@Zip- In regards to Drudge, it would seem that some in what we call “Conservative media”, are at times put under “pressures” by Estabs in the party. However, people who overlook, or dismiss Newt’s major flaws, are doing so at the peril of possibly losing this election. While I believe a “ham sandwich” could beat Obama, I also lived through the Newt era, and there is some fire where there is smoke. It could be a problem.
Most everyone knows the Democrats wanted Newt out, and all that mess was nothing but fake charges against Newt, and many of us wanted him to stay, and fight. However, one also has to ask why did he not stay and fight, and why has he not done more to grow Conservatism in the country. His books, his speeches, and all his internet activities have not had much of an impact IMO. The Tea Party is what caught fire, not Newt’s ideas. So where was this Conservative warrior for the past 20 years?
It could be Drudge sees problems, and was exposing them because Newt is not as Conservative as what he claims. IMHO, what Drudge did is no different than what we will see when Obama would go after him, in fact, it will be worse.
To me, what Drudge did is no different than when Red State went against Sarah Palin. Conservative media has their own opinions, and at times it bleeds out for all us to see. See Chatsworth Jr. and the Daily Caller.

That’s an accurate assessment. Newt was lackluster, Crazy Uncle Ron made a couple good points, as usual, and pandered to the Cubans in the audience. Mitt was just a complete dick. Santorum had a few golden moments., and gave his best performance since NH.
CNN won by steering the debate into R vs. R warfare instead of allowing it to be directed at bs.

I’ve suspected that for quite some time.
Santorum tends to be negative and pessimistic. The constitution was never intended as a format for christians to launch their own agenda. The religious references in the constitution were intended as a contradiction to what was christian controlled Europe for many centuries. A good example might involve books. In Europe the church dictated what books were acceptable and books were usually for the upper class. In America Ben Franklin opened a library. Books and information were for everybody. This was a total contradiction to many centuries in Europe. Who knows, when the colonials went down to the local whore houses they may have wanted to read something other than the bible. Of course the christians have done away with most of the whore houses. Now a days, it seems that people mostly just want to fuck politicians.
