Obama: Bush Bailed Out Detroit, I Saved It…

Bush lent the auto companies $17.4 billion, Obama bailed them out to the tune of $85 billion of which $26 billion will never be recouped.
Comments & pings are closed.(Washington Examiner) — President Obama today asserted that President Bush was responsible for bailing out auto companies in Detroit. Obama, on the other hand, implemented dramatic changes that saved the industry.
“Keep in mind,” Obama said, “That the administration before us, they had been writing some checks to the auto industry asking nothing in return. It was just a bailout, straight — straightforward.
Obama explained that he “demanded responsibility” from the auto industry, forcing it to “retool and to restructure,” making it “more efficient.”
“Over the past two years, that entire industry has added nearly 160,000 jobs.” Obama continued, “GM is number one in the world again. Ford is investing billions in new American plants. Chrysler is growing faster. So today, the American auto industry is back.”

Of course the 26 billion will never be recuperated. barry illegally stole it from senior citizens living on fixed investment income, aka the secured bond holders.
Give the money back, barry! Or shut up about being a “warrior for the middle class.”
I thought Bush bailed out Detroit in his final days as a specific request from the future Obama administration.
Does this guy’s bullshit balloon ever land?
Tell it to the GM bondholders.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein
Speaking of Einstein: If you run, around a tree, at the speed of light, 185,999 miles/second, there is a distinct possibility of F@#*king yourself.
Or, you can vote for Obama to obtain the same exact results.
@Dapandico
Now that was funny.
Chrysler imported from Dearbornistian.
Yep makes me want to buy one.
The Kenyan screwed the bondholders, wasted our money and the UAW from its own stupidity, but the news reports indicate that new UAW demand for more money are on the rise and when GM tanks a second time we can auction off the rubble and put paid to the UAW.
As for Chrysler, I buy Jeeps and frankly I think they could have survived on their own or purchased by Ford or Honda. Chrysler cars suck.
Screwing your own wormhole is just wrong, Dapandico.
From 1978 to 2006 I purchased GM. In 2010 I purchased a Hyundai. I did not leave GM, they left me.

Correct and Cheney mentioned it in his book.
Funny, GM is the only car model I have never owned
And now, I never will…
Barry, you REALLY don’t get the whole “consumer industry” thing, do ya?
Come on…..Barry stomped on investors and taxpayers to bail out his union buddies. Everyone knows that.
L1/2BS knew the union member would vote for him but he was nor sure about the bond holders so he saved the union not the bondholders
Saved it my ass!…wait a few months till the union theives run through with the damn tax payer money you gave them and you will see just how damn “saved”they are ……….you sorry bastard………….
Barry is so fucking stupid, he can’t even lie convincingly. TNB.
To hell with Chrysler and GM……..if you buy them , you support democrat unions……….buy a car made in the south……just as good , maybe better….
The last five cars I owned were Toyota’s!
I just purchase a new 2012 Ford Explorer. This would be the first American car I own in many years. The only reason I purchased the Ford was because they did not take any Obama money and it was my way to congratulate Ford.
If Ford decides to take money from the government I will sell the Explorer and buy another Toyota it’s that simple.
I have three boys and I will make it my mission that they never buy another GM product.
Why is this jerk-off mentioning Ford? Ford didn’t take any bail out money. Nothing this a-hole did enabled Ford to “invest billions”. They likely would have done that regardless of what Barry did.
Wasn’t Ford strong armed by the Unions and the administration to stop running the ad that Ford didn’t need a bailout?
Obamanocio his nose gets longer everyday
“demanded responsibility”
…holy crap. Why doesnt he have a shot at running a car company. What does he think they do there. The UAW pried GM’s cold dead hands off of profitability long ago.
recycle detroit
Folks this has nothing to do with saving GM!
This only has to do with saving the unions.
Unions give Obama Campaign Money.
Obama gives tax-payer money to pay off unions.
Obama gets second term.
Obama doesn’t need the Unions anymore.
Union workers work 35 years after retirement find out that the pension is bankrupt!
Union Bosses, Obama and other politicians are enjoying there retirement with more money that they can spend in two lifetimes.
Union are like condoms….they give you a sense of security while you’re getting F&cked!!!
don’t forget how obongo screwed over the secured creditors of GM. These creditors took less interest because they would get paid out first in any bankruptcy. jugears ripped up those contracts to make the unions whole.
When you wonder now why banks aren’t lending as much as before, think of the secured creditors.
A bit of a difference between a bailout and a money pit.
And who in their right mind gives a floundering company $85 billion after they were lent $17.4 billion ?
@Julescat – Same as the Tax Payers are last in line for the Solyndra bankruptcy.
The only reason GM is temporarily #1 is because Japan (Toyota) was nailed by an earthquake, a tsunami, and a nuclear meltdown.
And…Lucifer drives a VOLT.
