Obama: “You Won’t Meet Harder Working Folks” Than Those In The Government…
He’s joking, right?
“By the way, you won’t meet harder working folks than some of the folks in these federal agencies. They devote countless hours to trying to make sure that they’re serving the American people, but they will tell you their efforts are constantly undermined by an outdated bureaucratic maze.”

Taken from someone whose only job in the private sector was at a Baskin-Robbins.
HA!
“countless hours”? I can count them. Forty, max, each week that they work.
Funny that government employees can be “constantly undermined by an outdated bureaucratic maze” but that government intrusion into the private sector creates jobs.
Haah. I’ve worked (as a contractor) in several federal/state agencies… hours (and minutes and seconds) are counted quite avidly by the “hard workers” to be found in these slacker farms.
However- if the “federal employee” we’re talking about is soetero, and the “countless hours” are with respect to time wasted on golf courses, you might be on to something.
“countless hours”? I can count them. Forty, max, each week that they work
with two breaks 15 minutes each, 1/2 hour to 45 minutes lunch. not including time to get to and from break room.
work, my ass. i’ve worked a federal job. there are 4 employees sitting around collecting a paycheck while one poor slob runs around and does everything.
2+2=5. Black is white and white is black. Good is evil and evil is good. Up is down and down is up. You are witnessing the Ministry of Truth in our time.
Everything Obama says is a LIE. He is the agent of Satan. He is dedicated to destroying all that is good, including America. He needs to be stopped, by whatever means necessary.
I interned for two different government agencies, one had a ton of slackers and few very hard working and dedicated folks. The other had more hard workers than slackers (however, it was also all engineers and people who had worked in the private sector first). I have also worked for private sector companies full of ne’er do wells and slackers.
There is just a lot of very lazy people in this country who will be worthless no matter where they are employed.
Awesome. Keep talking. It gets better by the day.
Setting us up for another round of taxes and spending.
Time to put this lunatic to sleep.
@Rupaula – you’re right – the difference is in the private sector, those people usually, eventually get FIRED. Not so in a gubmint job.
In grabbermint, the slackers become Supervisors. that’s why they get paid the big bucks.
@P.W.M.-
“He needs to be stopped, by whatever means necessary.”
And by stopped, you of course mean voted out of office resoundingly and/or jailed, correct?
maybe one of the most idiotic statements he’s ever made, and that’s saying a lot. nobody in the private sector will believe that one.
Yeah, like the asshats at the SEC, busy surfing porn on their office computers
while Madoff was stealing billions and the whole system was melting down.
Every time I need to get some sort of information from a government department, no matter state, city or fed… they all work very hard telling me to call another number… round and round and round until hours later you have to give up.
Yes, because when I think of hard working, devoted employees, I think of the DMV.
well, let’s not forget all the long weekends, like for instance, the onc coming up………lest y’all forgot, Monday is MLK day………………….worker bees are happy bees, but I do believe government employees are drones, or drains……….
PART TIME CONGRESS, FULL TIME PRIVATE SECTOR GROWTH, PERRY 2012
Did this press conference come with a laugh track?!? And if the measly efforts of one of his agencies to “cut waste” is any guide, this initiative will also turn out to be much ado about nothing … http://bit.ly/qVdDUt
This from a fool who doesn’t even know how many states there are.
@Teacake:
Hey neighbor!
I had a state job one summer and didn’t even make it past my “probation.” Could not stomach the entitlement attitudes of my co-workers, it was endemic. Some were ok but turned a blind eye to the most egregious slackers and I was expected to do the same. No way.
Working harder at destroying our freedoms and our nation. OBAMA GO AWAY NOW
Does barry even know what he is reading? Or does he just mindlessly ready while simultaneously fantasizing about how he is going to sneak out for a visit to Reggie’s apartment?
When it takes 3 people to lick a single stamp? Un-huh. No way.
Back in 1999, I contact the ATF as to the proper procedure to “de-mil” a Soviet automatic weapon, specifically one of the machine guns from a Soviet T-72 tank.
I’m still waiting on the procedure.
Hard working my ass!
“How many people work for the government?”
“Oh, about half of ‘em.”
I can’t count the times, Mark Levin has read this lazy bum’s schedule on the air.
He is lazy. He does nothing before 9:30 in the morning.
Psychopath.
@Grass Mud Horsey – I mean by whatever means necessary. Can you read?
If you haven’t got the balls to accept the world as it really is, that’s your problem. Don’t try to put words in my mouth. If your imagination is SO SMALL as to assume that my comments are anything but honorable, than keep it to yourself.
Last thing we need is another hand-wringing milk-sucker with comments like yours.
Strictly as a matter of curiosity, I love to see credible poll info to indicate what percentage of Americans are/would be stupid enough to actually believe this. I’d be very surprised if it was anything more than a single-digit percentage.
Yes they work hard in the Military. (Not the upper pentagon brass) they act like Congress. The Doctors and Pilots and really everyone overseas is working more than a 4o hr. week and for peanuts too. I don’t mind paying the Military. THE CREEPS AND JERKS IN DC are the ones who need to be cut. Oblamer won’t cut them because they vote for him. Our servicemen would never vote for him.
Nobody works harder at avoiding work and taking more and more of your tax money.
Because overhead is always more important than production … ? Nimrodism

