2008 Crawford v. Marion County Election Board decision, the high court held that an Indiana law mandating photo identification at the voting booth was indeed constitutional. If it is good enough for the Supreme Court and the overwhelming majority of the states, then it should be for Mr. Holder as well.

It isn’t. And the reason is simple: The administration is trying to whip up minority frenzy, propagating the myth of widespread ballot suppression. The goal is to foster a sense of racial persecution of blacks, intending to maximize voter turnout in November. The results, however, will be to poison race relations further. Mr. Holder is cynically playing the race card in order to achieve President Obama’s overriding ambition: re-election.

Racism has nothing to do with states implementing voter ID laws. Rather, it is about protecting the integrity of our electoral system. . . .

Pakistani Taliban Declare School Girls Playing Sports Un-Islamic, Commence Bombing Campaign…

What isn’t “un-Islamic” to these 7th-century cave dwellers?

KHYBER AGENCY — Sporting or extra-curricular activities have become a new Taliban-imposed taboo for tribal students as militants targeted two schools in the Khyber tribal region for letting students, including girls, compete in sports or cultural events.

Areas under Taliban control in parts of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa already endured a strict ban on playing and listening to music.

“The Taliban . . . are now looking for soft targets after being frustrated by continuous successes in military operations in different parts of FATA,” Fazal Manan, director of education of FATA, told Central Asia Online.

“Girls’ education is also considered un-Islamic by these self-proclaimed champions of the religion of Islam. . . . They have now started targeting schools where students, particularly girls, had participated in any extra-curricular activities.”

Militants have destroyed almost 450 schools in the tribal regions, he said.

The Taliban destroyed two schools in Jamrud and Landi Kotal tehsils of Khyber Agency December 18 and December 22. The attacks came after girls attending a Jamrud school competed in a sporting gala and after boys at a Landi Kotal private school organised a cultural show to mark the end of their school year. The regional Directorate of Sports in Peshawar administered both events.

Abdullah Ezaam Brigade, an auxiliary of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Khyber Agency, claimed responsibility for both bombings and warned of more such attacks if students, particularly girls, continued such activities. However, FATA Director of Sports Faisal Jameel is defiant and promises more such sporting contests in the future to attract tribal girls to healthy activities.

Karzai Thanks The Obama Admin For Biden Saying The Taliban Isn’t America’s Enemy…

Good grief.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Saturday welcomed remarks from the Obama administration that the Taliban were not necessarily America’s enemies.

Earlier this month, Vice President Joe Biden said in an interview with Newsweek magazine that the Islamist militants did not represent a threat to U.S. interests unless they continued to shelter al-Qaida.

“Look, the Taliban per se is not our enemy. That’s critical. There is not a single statement that the president has ever made in any of our policy assertions that the Taliban is our enemy because it threatens U.S. interests,” Biden was quoted as saying by Newsweek.

The Obama administration and other governments are trying to establish a peace process with the Taliban to help end the 10-year war.

“I am very happy that the American government has announced that the Taliban are not their enemies,” Karzai said in a speech to the Afghan Academy of Sciences. “We hope that this message will help the Afghans reach peace and stability.”

Obama Aides Say He Will Bypass Congress And Focus On Executive Orders During Reelection Campaign, “At Least Two Or Three Per Week”…

Sic semper tyrannis!

HONOLULU (AP) — Leaving behind a year of bruising legislative battles, President Barack Obama enters his fourth year in office having calculated that he no longer needs Congress to promote his agenda and may even benefit in his re-election campaign if lawmakers accomplish little in 2012.

Absent any major policy pushes, much of the year will focus on winning a second term. The president will keep up a robust domestic travel schedule and aggressive campaign fundraising and use executive action to try to boost the economy.

Aides say the president will not turn his back on Congress completely in the new year. He is expected to once again push lawmakers to pass elements of his jobs bill that were blocked by Republicans last fall.

