DNC: We Never Used Extreme Rhetoric When Bush Was President…

Reality seriously begs to differ.

(RCP) — DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse speaks to MSNBC’s Martin Bashir about RNC Chairman Reince Priebus comparing Obama to the captain of the wrecked Italian cruise ship.

Woodhouse says he never remembers anyone going after Bush during his presidency the way Republicans are attacking Obama. Woodhouse said Democrats never equated Bush to a terrorist or as someone who had committed manslaughter.

“Many Republicans will say didn’t democrats attack George Bush in exactly the same way. what’s your response to that?,” Bashir asked Woodhouse.

“I don’t remember anything that equates from official Democratic Party. I mean, of course there are interest groups and people have their say, but I don’t remember anything coming from Democratic Party about George W. Bush being equated to a terrorist or George W. Bush being equated to somebody who has been accused of manslaughter. I don’t remember anybody questioning some of the things about George W. Bush that have been questioned about the president. I don’t remember an opposing Governor wagging his or her finger in president George W. Bush’s face,” Woodhouse said.

The Dims having blaming Bush for three years. Under Bush, JSOC was routinely smeared by the left and placed at the center of many Bush/Cheney conspiracy theories. Specifically, New Yorker reporter Seymour Hersh alleged it was Dick Cheney’s personal assassination squad:

“After 9/11, I haven’t written about this yet, but the Central Intelligence Agency was very deeply involved in domestic activities against people they thought to be enemies of the state. Without any legal authority for it. They haven’t been called on it yet.”

Who is going to pay for the damages when some Mexican or some black man burglarizes the house or commits some other crime? Not the democrats, not the republicans either. It is a lie to suggest the republicans represent racism because it would be very easy to change the racial laws. Racial groups have complained for years that they are represented. The political parties could not afford to pay for all the damages so they will never admit to making poor decisions.

he late “Lion of the Senate,” Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., falsely accused Bush of lying us into the war in Iraq: “Week after week after week, we were told lie after lie after lie.”

Then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., called Bush a “loser” and a “liar.”

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., the 2004 Democratic nominee for president, in speaking about the Bush administration told union supporters, “These guys are the most crooked, you know, lying group of people I’ve ever seen.”

Former Vermont Governor and later Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Howard Dean sought his party’s 2004 nomination for president. Not content with merely accusing Bush of lying to take the country to war, Dean suggested that Bush had prior knowledge of the 9-11 terror attacks but allowed the death of 3,000 Americans to create a rationale for war. On National Public Radio, Dean said: “The most interesting theory that I have heard so far, which is nothing more than a theory, I can’t think — it can’t be proved, is that he was warned ahead of time by the Saudis. Now who knows what the real situation is.”

Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., accused Bush of purposely responding sluggishly to Hurricane Katrina. Frank called it “ethnic cleansing by inaction,” a “calculated … policy” to induce displaced New Orleans residents to leave the state, making Louisiana a more solidly red Republican state. Frank said, “So by simply not doing anything to alleviate this … crisis that was so greatly exaggerated by Katrina, they let the hurricane do the ethnic cleansing, and their hands are clean.”

Trashing Bush became a sport to them. Who could be the most vulgar, belligerent, hateful. It was accepted behavior, expected, routine, an everyday activity, like wiping your shoes on a door mat.
Insulting Bush was the favorite past time of the libs when he was in office.

Bush conducted himself like a gentleman in the face of all that abuse.
That’s the way he handled it.

Yes, thanks Rubella. Since we can’t count, no one here would have noticed that he said “I don’t remember” four times in his statement. We also didn’t notice Woodhouse’s very specific examples of “manslaughter” and “terrorist”. Bush may have been accused of lying, treason, murder, war crimes, and looking like a chimpanzee but at least the Dims never officially said he committed manslaughter.
