Obama To The Taliban: No More Fighting After 2013…
Pack them up and bring them home, no American should die on the battlefield if we’re not there to win.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Wednesday that the U.S. combat role in Afghanistan will end in 2013 while troops will remain in the country in a support role through 2014, The Associated Press reports.
“Hopefully by the mid to latter part of 2013, we’ll be able to make a transition from a combat role to a training, advise and assist role,” Panetta said, according to the AP, adding that this wouldn’t mean that “we’re not going to be combat-ready.”
He noted that no decision has been made about how many American troops would stay in Afghanistan in the post-combat stage, but did suggest that large reductions will occur in the months following the switch, the wire said.
Panetta made the remarks to reporters aboard a military aircraft en route to Brussels, where the issue of accelerated withdrawal from Afghanistan is expected to be on the agenda at a NATO meeting.

We sould have pulled them back the instant Obama said that we were going home by 2014. With that single statement he rendered the war unwinnable, because it told the population they couldn’t rely on us, and it told the Taliban all they had to do was hang on for another couple of years.

President Obama declared today that he will definitely pull his head out of his ass by 2014. He said this is just another reason to elect him.

Chris Matthews was not available for comment, but he was noted to be licking the president’s hand in apparent ecstasy.

Too bad Panetta didn’t fall off the ramp to that aircraft,,,while it was at 30,000 feet. He and hussein are trying to sign a death warrant for troops left in Afghan-land – so if they are attacked they can’t fight? Their safety depends upon other Afghans who KNOW they have been abandoned by us?