If those efforts fail, the White House says, Obama’s re-election year will focus almost exclusively on executive action.

Earnest said Obama will come out with at least two or three directives per week, continuing the “We Can’t Wait” campaign the administration began this fall, and try to define Republicans in Congress as gridlocked and dysfunctional.

Campaign officials say Obama will fully engage in the re-election campaign once the Republicans pick their nominee. He will focus almost exclusively on campaigning after the late summer Democratic National Convention, barring unexpected developments at home or abroad.

Occupy Charlotte Defends Burning American Flags, “Did It To Display Utter Contempt For American Greed”…

Hogtie the POS’ and drop them off at the local VFW.

(Fox News) — Some members of the Occupy Wall Street group in Charlotte, N.C., are under fire for setting American flags ablaze, but one of the protesters is defending his incendiary actions.

“Those were actions taken on my behalf,” Occupy Charlotte member Alex Tyler said at a camp meeting, according to a Charlotte Observer report. “I did it to display my utter contempt for American greed, not (the military).”

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged Tyler and three other men with arson and setting fire to woods in the area of tents that previously housed members of the local Occupy movement. A police report says the men caused the fire by burning two American flags.

Burning a flag is not illegal, but local police say the protest violated the law because a fire pit wasn’t used.

Virginia Attorney General Intervenes in GOP Primary Ballot Dispute

Tragedy averted.

(FOX News) — Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is intervening in the Virginia presidential primary dispute and plans to file emergency legislation to address the inability of most Republican presidential candidates to get their name on the ballot, Fox News has learned.

Only Mitt Romney and Ron Paul qualified for the Virginia primary, a contest with 49 delegates up for grabs.

The failure of other candidates to qualify — notably Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry — led to complaints that the 10,000-signature requirement is too stringent.

Cuccinelli, who is a Republican, shared the concerns.

“Recent events have underscored that our system is deficient,” he said in a statement. “Virginia owes her citizens a better process. We can do it in time for the March primary if we resolve to do so quickly.”

Cuccinelli’s proposal is expected to state that if the Virginia Board of Elections certifies that a candidate is receiving federal matching funds, or has qualified to receive them, that candidate will upon request be automatically added to the ballot.

Two former Democratic attorneys general are also backing the move, along with a former Democratic state party chairman and a former Republican state party chairman.

Former state Attorney General Tony Troy called the Virginia process a “legal and constitutional embarrassment.”

Fellow former top Virginia prosecutor Steve Rosenthal said: “This is not a Democratic or Republican issue. If it takes emergency legislation, then we need to do it.”

Sources told Fox News that Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell is expected to support the emergency legislation as well.

Perry has meanwhile filed a lawsuit, while a local activist has filed another lawsuit on Gingrich’s behalf — though the individual is not with the campaign.

Ron Paul Says He Can “Connect” With Occupy Wall Street…

Only Ron Paul and the Democratic party would consider this a good thing.

(CNS News) — Appearing on Jan Mickelson’s radio show on WHO in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday morning, Rep. Ron Paul, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, said he believes he is the candidate that “can connect with both” the Tea Party movement and the Occupy movement.

Paul’s observation came after Mickelson asked him about a group of Occupiers who were protesting at Paul’s Iowa campaign office on Thursday morning.

The Iowa Republican presidential caucuses will take place this Tuesday.

Here is a transcript of Mickelson’s and Paul’s exchange [...]

Paul: “Last week, I believe, we had a rally and people on the staff were worried. You know: Occupiers are there, occupiers are there. They’re in the front row. What are you going to do? What are you going to do? Should we call the police? I said no: Just relax a little bit. And there was no ruckus, and afterwards I shook a lot of hands. They come up to me and they say: We are from the Occupy movement but we support you. So, I figure that, you know, an open viewpoint about the Constitution and freedom and attacking some of the things that they don’t like — they don’t like the bailouts, and I don’t like the bailouts. So, there are some things that we can agree on. I think the Tea Party movement and the Occupy movement are motivated for different reasons, but they come together because they don’t trust government anymore and that’s why I think I can connect with both groups.”

