RAMALLAH, West Bank (The Blaze/AP) — Israel must halt settlement building and present detailed proposals for a border with a future Palestinian state, visiting U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday, as he tried to persuade the Palestinians to continue low-level meetings with Israel that the international community hopes will evolve into serious negotiations.
Ban praised Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for his leadership and publicly backed him on key issues, including the demand for a freeze of settlement building on occupied lands the Palestinians want for their state.
With Abbas by his side, the U.N. chief affirmed that “all Israeli settlements are contrary to international law and prejudice” the outcome of a final peace deal.

I think its time for the Israelis to state: “See all that land from the Dead Sea to the Mediteranian? Well thats Israel, according to the League of Nations, according to the UN, and won through a war we didnt start. If you got a problem with that, then go shoot yourself, because you are the ones who made those laws, and the ones who should enforce them.”
Israelis (ie Jews) were promised all of the land from the Dead Sea to the Mediteranian (by Britain who controlled it, by the League of Nations, AND by the UN). Its not their fault that Arabs (mostly Muslims) threw a fit, started a war, and lost (ok, many wars…that they lost). There has been no approved change to the original mandate that gave the Israelis (again, Jews) all of the land, because they were rejected by the Arabs, not the Israelis. Its time Israel made the UN do its job, or very accurately point out its absolute irrelevance and do as they see fit (which I do think should include some deportations of illegal aliens).
Time to move the U.N. out of NYC and to Palestine.

@Thor, the “international law” is pure revisionism, warped, spun, & twisted takes on resolutions & laws about gained territory — but a fair look at the full written & historical contexts shows building residences are not contrary to such law (for ex, Res 242); unfortunately, Israel often hurts herself by using terminology & expressing opinions that hurt themselves, thus contributing to the myth of “occupation” & “illegal” “settlements” in the “West Bank”

There is no such thing as “International Law.” It is nothing but a web of often contradictory and overlapping treaties between two or more countries including various UN treaties. Want to piss off a liberal when they start bleating about “International Law?” Ask them quote the page or code under “International Law” where the act was supposedly illegal.