I guess he hasn’t heard the common sarcastic phrase, “Good enough for government work”. (Really. He probably hasn’t.)
Bureaucracy is a creation and legacy of socialists to keep those with a vested interest in socialism, in power! In the UK, we have privatised companies, who are private only in name; they are still made up of the useless bureaucracies from their previous incarnations as government departments. Staffed with the same lazy incompetent union members!!
Federal offices are filled to over flowing with over paid employees who entertain over inflated opinions of themselves. That being said, however, they hardly work at all. Trust me….I know….I am surrounded by them here in DC.

@deez – you are probably quite right on that!
????
He’s simultaneously praising the same bureaucracy he’s railing against!
????
you must not know all the lazy ass government workers I do. then again how would a do nothing lazy ass presidenti dictator muzzie rat bastard know the difference.
P.J. O’Rourke wrote something like this in Parliament of Whores. To paraphrase, you can’t waste $3.8T per year by loafing. It takes some serious concerted effort.
Why doesn’t Harvard boy lose the little people language-”folks” reminds me of John F’in Kerry-”is this where I get me a hunting’ license”.
Anyone believe this one? Didn’t think so……..

As one of those federal workers, I do take exception to some of the comments…but that’s not to say that I don’t understand. I support EOD so most of our budgets are small relative to the ship and air platform programs. Some of us work 50 and 60 hour weeks. We don’t take 15 minute breaks. I mostly eat lunch in front of my computer. We can’t bill over time usually so we eat the time.
But, there are a lot of folks that are dead weight. You won’t find [many] them in the engineering codes where I reside. They will be mostly in the support codes, like secretaries and the bureaucratic codes. Then you’ve got the ones who try to play the system to make more money, usually those involved with contracts. Every time someone gets caught, it adds more scrutiny. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t be caught, but there’s always going to be the bad guys, but they are few and far between. the ramifications of their actions usually cost the government more than the action itself.
Ack, it’s frustrating. But I have to remember that my job is to get new tech to the guys and gals in the field so they can come home and sleep on a soft bed like I do every night.
But the above is probably the exception since we are in the RDT&E field. There are commands whose sole function seems to be to stymie progress and waste funds. I pay taxes just like the rest of you, so when I see something wrong is chaps my hide too.
Matel-thanks for bringing that up_ I have a couple of friends who were in Homeland Security and FEMA, and they tell me about all the guff they would get when they would work at cutting costs on projects, AND push their coworkers to find savings as well. I think we all know that there are many dedicated public servants in various Depts of government, maybe it’s as
@mojo put it “oh, about half”
Just imagine the government workers who will be working as your health care provider when Obamacare kicks in. Your health will be in the hands of some government slacker. They will decide who and when you will see a doctor and what treatment you will receive.
1 – If Romney receives the nomination he will not defeat Obama…so I don’t know why in the hell he is winning all the primaries.
2 – If he were by chance the President…I am not so sure he would repeal Obamacare.
Not me but many who have voted for and support Romney have blown it for America and the rest of us.
Oh yeah…and that’s why the phrase ‘good enough for government work’ is so well known.
Unfortunately, Obama thinks work means catching a few rounds of golf and then some sleep.
This…..from the golfer-in-chief???
Really, President Obama? So the military, police officers, firefighters and first responders are just slacking off?
Eesh, government workers are lazier than Wisconsin teachers.
With many years in the military, I’ve worked with hundreds of federal employees. A few work very hard, most go through the motions, and a relatively small number only move under their own power (1) at quitting time, and (2) to file a grievance when somebody tries to make them do some work. As long as a federal employee shows up at work (and sometimes not even then), it’s nearly impossible to fire them. As USA Today reported last year, federal employees are more likely to die on the job then be fired or laid off.