Romney’s Son Makes Innocent Birth Certificate Joke: Team Obama Promptly Feigns Outrage, Uses Opportunity As Another Excuse To Ask For Money…

Never let a (manufactured) crisis go to waste.

(CBS News) — After Mitt Romney’s son made a “birther” joke on the campaign trail, he quickly apologized and downplayed the taboo remarks. President Obama’s re-election team, however, is keeping the moment alive and hoping to earn a few bucks off of it.

At an event in New Hampshire today, Romney’s adult son Matt Romney responded to a question regarding the potential release of his father’s tax returns with a joke alluding to doubts about Mr. Obama’s place of birth: “I heard someone suggest the other day that as soon as Obama releases his grades and birth certificate and sort of a long list of things, then maybe he’d do it,” he said. [...]

In an email to supporters today about the joke, Obama for America campaign manager Jim Messina wrote, “This is how the Romney campaign thinks it’s going to win the Republican primary: by pandering to the dead-ender fringe of extremists who still question where the president was born.”

While asking for a donation, Messina said, “we can drive up the cost of this kind of politics. . . when they do this, you’ve got to do something about it.”

Gross: U.S. Transfers $40 Million In Aid To Palestinians…

Total waste of Americans hard-earned tax dollars.

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The United States transferred $40 million in foreign assistance to the Palestinians.

The Associated Press reported Thursday that congressional lawmakers released the funds, which amount to 20 percent of the $187 million in foreign assistance from fiscal year 2011 that was held up by Congress in response to the Palestinians’ actions at the United Nations.

The assistance that the U.S. is for humanitarian and economic purposes and not for security assistance.

The release of the 2011 funds comes after an omnibus 2012 appropriations package passed by Congress earlier this month included restrictions that would limit any assistance to the Palestinians if they continued with their efforts to achieve member status at the United Nations.

Tingles: Liberals Are Not Haters…

Sarah Palin begs to differ.

Via Newsbusters:

Chris Matthews showed up from Java Joe’s in Des Moines in the 11 am hour on MSNBC Friday to underline the liberal arrogance that in the Obama era, all the country’s hatred is against Obama, and apparently liberals are utterly incapable of adding anything to the Hate Quotient.

“I heard a voice this morning a woman came up to me and said I’m really for Obama, but I want to end these years of hatred. Now if people start voting for the Republicans because there’s too much divisiveness because of Obama, that’s real trouble for the White House,” Matthews said. He then declared: “In other words, the way to end the hatred in America is to get rid of the object of the hatred. Well, that’s a strange way to do things.”

Occupy Wall Street Allocates $100,000 for Bail Money

Because in addition to being just like the Tea Party, they’re also like the Boy Scouts — Be Prepared.

(Village Voice) — At last night’s General Assembly, Occupy Wall Street passed a proposal to set up a $100,000 fund solely for bailing people out of jail. It’s the largest chunk of funds that OWS has allocated for one purpose, and represents nearly a third of the budget. The fund is meant to get protesters out of jail following direct actions, which historically have ended in multiple arrests — or mass arrests, like on the Brooklyn Bridge back in September.

According to OWS media team member Jeff Smith, “we didn’t change any of the stipulations on who gets bail and how much.” Three thousand dollars is still the maximum bail allowed, except for under special circumstances (like with Joshua Fellows, whose bail was set at $25,000. The movement agreed to pay it. the bail was apparently paid by a third party, not OWS itself).

The new bail budget is effective immediately. Policies are already in place for who gets bail and who doesn’t — according to Smith, any kind of violent offense would require consensus to bail the person out, while smaller offenses that go along with the territory of direct actions (trespassing, disorderly conduct, etc) can dip into the bail fund automatically.

Last night the protesters also voted to send money to Occupy Oakland, in the neighborhood of $25,000.
