“Occupy Is Sexy” — Major Museums Across Country Frantically Collecting OWS Materials…

NEW YORK (AP) — Occupy Wall Street may still be working to shake the notion it represents a passing outburst of rage, but some establishment institutions have already decided the movement’s artifacts are worthy of historic preservation.
More than a half-dozen major museums and organizations from the Smithsonian Institution to the New-York Historical Society have been avidly collecting materials produced by the Occupy movement.
Staffers have been sent to occupied parks to rummage for buttons, signs, posters and documents. Websites and tweets have been archived for digital eternity. And museums have approached individual protesters directly to obtain posters and other ephemera.
The Museum of the City of New York is planning an exhibition on Occupy for next month.
“Occupy is sexy,” said Ben Alexander, who is head of special collections and archives at Queens College in New York, which has been collecting Occupy materials. “It sounds hip. A lot of people want to be associated with it.”

Probably the 1st definition tends to be fitting.
This would be just fine of the collections included all of the signs advocating communism, anarchy, and the socialist revolution. It should also include some commentary on all of the sexual assaults, deaths, and physical violence against people who disagreed with the OWS message.
Heard an interview I think or read something, too much info for recall…. but some researcher said about this “movement” is underneath all the political pretense is just a bunch of lost people who desperately need something to believe in and belong to a family they never had.

@Hickster… guess that’s very similar… cults etc. These particular people were raised this way in day care. I recall in the late 70s early 80s that this generation had their parents in fear of them. They defied all authority from a very early age and the PC courts encouraged it.

Been around a lot of drugs and drug users in my earlier life, I recognize that dopey look they both have, no doubt in my mind, heroin. OWS is sexy like the hippie communes were in the 60′s, seemingly awesome from a distance but once you’re up close you can see the living conditions suck, hardship is a way of life and unless you’re a leader you are going to have to work like you would on a real job. That’s the way I see ‘em, angry communes on public property living in their own crap in full view of a mostly disapproving population.
They will try to convince future generations that this was a great movement, like how they tell people woodstock was great. Its propaganda.
THATS what the museums grabbing OWS crap is about. Its not about now, but the future. Telling our children how they stood strong against the ebil republicans, and were all about the people, peace and love, against greedy wallstreet, blah blah blah.
Those of us who actually paid attention know the truth here. Bunch of brainwashed rats living in their own filth, not knowing what they were protesting, even contradicting each other (capialism is bad, but they all want a living wage?) who were sucked in by our ruined and failed education system and its socialist teachings.
So watch, in 10 years or so (maybe alot sooner!) they will start telling us and our children that these dredges of society were warriors fighting for freedom. Its a no brainer.

Of the street drugs, from what I’ve read, seen and heard (through hospital work) this heroin is for sure one of the deadliest. Also, have heard that the heroin nowadays is many times stronger than what it was in the 60′s and 70′s. Many deaths.

Nothing will ever be done about heroin, cocaine, their derivatives or other illegal drugs because death among the populace is an imperative feature of “Progressives”. (The Weather Underground – Bill Ayer’s terror group – stated in the 70s that they would need to kill off at least 25 million Americans.) This idea was codified by the dreadful Margaret Sanger, whose eugenics was adopted by Hitler and promulgated by Planned Parenthood for population control in order to weed out racial and physical “undesirables”.

Yeah, I remember the “Woodstock” generation. I remember the stupidity, the unrealistic idealism, the lives wasted by drugs and STD’s. I remember friends who took trips and never came back or whose personality changed to sheer self-indulgence and rottenness. “If it feels good do it” was the road to narcissism and death.
The older I got, the more I realized how lied to and how deceived that whole generation was. I’ve shaken my head in disbelief at some people waxing nostalgic over the hippy era. I really don’t have any fond memories of that time. And I look at the OWS and see a hippy redux. I look at the two kids in the photo above and feel remorse and sadness for them, because it makes me remember the wasted, empty lives.
Try as they might, a sow’s ear will never be a silk purse, no matter how much attention they pay to it.
I do hope they sanitize the stuff before putting it on display.

In all fairness, I have not yet seen evidence of any excrement on a cop car. All that has been shown is what I call a “set-up” photo which is nothing more than an expression of sentiment, not an act of actual defecation. I’m not a fan of OWS by any means but I am fair-minded. Show me the proof.

The guy-crapping-on-the-cop-car photos was doctored so that the crap was erased from the photo. I saw the photo when it was first out in the media making the rounds and there was a wide, nasty trail of crap under that man’s backside. It was absolutely disgusting. He was totally doing his thing.
I wasn’t surprised to see that the actual brown stuff was swiftly photoshopped out of the picture. It was gross. But now that is backfiring and people are saying, “No one really crapped on a cop car!”
Figures. Oh well. I know what I saw and it was enough to convince me of the real sprit of OWS back when it started.
