According to its latest annual report, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) received $487.4 million in tax dollars over a twelve-month period and performed 329,455 abortions.
The latest annual report covers the period from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010, the PPFA’s fiscal year. The report states that the organization received “government health services grants and reimbursements” totaling $487.4 million.
Previous Planned Parenthood annual reports showed total funding from “government grants and contracts” (which were $363.2 million in 2009), while this year’s report also accounts for payments from Medicaid managed care plans among the payments the group receives from government.
When compared with previous annual reports, the latest one shows an almost steady increase in the number of abortions performed at its clinics: In 2006, Planned Parenthood did 289,750 abortions; in 2007, it did 305,310; in 2009, it did 331,796; and, in 2010, it did 329,445 — a small decrease from the previous year.

Third, we have made adoption of children extremely difficult in this country. I’ve seen couples do this and what they spend on the effort is appalling.
You want to fix this problem? Start by fixing the adoption process.

Funding abortions is like having someone (that is, taxpayers) pay for my car repairs after I had fun drag racing it….
I have three friends here in a wealthy dfw suburb that were adopted by different family’s from the same orphanage over in dallas. So after surviving the womb and being adopted by very caring families they are all college educated and there are 3 children that play with my kid that would have never been born had their parents been aborted.
My child’s best friend would have never been born.
My older sibling was aborted as well as my wife’s. We see the emotional scars of those actions on our own mothers.

This is, of course, among other things a very obvious and serious violation of separation of church and state… religious (and other) individuals who are opposed to abortion are being FORCED by “the state” to fund that which they’re conscience is opposed to.

*** Yeah, see this in the counties in my area. Adoptions are being held up by ‘children’s services’ and agencies because if kids are adopted out (and babies have little trouble being adopted) from “foster care” the agencies can no longer get state and fed money for them.

For the record, there is a demand for American babies for adoption. The unending waiting lists, red tape, and lack of “supply” (hmmm, 1.2 million?) has couples going into other countries and adopting their babies at 2-3 times the cost, and sometimes losing their money in corrupt agencies over there. Russian babies are even of low health and physical condition because their orphanages are crap, and they put lottie or NO value on “special needs” babies, leaving them in their own waste and starving in their soiled cribs.
Honestly, “you’re better than this”.
