Report: Obama Personally Approved Use of Budget Gimmickry To Hide Billions From Cost Of Obamacare…

Shocker.

Via Politico:

The president prided himself on honesty in his first budget proposal, including the real estimated costs of spending, but Obama later shifted his stance and approved the use of budget gimmickry, according to The New Yorker.

When his aides suggested in late 2009 that he should abandon the honest approach on estimated spending on disaster aid, for example, the president signed off, The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza reports. Obama also approved of fanciful budget numbers on his signature health care legislation, Lizza wrote:

In the December 20th memo, [Obama aides] resorted to gimmickry…On disaster relief, for example, he had estimated that the government would need twenty billion dollars a year, a figure based on the statistical likelihood of major disasters requiring federal aid.

Now Obama’s aides reminded him that Congress had ignored his “ ‘honest budgeting’ approach,” and perhaps they should, too. They proposed “$5 billion per year for disaster costs.” Obama drew [a] check mark.

The White House could also save billions by fiddling with the way it presented savings from Obama’s health-care-reform bill. Check.

Obamacare is as bad as creeping shari’a. And it would seem Republicans in the House are complicit in its implementation:

    http://cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-orders-catholics-act-against-their-faith-bishops-call-it-unconscionable

(CNSNews.com) – The Obama administration on Friday finalized a regulation that orders all Americans—unless they work directly at a church–to purchase government-approved health insurance plans that cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives including those that cause abortions.

The regulation further requires that health-insurance plans must provide sterilizations, contraceptives and abortifacients without any fees or co-pay.

    …

The regulation will go into effect on Aug. 1.

In December, the Republican leaders of the House of Representatives negotiated a continuing resolution with President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Senate that allows the administration to fund implementation of the regulation. That CR, which funds the government through the end of fiscal 2012 (which comes on Sept. 30), expressly denied the administration the funds to carry out some regulatory activities but did not deny it the funds to carry out the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient regulation.

The only great move Mr. Obama has had is what we call a movement and is usually done in the bathroom. But he does it on the nation.

    @Jimco,
Goes without saying, but there is a reason for that too. It is all about deconstruction of faith in general. A sort of religious apartheid, if you will, especially on the Judeo-Christian belief. You can not have love of “State” if you have love of god and country.

The biggest take away from that little bit of news is that there are Republicans in the House who are complicit. They are not attempting to repeal or defund. They are collaborating for its’ creeping implementation.

“In December, the Republican leaders of the House of Representatives negotiated a continuing resolution with President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Senate…but did not deny it the funds to carry out the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient regulation.”

I only just heard that mentioned on the news this morning. Thanks for the link. Though I was very disappointed to only read “Republican leaders of the House of Representatives negotiated a continuing resolution with President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Senate…..”

I assume that means Boehner was part of it, but who else rolled over? The article just left me wanting more detail.

What astounds me is how obama can possibly think pissing off nearly every single remotely Christian person in the country, or even the non-practicing people who take a moral stand, will be compensated by liberal voters showing up to vote for him. The negative effect goes waaaaay beyond just Catholics. Considering the number of self-described “conservatives” in poll after poll, the math just does not add up.

Maybe this will be just another decision that he will back out of eventually, giving the left his usual “Well, I tried” while blaming the reversal on right wing opposition.

Maybe he knows that pedophiles can’t vote so he has no down side to snubbing the pope.
Wake up, there is not one bit of difference to any of them. No incumbents can be voted for, there are only 3 senators who didn’t vote to sick the military on us all.
Has there been an openness meeting not in a restricted access forum? Everything they do is transparent, you can’t see it at all till it is to late, and you people thought they meant you would see what is going on. No wonder they can count on your vote.

It looks like the only difference with saddam, is a bronze of his butt, but if an artists charges enough they will order one of our ass as well.
