Government Rents Port-A-Potties For Occupy Congress Protests, Taxpayers Stuck With The Bill…

America’s taxpayers, already on the hook for watching over the Occupy movement’s three-month seizure of Washington’s downtown McPherson Square, are getting stuck with another bill to cover the police protection and port-a-potty rentals at today’s Capitol protest.
For today’s protest, where several hundred Occupiers toting signs lingered in the muddy grass of the Capitol Grounds, over two dozen U.S. Capitol Police were assigned to ring the lawn, most on foot, some on bikes, and others in 18 cars, buses, and trucks counted by Whispers.
Plus, the government rented 17 bright blue potties from Don’s Johns, which were parked across from the Capitol Grounds and in the shadow of the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial.
The Architect of the Capitol’s office wouldn’t comment on the costs or protection.
But Don’s Johns told Whispers that renting 17 potties costs about $2,100.
A miffed Capitol Police officer told us, “I can’t believe we’re paying for this. But they have no money. They were complaining about parking prices.”

Then put up a sign that says “All proceeds go to the ‘Reelect Obama’ campaign.”

The Tea Partiers would have planned ahead of time, gotten permits for their porta-potties, stocked them fully with TP and hand sanitizer, picked up all the trash, paid for new sod out of their contingency fund, and made a donation to the National Park Police Pension Fund!

I was in Washington DC with 1M of my close personal friends fellow Tea Partiers on 9-12-2009 and when I asked a DC policeman where the Porta-Potties were he said there were none. We had to walk until we found a government building with a public restroom that was open and stand in line for about 30 minutes. We also didn’t try to stay overnight in tents, because on ALL the public parks there are signs that say CAMPING PROHIBITED. The D.C. police seem to be in O.alinsky’s pocket and are following his penchant for making up the rules and ignoring the laws. I’m surprised a mosque hasn’t been erected on the lawn of the White House yet. Imam Barry is probably tired of having to answer the “most beautiful sound in the world” the Muslim call to prayer with his headphones on and kneeling on his prayer rug pulled out from under his bed in the soundproof bathroom. I’m sure MicHELLe is tired of donning the burkah.
