Commie-Infested Hollywood Opens Their Wallets For Another Round of Hope And Change…

And God only knows how much the Moonbat brigade has raised for the various pro-Obama PACs.

(CNS News) — A number of big names from the entertainment industry have contributed to President Barack Obama’s campaign for a second term in office and to the Democratic National Committee.

According to the campaign contribution data on the OpenSecrets.org Web site, actor George Clooney is renewing his support for President Obama in 2011 with a $2,500 contribution for the primary and another $2,500 donation for the presidential race — total $5,000. (Each primary, runoff, and general election counts as a separate election.) Clooney’s contributions are up from the maximum individual donation of $2,300 that he gave Obama in the 2008 campaign (also then $2,300 for the primary and then another $2,300 in the general election for Obama.)

Clooney gave the maximum $30,800 to the DNC on April 26, 2011, the same day he gave the two donations for the Obama primary and general election.

Tom Hanks, a two-time Oscar winner for Best Actor, is also, like Clooney, renewing his support for President Obama. Hanks gave two $2,500 donations (primary and general race) to Obama on Apr. 26, 2011. He also gave the maximum $30,800 to the DNC that same day.

Actor Michael Douglas, who recently renewed his role as Wall Street wizard Gordon Gekko in “Money Never Sleeps,” donated $2,000 to Barack Obama on May 5, 2011. Michael’s father, Kirk Douglas, gave the maximum $2,500 to Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) on June 23.

Filmmaker Steven Spielberg went all out, giving $30,800 to the DNC on Apr. 26; $8,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on July 31; and two $2,500 donations to Barack Obama on Apr. 26.

Spielberg also gave the maximum $2,500 to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Aug. 25; two $2,500 donations to Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) on June 21; another $2,500 to Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) on Mar. 31; and another $2,500 to Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.) on Sept. 19.

Some of Spielberg’s fellow filmmakers joined him in directing their contributions toward Democratic causes. Director Ron Howard gave $1,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, while Rob Reiner and Cameron Crowe donated $5,000 and $500, respectively, to the same committee. Crowe also contributed the yearly maximum of $2,500 to President Obama (for both primary and general election, total: $5,000).

Singer-songwriter Neil Young gave the maximum: $30,800 to the DNC on Apr. 22, and two $2,500 donations to Obama on Apr. 12.

Neil’s wife, Pegi Young, also gave the maximum: $30,800 to the DNC and two $2,500 donations to Obama on Apr. 14, 2011.

Five-time Grammy Award winner James Taylor matched Young’s contributions to both the DNC Services Corp. and President Obama, giving the maximum annual contributions.

and hollywood cannot figure out why so few people are watching and paying for their crap?? there was recently a story by reuters that ticket sales are at a decade low.

I know that new movie “war horse” by spielburg, I know several of my family refused to go to it because of spielburg’s leftist pokitics.

We don’t walk into a movie theatre anymore. I don’t believe those that promote communism should profit from capitalism.

    a former dem,
From another former dem, you are right. We don’t go. I think the same should be done to these alphabet propaganda spewing stations who call themselves news. Quit watching, and the sponsors will stop advertising.

I think the movie of Spielberg is going to flop. He’s poison anymore.

Hollywood makes nothing but computer generated crap with voice overs. I refuse to see crap, and the list of has been’s is getting longer who donate.

It’s like all of a sudden every has been actor has a ghost problem and gets their face plastered on Celebrity Ghost Stories.

Don’t be stupid, save your money aren’t you tired of seeing their tired asses in your face telling you to vote for a commie bastard.

Yep, and most of my family are still dems, but they are the older JFK conservative type dems. They cannot stand any dems now.

They will watch and pay for no movies, not one. Unless its by people they respect, and that list is very small, actors like Gary Senise, etc.

When did Neil Young become an American citizen? Maybe he did — I just haven’t heard about it. But it would be funny if he became a citizen of a country he has badmouthed in so many of his songs.

I find it hilarious all these golden globes nominations for movies and actors are all most americans haven’t heard of or watched.

Its like Hollywood is its own bubble, bunch of elitist leftist millionaires preaching and making fun of the bitter clingers, and then wonder why those same bitter clingers don’t go and pay to watch their crap.

This is what Hollywood is releasing as to movies on Christmas day: vampires and war, in various combinations. Blood-sucking zombies and dismemberment for entertainment.

I think that says all anyone with any decency needs to know about “Hollywood” today.

  15. Visitor Here says:
    December 22, 2011 at 8:46 pm

And, oh, I forgot, a film about evil ghosts of depraved criminals back again to inflict evil on the living. That’s also among Hollywood’s Christmas Day release.

  16. Visitor Here says:

@ NJK and a former dem:

I agree about avoiding films based upon the offensive politics of the filmmaker/s (or those featured in the films).

I was a big JJ Abrams fan until I read that he’s a big Pelosi donor and organizes “Hollywood” fundraisers/parties for her. No way I’ll ever take his work serioiusly since finding that out about him.

Young has lived in California since the 70s but retains Canadian citizenship. He has no problem living here, making money here, contributing to bad politicians here, but he doesn’t want to be a citizen of here.

Has anyone noticed that back when there were openly Conservative people running Hollywood like Charlton Heston and John Ford, I mean back in the 50′s & 60′s that much of the “entertainment” was fairly decent and many serial programs provided moral story lines for the family. In my life time I have watched as it has progressively gotten to the point that reality shows presenting the complete lack of any moral turpitude now rule the programming. I guess that is what the “progressive” part of liberal progressive really means, progress downward along the path of social decline.

Dumb em down…so you can control them…baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaa
    baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarry!

Hollyweird can KMA. On 1st January 2012 I`m cancelling DirecTV…and possibly Netflix too. Those bastards won`t get another cent of my money.

Beck’s got the right idea with internet-access programming. He’s been saying broadcast TV is over; the players just haven’t realized it yet. Internet programming is going to follow the marketplace. If you’re willing to pay for it, someone will provide it.

Beck’s not only got his Mon-Thurs (for all intents and purposes) two-hour show, he’s also got Liberty Treehouse for kids and is starting a new show on Jan. 19 about a family that goes off the grid. All that for $5/month? Just the info you get from one of his news shows is worth $5.

All this is chump-change compared to the money laundering committed under MF Global, Solyndra, LightSquared, etc. Where do you think that money went? Right back into Obama’s war chest.

Who else thinks Beck and even Savage had a price, and Obama’s group paid them to attack Gingrich within a day of one another? Savage has $1m to offer Gingrich not to run? No way he’s that wasteful or has that much to throw around. And Beck certainly knows what would happen with Ross Perot, er, Ron Paul getting in as a 3rd party.

    Follow the money.
