Obama: People Don’t Get Rich On Their Own, They’re Successful Because Of The Federal Government…

He’s about as clueless as it gets.

(Fox News) — President Obama tells a college audience that people don’t get rich on their own. Obama’s point that without government and paying your fair share, ultimately the successful wouldn’t be able to get where they are.

“We do not begrudge wealth in this country. I want everybody here to do well. We aspire to financial success, but we also understand that we’re not successful just by ourselves,” President Obama said at a campaign event in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Friday morning.

“We’re successful because somebody started the University of Michigan. We’re successful because somebody made an investment in all the federal research labs that created the internet. We’re successful because we have an outstanding military that costs money. We’re successful because somebody built roads and bridges. And laid broadband lines and these things didn’t just happen on their own. And if we all understand that we’ve got to pay for this stuff, it makes sense for those of us who’ve done best to do our fair share and to try to pass off that bill on to somebody else, that’s not right. That’s not who we are,” he said.

The two major thoughts in Obama’s head-

    1) Goverment is the answer.

    2) It must be someone else’s fault.

Therein is the defining statement concerning Obama.

He truly believes that the Government creates success and that private business creates poverty.

It’s a pretty simple choice we have this November.

The THREE major thoughts in Obama’s head:

    1) Government is the answer;

    2) It is someone else’s fault, whatever it is; and,

    3) It’s all about me! Me, mine, me, me, what about me, hey, it’s me, so cool I am, I am, me.

The simple error — of grand proportions, yet a simple one to identify — in Obama’s unreliable assertion as to “people being successful because of the federal government” is:

he relies on industries that were created by and have become successful due to private enterprise for his present-day funding, advice and rigging, now that he and the rest of the Dems have these industries and enterprises ensconced in federal government bureaucracy. They would not now exist had there not been private enterprise that created them, simply put.

This one assertion alone by Barack Obama surely identifies him as NOT the smartest guy in the room, on the block, in the town, nor in the country. Listening to him is like listening to a very poorly done comic book being read aloud.

  17. Katherine says:
    January 27, 2012 at 1:25 pm

What he and Warren ignore is that people and particularly businesses have been paying taxes for all these things, all along. If it weren’t for their taxes none of these things would exist, including the Federal Government!

It’s really because Barack Obama has always been supported by — his entire existence has been reliant upon — someone else, something else, some foundation, cause, grant, “silent scholarship” or otherwise a lot of money to fund his existence that just appears by way of some sort of bureaucracy (grandparents money, mother’s “ford foundation” salary and grants, silent pays for his elaborate educational sprees, etc.).

That’s actually true for Democrats. They join government to make their fortunes. Serving government gives them a perfect opportunity to create opportunities for friends and family.

A simple rule change could put a stop to this though. We should no longer allow them to profit from insider trading.

So he can stop with the circle jerk egg-chicken argument. It all starts with somebody creating something somebody else wants to buy or trade for at a cost equitable to both parties. Check in with the cavemen. They’ll tell ya it was that way back then, too. One cut wood and traded it for a stegosaurus haunch.

Yeah, all the easements, permits and right of ways that those broadband installers have to get before they start digging. Let’s not forget about all the subsidies and incentives that the Federal government supplies to make a project a financially viable. That’s on top the R&D to create the technology that comes from publicly funded schools and grants to private companies.

Are people so angry with the President that they can somehow justify denying what he said?

I suppose someone could become wealthy if he was isolated from all the intellectual infrastructure in place due to government spending. But that person would be an anomaly.

Why aren’t all Americans as wealthy and successful as Bill Gates? Because there’s only room for a few Bill Gates in every generation. We celebrate the wealth and success of the Bill Gates type because they are the exception, not the rule.

If one looks at life only through the narrow template provided by the stifling ideology of the modern Conservative, it would only make sense for that person observing through that template to take a good look at himself and wonder why he is posting on an internet message board and not creating the next big innovation.

But, apparently, that template only allows criticism of the President and not personal introspection.

Our country is in serious trouble if there are still idiot racists out there that think Obama is a communist but can’t provide one communist agenda he has supported.

Obama is of course stating the obvious, but apparently it’s not obvious to everyone.
