Black Pastors Use MLK Church Service To Blast Gingrich As “Sickening And Insulting,” Urge Reelection of Obama…

This was the same historic church Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett used on Sunday to rip Republicans. So much for that separation of church and state the left loves to whine about.

ATLANTA (AP) — Politics loomed large over the ceremonies held Monday, the federal holiday marking what would’ve been the 83rd birthday of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., as black clergy, elected officials and others tied King’s legacy to the 2012 presidential election.

They urged African-Americans to re-elect President Barack Obama, and condemned voter identification laws they warned are meant to suppress black voter turnout in November.

At Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where King preached from 1960 until his death in 1968, the Rev. Raphael G. Warnock accused GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich of using racial stereotypes to fire up Republican voters. On the campaign trail, Gingrich has referred to President Barack Obama as “the food stamp president” and earlier this month suggested that African-Americans seek paychecks instead of public assistance.

Warnock called Gingrich’s comments “sickening and insulting.”

Warnock said some in the U.S. disrespect King’s legacy by “cutting off those for whom he died and the principles for which he fought,” pointing to voter ID laws that he called “unnecessary and unjustifiable.” He said such laws are an affront to the memory of the civil rights leader, who fought for equal access to the voting booth.”

If they are so damned alarmed about the ID thing, then why aren’t they conducting a huge ‘get everybody an ID’ campaign? They’ve got plenty of time, and it might even create a job or two. Nooo, they are too busy with a ‘dig up the vote’ campaign.

It shows the hypocrisy. If conservatives get up in church and talk about electing someone that is against abortion, liberals are out in full force trying to make trouble for them.

And I still don’t understand how voter id cards suppress the black vote.

Hate to say this but my respect for the black community ends with the age group 60 and under. Its a whole new breed of people since the 50s, partially thanks to the democrat party success at brainwashing people to stay in the ghettos, collect money in exchange for babies, breaking up the family by requiring the father does not live at home with the baby mama who gets the checks… etc.

    Really… you gotta be kidding!

Did they also urge all black women to get abortions?

    @PC
“The Church at Pierce Creek, located in Binghamton, New York (a church where Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry attended at the time), took out full-page ads in the USA Today and The Washington Times newspapers. The ads opposed Governor Clinton for President because of his position on abortion and homosexuality, and then the ads solicited “tax-deductible donations” to defray the cost of the advertisements. The Church received hundreds of contributions.

After Clinton was elected President, the IRS notified the Church on November 20, 1992, that it intended to conduct an inquiry into the Church’s activities. After negotiations with the Church broke down, the IRS revoked the Church’s tax-exempt letter ruling and the Church filed suit to get it back.”

The ONLY thing Newt is guilty of is hitting the bullseye dead-center when he described Barry as the biggest food stamp president in history. Which by the way, those so-called black pastors would be disappointed to learn that the food stamps issued under the current occupant’s time in office went to more WHITES than BLACKS. Thus, using the term “food stamp” when describing the current occupant isn’t “racist” to do so, at all.

What happens to their tax exempt status? Should be taken away if they are politicing from the pulpit.

MLK’s niece was on Fox yesterday, and she is part of the Tea Party. No one mentioned that either!!

Campaigning for the president from your church pulpit? Well, you should have your tax exempt status revoked. You want a voice in our government? Pay some damn taxes, you racist bastard.

It’s NOT ABOUT BLACK, WHITE or PURPLE!!!! It’s about this once great country moving back into world prominence. Obama has ruined that.

    Stop the madness.

    1. Work hard
    2. Save money
    3. Love God and respect your elders
    4. Do not buy into “sermons” preached by those who would divide. Black,White,Yellow,Union, no matter: Do not listen to the voice of dividers but rather those who share your love for this country.
    5. Teach your children to respect and love all God’s creatures.
