Senate Dems Want To Rename Obama’s So-Called “Buffett Rule” To The “Romney Rule”…
Why not the “Kerry Rule”? He’s richer than Romney (thanks to Teresa) and only pays a 13% tax rate.
(WSJ) — As they say in politics, branding is everything.
Senate Democratic leaders suggested Wednesday that the so-called Buffett Rule should be renamed the Romney Rule, after GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romneysaid this week that he paid less than 15% of his roughly $20 million in income in federal income taxes in 2010.
The proposal — dubbed the Buffett Rule by President Barack Obama — a nod to billionaire Warren Buffett who famously said his tax rate was a lot lower than his secretary’s, and that shouldn’t be — would require households earning more than $1 million to pay an effective federal tax rate of at least 30%.

@DanlBoone – I can’t afford toilet paper. I am now using the junk mail that is keeping the USPS in business. Postage Paid Envelopes work the best & you can recycle them by dropping them in the nearest mail box.

So does the Buffett Rule raise capital gains taxes to 30% for people making over $1,000,000? And when/if they do, you can bet that all those “patriotic millionaires” will be running screaming to their tax attorneys and accountants to find a way to lessen their burden. It isn’t the average Joe that is keeping the Tax Bar in business.

right now I’m arguing with the state gov over ~12k in unemployment benefits from ’09- ’10
I had drawn a little bit of it and it ran out. I rec’d a mailing about Obama’s much publicized extensions. I didn’t re-apply. I get a phone-call telling me to apply for extended $ -I kid ya not- local gov hired extra to push those funds out-
I told the person that I didn’t think I would have any further benefits avail even tho I was still re-organizing (out of work, kinda complicated)
The lady told me in no uncertain terms, that yes, yes Mr. Boone, you need to re-apply..
now, they want the $ back.. no fraud or anything on my part.. they just screwed up so…
and there’s a heck of a lot more of that going on that I knew. I’ve since heard of several people in the same thing..
