Newt was doing his “college professor” voice when speaking to Juan– since Juan presumed a LOT in his statement to Newt about “belittling poor people”, Newt simply responded as he would to any of his greatly misinformed students to set them straight. People like Juan take great offense at being “educated” by those they fundamentally disagree with. They might want to take a hard look at the messages like those Newt delivered, instead of just robotically dismissing them as “racist”. They also should consider that racism comes in MANY forms– especially by certain politicians that promise (either overtly or COVERTLY) the continuation of government dependency programs without end. Those that do that, without exploring individual potential for self-reliance, are the true “racists”.
