Vice President Joe Biden praised House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., as one of the most important House Speakers in American history, and comforted the caucus that lost the majority under her leadership by saying that they “really did save this country.”
“There’s not a single, solitary thing on our agenda that would have gotten done without your leadership,” Biden told Pelosi during a speech to the House Democrats. “Those decisions you made, the risk you took, the losses we incurred, really did save this country,” the vice president added, to the whole caucus.
