Judge Denies Lawsuit: Perry, Gingrich, Santorum, Huntsman Off Virginia Primary Ballot…

Alternate headline: Mitt Romney declared winner of Virginia primary.

Via WTVR:

Federal District Court Judge John Gibney ruled against Texas Governor Rick Perry and other Republican presidential candidates who sued in an effort to appear on the ballot for the Virginia Republican primary in March.

Judge Gibney announced the ruling Friday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia.

The suit was originally filed by Texas Governor Rick Perry. Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Jon Hunstman later joined the challenge.

According to court documents, the Republican candidates failed to meet the 10,000 signature petition requirements to get on the ballot.

Mitt Romney and Ron Paul met the requirements.

Yep, why even hold a primary? Give 75% to Rinominnie and the other 25% to the crazy sum bitch.

Go home and shut up Rick. Your homies down here are getting red-faced over your stupid crap. Your ego is overloading your ass.

slightly O/T. but the my local tea party members doing a straw poll
    voted for Santorum. landslide.

out of 53 votes 48 were for RS.

I call foul! They got the required number of signatures….or at least Gingrich and Perry did, I don’t know about Huntsman and Santorum.

    Something is very wrong here.

    How about write in votes?

Screw ‘em. They knew what the rules were. It really doesn’t matter, Mittens was ordained several months ago by the MSM and GOP elite. The only thing this could affect is Crazy Uncle Ron’s 3rd party bid aspirations.

Kathrine, it seems more and more that this entire thing is rigged. Just like the last time things were rigged for obama when hillary was disqualified in some state because the state allowed the people to vote to early.

What surprises me is all the sudden people who I thought were “tea party” are supporting romney.

    @Katherine

they are doing their damnedest to fix this for Mittens the “safe moderate” candidate (that Obama can beat). Oh for this to be the year to collapse the corrupt Primary system. The Judge is an Obama Judge so its no surprise on this ruling.

  10. Teacake says:
    January 13, 2012 at 8:31 pm

And fubar, here in SC pretty much everyone who calls the local talk radio hates romney. Seems a tie between Santorum and Newt.

  11. Xavier says:
    January 13, 2012 at 8:32 pm

    @Katherine

They did not get the required number of VALID signatures. Generally candidates are advised to get 50% over the 10,000 needed to allow for fakes and duplicates.

  12. Kenny says:
    January 13, 2012 at 8:35 pm

Romney is winning everything, everywhere, always.

I don’t believe everything they accuse Gingrich of.

Oh well, get rid of Obama and his progressive lefties, then we can vote someone in to replace Romney that is more conservative.

  13. Bunker says:
    January 13, 2012 at 8:38 pm

    @Kenny

yea that is what gets me in the end. Mittens may be a slimy bastard but at least he’s goal in like isn’t to be a dictator

  14. Teacake says:
    January 13, 2012 at 8:38 pm

Listening to Roger Hedgcock at the moment and a lot of weirdos are calling in support of romney. Do not understand this at all unless they are being paid?

  15. Skip says:
    January 13, 2012 at 8:39 pm

Romney will be the nominee. He will run against Obama and the MSM and it will another election 2008.

The GOP establishment and ‘blue bloods’ would rather lose an election than back a conservative. Problem is…with Obama winning a second term America will never recover from what he will do.

U.S. District Judge John Gibney said in his ruling that Perry — along with GOP candidates Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman and Rick Santorum, who all joined in the Texas governor’s lawsuit — waited too long to file the complaint against the state’s ballot requirements.
    ######################################################
On September 30, 2009, Virginia Senators Jim Webb and Mark Warner recommended Gibney for a seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

On April 14, 2010, President Obama nominated Gibney to the seat that had been created by the retirement of Judge Robert E. Payne, who had taken senior status in May 2007.

  18. bitterclinger says:

The only consolation about the Charlie Foxtrot that is the VA GOP is that our primary is so late it won’t even matter.

  19. houginator says:
    January 13, 2012 at 10:13 pm

It’ll be interesting to see how the VA GOP splits when it is forced to pick between Romney and a single conservative alternative, instead of all these other primaries where the conservative vote has been fractured among 4 – 5 different candidates.

  20. Katherine says:

I still say the true test will be Florida.

Let’s see what comes out of it.

  21. Axel says:

@Teacake it is odd the “Tea Party” is on the Mitt bandwagon. It’s all very strange and it has felt rigged from the git go.

Yeah, we refer to Gibney as Giblets. The whole judge thing is out of control everywhere.

  22. Shadowblitz70 says:
    January 13, 2012 at 10:24 pm

How can we seriously even count this state if thats the case? There arent just 2 people running.

I truly pity anyone who doesnt smell the bullshit going on here. Either Romney & the crazy ass got a nice tip off, or this judge is being paid.
    Probably the latter.

Since when can the people be told who they can or cant vote for in a Primary? Im willing to bet this ruling is VERY unconstitutional.

  23. gastorgrab says:

The rules are meaningless if we ignore them every time they become inconvenient.

They cease to be rules at all.

You DO NOT sign up 10% more people than you need to qualify. You sign up 25 to 50% more than you need.

These dumb asses should have known better.

Romney deserves to win on this point alone. His people get shit done and get it done properly.

Va has rules where only the richest candidates can pull it off in time. And by restricting write-ins they demonstrate they don’t care what the people of the state really think. The GOP (if they were honest and sincere) should penalize them and yank their delegates from the convention. Show them the value of representation.

BUT… the GOP is not honest or sincere, not competent and not going to get enough conservative votes at this rate. Do you REALLY think Romney will get more independent votes than a moderate like McCain? The difference between Obama or Romney is I can still blame Obama&Party for doing the same thing Mitt will do.

the laws are set up so that the free may not have a voice..

the free are institutionally marginalized on purpose..

this is the result of 100+ years of Progressive Revelation..

while Marxist communism ravaged Asia.. Progressive Revelation worked to weaken and dishevel America’s Judeo-Christian Spiritual Armour against the final onslaught of Evil..

I believe it’s too late.. no magic geezer will save us now.. only the words of the Declaration of Independence can rally the truly free to put down the domestic enemy of the ‘ruling class’ that has shredded the Supreme Law of the AMERICAN LAND..

only Individuals acting alone can right the ship
