Awesome: “Daily Show” Destroys Liberal Columnist Over Her “Civility” Hypocrisy…
Quick back story, this is the columnist who claimed Tea Partiers were “terrorists” during the debt ceiling debate. Amazingly, she is now leading a project dedicated to civility. You really can’t make this stuff up.

Saw this yesterday on Instapundit.
The disconnect is shocking.
Shockingly, her logic/reasoning/rationale is mild compared to the people sitting on their asses making important decisions on OUR lives while spending OUR money in DC.
I have an alternate theory no one (that I’ve seen) seems willing to consider.
She is going for laughs at her own apparent hypocrisy…yet she’s fine with it. Yet it is not hypocrisy in her mind. She’s your typical communist: fully comfortable with falsely blaming enemies for the exact same behavior they always engaging in.
She knows she’s a hypocrite by conservative standards. But conservative standards are wrong because all conservatives are categorically evil without exception. So she can appear to poke fun at her own blatant hypocrisy because, in her mind, she’s RIGHT. It’s the tea partiers who need to be more civil, no matter what accusations are leveled against them. She, however, does NOT need to be more civil; her apparent hypocrisy is perfectly justified.
That means all the conservatives yukking it up over this are getting played because the whole skit, from Stewart on down, is really sticking a thumb in their collective eye. They’re saying (yet again) “Your standards do not apply to us but we’re more than ready to use them against you…even if we have to lie to do it…and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it because we’ve got the mic.”
That’s my theory, anyway.
The Left, in all it’s hypocritical and arrogant glory. Denouncing incivility while practicing it with great zeal.

@gorgo, I agree with your theory also. It seemed a scripted skit (albeit based on a true story) from the start.
The exact same piece could be done about John Stewart with him being the target of criticism for hypocrisy.

it’s an inside joke.. an a priori understanding amongst the oh so hip and cool ‘beautiful people’ of the elite left..
The cannot mount a reasonable argument against the conservative interest overall, so they just posture from some presumptuously higher intellect as if to have already won the argument.. and words don’t mean anything.. except for what they say..

The hypocrisy is so obvious that it might sink in with the average college-student viewer. It might make some of them entertain an honest thought about the issue.
You couldn’t penetrate that sanctimony with depleted uranium warheads. I hope this twit saw that clip. Stupidity that deep and that dense is an element deserving a new spot on the periodic table.

Kinda surprised seeing this coming from the Daily Show yet, this segment could easily be applied to John Stewart himself. If he wants to spout his liberal nonsense, then let him, but he needs to drop that BS about “Oh, I’m really a moderate” him and the media love to play up.
i think many have opined that she is ‘in’ on the gag. It really does not matter does it? This is what she believes. That is clear.
She is a dolt. A fool who believes her political beliefs, her racial needs, her apologia for her parents and ancestors and nation, transcend reality.

I wish I could agree but I doubt it; a hard-core statist won’t change his/her mind just because one of their own is a hypocrite. Hypocritical accusations has long been one of the main tools in the communist toolbox. You’d be dealing with one of two types: the lower-level, mind-numbed presumptuously hip statist drones (young college types), who are unable to process the true, glaring hypocrisy evident here. The older, seasoned, truly informed communists DO see it but will laugh at you for being foolish enough to think they care.
Remember: EVERYTHING the left does is founded on hatred, derision and deception, including this skit. It’s all they have.

Pardon my original post’s form and length…it was typed in a rush. That video ticked me off mightily, not because of the video itself (it’s to be expected) but because so many conservatives on various sites are falling for the such an obvious setup that is really aimed at YOU AND ME.

Theyre covering up her Hypocrisy, by pointing it out and laughing at it. Kind of like when a little kid scrapes a knee…. if you look at it and scream “Oh my god!!” the kid starts crying. If you start laughing and smiling, you can either get the kid to laugh too, or at least not cry.
Its Jon Stewarts way of covering their tracks. By making light of them. Everything liberals do has an alterior motive behind it.

If you’re a reasonable (albeit dishonest) person, yes, that’s what you’d do.
But if you’re so blinded by your own arrogance, you can actually turn your own hypocrisy into a club with which to beat your enemies…and they applaud your “honesty” for doing it.
There is a natural component of the human psyche that normally abhors hypocrisy. I personally believe it’s part of the image of God. Liberals are an exception. Why? Draw your own conclusions.

Dang straight…how could that lady take that entire thing seriously. She knew she was the brunt of a joke, and she agreed…you don’t go on the Daily Show not expecting something like that.
I’ll contrast that with Stephen Colbert, who interviewed two OWS “spokesmen”. Colbert is definitely left of center, but I can definitely see how Ketchup and her companion could fall for using the Colbert Report as a venue for spreading the word. I wouldn’t call what he did exposing hypocrisy, but rather exposing stupidity.
Okay John Stewart’s stock just went way up in my book. I know I still disagree with 90 percent of his opinions but at least he and his writers are recognizing the other side of the story.
I agree with gorgo, in different people, i guess different parts of the brain are activated more than others (?) You can’t damn these liberals to hell because of it, maybe they’re misguided, they were brought up in the wrong way. They were influenced by their stupid parents, who were influenced by their stupid parents! Outside influences of the wrong kind could mess any person up, honest or not.
The Daily Show is great. Stewart admits he is personally left, but the show makes fun of hypocrisy and stupidity regardless of political affiliation. Stewart interviewed Jim DeMint the other day and it was the best political interview on television in years.

Some of you think she is in on it. I don’t. I don’t think that is the back of her head when he is talking. I’m sure the questions were real as well as the answers. She just did not see his expressions or hear the dramatized responses from him
(or him leaving for that matter). If he showed the real interview, it would look have the same feel, but not as funny. She is a wack job just like the rest of the far lefties.

That goes back to the fundamental deficiency of the liberal mind. Conservatives recognize and acknowledge bias, wherever it is. If one wants to state Fox News skews slightly right – but not as much as most believe it does – most cons will agree. Liberals, though, refuse to acknowledge the decades of left-leaning bias in all media. Why? One of two reasons: either they’re really too dim-minded and incapable of distinguishing the bias (most liberals today) or they know it’s there, using it to their advantage while denying it exists (liberal leadership). One group is composed of brain-dead drones; the other is made up of lying, treasonous communists.
And their votes count just as much as yours.
This is why democracies die.
It goes to show what kind of audience Stewart really has since they didn’t seem to grasp that it is OK to laugh at liberal hypocrisy and stupidity. Stewart has to know that the left is an absolute gold mine of material yet it’s only rarely that his program goes after their side. Sad, really.
If you think the Daily Show are not equal offenders, you obviously don’t watch the Daily Show. It just happens that Fox News gives them more fodder than they can possibly handle.

She didn’t go on the Daily Show. She was contacted by a producer you and I have never heard of, to have an interview with someone whose name isn’t in the title of the show and who can accurately say “I’m from Viacom”.
They used to run a segment just about doing this to congressmen.
