Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman was the only local politician to greet the president when he landed in her city this evening. “Their encounter appeared far more cordial than the one the president had with Gov. Brewer in Phoeniz,” according to the White House pooler. “POTUS and Goodman kissed, chatted and wrapped their arms around each other’s backs. She walked him to the limo and they kissed again before he ducked inside.”
No other local figure competed with Goodman for Obama’s attention. “I think everyone is trying to protect their positions,” Goodman said to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, to explain the lack of politicians greeting the president.

Our politicians and hideous president are fighting tooth and nail AGAINST us. They are fighting AGAINST Americans and the voice of the American majority. This is traitorous. What I find even more despicable is the media – they are having an absolute field day with all the anger and unrest. They provoke it, they stoke it, they don’t give a rat’s petard about the lies they spew and encourage, the uncertainty, joblessness, fear and hopelessness we are experiencing. The newscasters sit there and stir it all up knowing they will collect THEIR paycheck at the end of the month. They could care less about the America people who are suffering mentally and physically because of this destructive president and his policies. Their smugness, blatant GLEE at the panic and helplessness the American people are experiencing – the seniors, the families – they just sit there and smile and spout their manipulative rhetoric without a care in the world. Americans are trying to fight back and all we get is the rug pulled out from under us at every turn. I can’t think of a word vile enough for the media and for politicians. I doubt there is one.
