U.S. Military Report Says Taliban “Poised To Retake Afghanistan” Once NATO Forces Withdraw…

In other words, we’re just delaying the inevitable.
Comments & pings are closed.KABUL (Reuters) – The U.S. military said in a secret report that the Taliban, backed by Pakistan, are set to retake control of Afghanistan after NATO-led forces withdraw, raising the prospect of a major failure of Western policy after a costly war.
Lieutenant Colonel Jimmie Cummings, a spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, confirmed the existence of the document, reported on Wednesday by Britain’s Times newspaper and the BBC.
But he said it was not a strategic study.
“The classified document in question is a compilation of Taliban detainee opinions,” he said. “It’s not an analysis, nor is it meant to be considered an analysis.”
Nevertheless, it could be interpreted as a damning assessment of the war, dragging into its 11th year and aimed at blocking a Taliban return to power.
It could also be seen as an admission of defeat and could reinforce the view of Taliban hardliners that they should not negotiate with the United States and President Hamid Karzai’s unpopular government while in a position of strength.

Just like the NVA, they knew America would tire and then they win.
Lesson – no war should ever be fought without the goal of complete and total victory (which involves tearing up all their shit and killing all who oppose). No more nation building!
Should have read, “unexpectedly”.
Once NATO Forces (read that US Armed Forces) surrender, Afghanistan AND Pakistan will unite in the Islamic War against civilization.
Add to that Barry’s Pan-African Caliphate, and world will never be the same.
The Obamanation; murdering AMERICANS for his moslim brothers!
But vice pezzydent Icy keems says the taliban ain’t not our enemy n’ stuff… so whycome dey do dis to us?
Even Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder saw this coming.
Joe Biden will buy them a coke and sing in perferct harmony.
Don’t think for one minute that this isn’t already happening.
Pakistan has told us to eat shit and die; we heard this week that Pakistan was 100% complicit in hiding bin Laden, and for sure, the Pakistani Taliban and the Afghani Taliban have already merged forces.
They are just waiting for the ok from Obama.
The new Pashtunistan alliance will be formed and they WILL be an enemy of the USA… with 100 nukes.
The last thing Pakistan wants to it’s North is a functional country able to defend itself. If it did it would not have free reign to foment unrest with it’s other neighbor India.
Put Allen West-a realist, Robert Spencer- Islamic/Koranic test expert, Daniel Pipes- historian and Bill Warner–critical thinker and statistical expert on Islam in charge of policy. They will be brilliant , simply explaining that the reality of our enemy must become our own. Every American should know what these scholars know, especially our bravest that are sent into harms way.
You can never-ever change them. It is indeed a clash of civilizations. Pipes will simply tell you that I care not what they say–I document what they have DONE.
Every country and culture that has freely allowed Islam in is no longer free

This is one of the few areas where Ron Paul is right… “No more undeclared wars!”
We can thank Harry Truman for the concept of undeclared wars beginning with Korea. Another is LBJ’s Vietnam (where I spent some time) and so on.
The very idea of not having a total victory as a minimum goal is just plain ludicrous and an insult to the folks that serve in the military.
Such can never be achieved when every serving member in the military goes to war with a hand tied behind his back…
@ GrumpyOne…
Declared or undeclared, the truth is that we are already in a war.
The War with Islam.
Until people understand this, we are doomed to end up like Europe…. infested with muzz and no way out.

I want permanent bases in Afganistan. …drones.
The last thing I want to see is a “Khe Sanh” redux on steroids. Our troops are quite literally surrounded by bad guys, and if Pakistan goes round the bend on us completely and joins the bad guys, our troops would have one helluva long hard slog to fight their way out. And then there would be a Dunkirk at the end………..
I’ve taken a lot of flak since our foray into Afghanistan and Iraq. I said early on Iraq would descend into chaos and the Taleban would wait us out, just like the Vietnamese. Reminds of one of ‘Murphy’s Laws’; “There’s never time to do it right but always time to do it over”. When will we learn?
