Yes the President’s family deserves privacy in their family matters, but that horse has long since been let out of the barn. It is going to take a long time for society to build up the level of respect for private lives that was once a given.

It is especially egregious considering the public titerring about President Bush’s wife, her hair, her clothing, how she greeted foreign dignitaries. All manner of indignities.

However, that is not to say that the President’s wife deserves privacy in the matter of her public personae. either get out of the kitchen, or endure the heat.
