Why would there need to be a “filter” in place to allow volunteers through?? Isn’t there laws against domestic terrorism?? What about the “free” flow of commerce?? These idiots need to be dealt with quickly and with full force of the law!

This is pretty pedantic. Obviously there was no intent to keep food from those in need. It’s too bad some of these right-wing zealots getting the knickers in a twist don’t have the guts to stand up to their corporate masters. Then maybe some of these hungry people would have jobs and could buy their own food. Corporate America knows that the easiest way to improve the bottom line is to dump a bunch of Jobs. I just read that this year the 20 highest paid CEOs cut 50,000 American jobs this year, and 13 of them actually lowered the wages of their employees.

And as for Gov. Bev, she has just handed the keys to the governor’s mansion to Pat McCrory. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are tired of picking his arse off the floor and driving him home from campaign events. Now that will fall to the State Troopers, as if they didn’t have enough problems. Come to NC for the BBQ, stay for the political circus!

That means the port is blocked. For ALL uses. They’re either smart enough to know that ports are used for lots of things, and therefore didn’t care (and intended) to block delivery, or they aren’t bright enough to know that a port is more than “a capitalist tool of the evil 1%” (or whatever baloney they wrap around their ‘thoughts’), in which case we also now know something important about the Occupiers.

What right-wing zealots are you referring to? Nobody on this thread has so identified, so where are you seeing this (and why are you not commenting on it THERE instead of HERE)?

Additionally, how do you know they have “corporate masters”? And how do you know they are NOT “standing up to” them? Seems as if you’ve already made so very many perilous assumptions that one can probably safely ignore anything you have to say as demented, ill informed (if not completely uninformed) and totally off the rails. I’m pretty sure corporate America (at least a select slice) would have been more than happy to dump a bunch of Jobs, unfortunately there was only one Steve and he’s already “dumped.” Other than Steve Jobs, I don’t know of any other Jobs that they dump. Certainly none which improve their bottom line. Oops, I did it again – I assumed you were literate. My bad. You were just mis-capitalizing there, right? You meant “little j” jobs? Well, yeah, it’s not just corporate America, but anybody with a lick of business sense, who can tell you that you improve the bottom line drastically in the short term by dumping jobs. It’s one of the most effective short-term cost cutting measures available, as it instantly reduces overhead (expense). Why is that a bad thing? And you just read (where? citation, please) something about the 20 highest paid CEOs? Who cut jobs? So they brought profitability in trying economic times to their company, keeping it out of the bankruptcy courts and alive and profitable, yet this is a bad thing? 13 of them lowered wages? Hm, were the employees forced at gunpoint to accept those wages, and prevented from seeking other jobs? If “no”, then you realize your point is invalid for use in supporting your argument, right, since they *chose* to accept that lower pay? Just checking. And your solution would be what, exactly? A company should go under if it ever needs to let go an employee? Companies must never lower wages? Companies must never fire employees? I call shenanigans, and that only because I’m trying to stay family-friendly.
