Update: Post has been changed, after listening to it again he did say the word black (at least I think he did), but it most certainly wasn’t in a racist manner.
Here’s what it honestly sounds like:
“I don’t want to make . . . mmbligh . . . people’s lives better”
Update II: A new clearer version is up on Mediaite and even cranky liberal Tommy Christopher says he thinks Santorum stumbled through the sentence and was misquoted by CBS News.

I believe this would fall under “libel” even for a public figure like Santorum.
It’s also projection on the part of the caption-writer. It is he, not Santorum, who sees race in welfare policy.
Actually he does say it unless it’s suggested it was added to the audio. I listened to it repeatedly.
We better get used to it. Once Kim Jung Bho has an official opponent, his partners in the state run media will be committing plenty of libel.
Conservatives have always known of the MSM’s liberal bias, so anything they erroneously report (with intent or not) will not sway conservatives, however the independents are the ones who are often confused and are unfortunately needed to win a Republican presidency in 2012. This will only get uglier thru the election. Stay tuned for the worst assault on the American People’s ability to think and comprehend the media since FDR……
Since all the Left has are lies, slander, corruption and criminality, we can ‘look forward’ to many, many more things like this happening as we approach the elections.
They will say and do absolutely anything in order to reelect Zero. The entire concept of ‘journalistic standards and professionalism’ from the MSM was dispensed with decades ago, and hopefully there are enough American voters who are thoughtful and awake enough to understand that.

CBS News has no integrity at all. First, America gets sandbagged (or is it T-bagged?) by Missie Cupcake and now by Scott Buttercup. Give me a break. Only those with IQ score on the left side of the bell curve actually pay attention to these hacks.

He does say, “I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them someone else’s money, I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn their money”, so I don’t know what HAP was smoking.
CBS’s headline is actually accurate–he did single out black people when talking about entitlements. I don’t know why Santorum felt the need to do that, he could have just said “I don’t want to make people’s lives better…” and just spoken out against entitlements of all kinds without mentioning a specific group of recipients (although an overrepresented one).

Just wait as we get closer to the elections. The Democrats will commit election fraud on a massive scale in order to win for The Great Imposter who will start a war with (probably)Iran which will rally the country around him. Face it, about one half of the country lives on the other half but both get the vote. Execept, the non-working half vote more than once; have the dead and illegals vote; or intimidate anyone whom they think will not vote for The Great Imposter. What was the full context of the topic of discussion? I mean, because, we are told by the MSM and dems/libs that conservatives/republicans are racist for not wanting a nanny state entitlement lifetime (for doing nothing productive for society at the expense of working taxpayers) for generation after generation of minorities, but to help them help themselves and pass THAT onto their next generation.

It does sound like “black”, but it is a bit distorted, which is odd since nothing else seems to be.
It’s not a big deal anyway, as he is speaking about how best to help a minority group that is too dependent, but of course the media will go nuts with it. He said “black peoples lives” clear as day, but my guess is that this response was rebuttal to something said earlier in the meeting as . He stated the current administration said” Iowa need more medicare recipients”, so more than likely his statement is another quote take out of context.

Attempting to ridicule and denigrate Rick Santorum in order to score political points…in a frantic attempt to erase support for Santorum for simply mourning the loss of his baby son – in a fashion that to me acknowledged his being a precious member of a family despite his brief life on earth.

For all of the people who have selective hearing, he said it he did not mention the 84% of whites receiving welfare. The idiot also in a later interview tried to say that he thinks he was making a reference to a movie waiting for superman which was about Black kids which shows he obviously did not see the movie because it was not about black kids, it was about the public school system in America.
