Report: One-Percenter Barack Obama Considers Purchasing Katharine Hepburn’s Former Connecticut Mansion For $18 Million…
How does this fit in with the White House’s new Obama moniker “warrior of the working class”?
Old Saybrook, Conn (WTNH) — It was rumored that President Barack Obama has considered purchasing the late Katharine Hepburn’s 8,300-square-foot mansion in the posh Fenwick section of Old Saybrook.
Some folks living in the Fenwick section of Old Saybrook were not surprised by the recent rumors.
Marge Taylor says news President Barack Obama may be looking at Katherine Hepburn’s old house is nothing new. She says his daughters Sasha and Malia have already been seen around the neighborhood because Sasha is friends with a girl who’s family has a home here.
“The daughters go by here with their bicycles. They’re lovely girls,” she said.
Whether or not the supposed Obama daughter sightings have sparked speculation the president is looking at the screen idol’s former home is not known.
According to the Connecticut Post, the current owner, New York construction executive Frank Sciame bought the 1938 brick mansion with his wife, Barbara, for $6 million in 2004. They are neither confirming nor denying the rumor.
How does OWS feel about their president being able to afford a house that’s on the market for $28 million?
The entire three-parcel, 3.4-acre property, with 680 feet of waterfront where Hepburn, the legendary movie star, would enjoy daily swims, has been on the market for about $28 million, but the house reportedly could be scooped up for about $18 million.

Having been a credit manager, in my past life, there is no way the numbers add up to anything other than Monopoly money. Hopin’ and a wishin’ doesn’t make it so. If we had an unbiased MSM they would take this ball to the endzone – this may be the only provable scandal that sticks. It is heartening to see him overspend and leverage his own money like he does ours.
I’m sure that if they buy it now, they will then rent a room to the Secret Service at an amount sufficient to make the monthly mortgage payment and then some. Why should they have to pay for their own house when they can get the taxpayer to do it?

Two things:
That area of the country is the favorite haunt for Johnny Carson, Letterman, and you know the drill, all the elitists love the place, and Obozo wants to be among them, his fragile ego needs to be shored up, and this would make him ‘feel’ good.
Also, real estate in areas like this, especially high end ‘estate’ properties, do not lose their value like most properties … if you were an elitist and the country was on a downward spiral into economic chaos, wouldn’t you want to be as close to the pack as you could?

You’re confusing Katherine Hepburn, the previous owner of the mansion, with Audrey Hepburn, also a wonderful actress (a common error).
They were totally different, began their careers in different eras, and won Oscars for their amazing acting. They are both screen legends.
