    A rather self-righteous move. Just remember folks, PP, is NOT about money.

    Good for him- he decided exactly what charity his money was going to. That is always my issues with non-profits, when they accept donations, then help fund another charity. I have donated to both PP and Komen, stopped when I discovered that Komen was donating to entities outside of their organization and mission. PP donations ended when they became too political and abortion centered.
    I think there is a shelf life to non-profits- after about 10 years or so, they become a self-perpetuating organism, focused on the employees empire, rubbing shoulders with wealthy donors and funding pet organizations.

    Good, throw your money at infanticide, just don’t demand we do the same.

    btw, all PP does is refer patients to other facilities for mammograms, they do not offer them on site. So why do they need piles of money for this lip service? Seems to me a modest advertising campaign would suit the purpose, fliers, billboards, FB. Why do “underserved women” have to go thru PP? This bunch is nothing but a front to take over womens healthcare and become the sole provider under he11care.

    Didn’t PP shell out big bucks for a new building in NYC.

    @vagabond:

    I am not sure how all states are set as far as the funding goes for covering women who are under insured or not insured.

    From my limited perspective, it would almost seem as if some states work hand-in-glove as it were with PP to provide them business.

    For example, at the time when I had been looking for additional help to defray costs (which I ended up relying on a Catholic Charity) there was a loop hole in the state that would more or less funnel women to the PP, if they were not informed or knew of no other health clinics to go to.

    In the State of WI there have grown several non-profit, fully volunteer staffed-run medical clinics. They have no ties with PP. They operate soley through donations of money and volunteer time. They are staffed with physicians, PA, NP’s, etc. They are busy places.

  21. Hickster says:
    February 2, 2012 at 3:56 pm

    What I am saying, is that the laws of health care in some states, by default, channel women for all their health needs to be rounded up with the PP. Years back when employed with a County in MN it seemed that’s the way things operated there. It was an “odd” set up. The medical clinic where I worked began getting snarled into the affairs of PP. They had a tangle of it to be undone with them.

    I do not see that as right. Medical facilities, especially not county or state run, should not have to be entangled with PP

    Just saying

    Know exactly what you’re saying, it is disgraceful! What I said above is exactly how they will reel many of us into their net. One of the many “issues” he11care “reform” did not address and it is no accident. Single pay is their goal, power and control,being forced by the state to abdicate our right to make independent healthcare decisions.Once that is achieved, then the real coercion to abort that clump of cells begins. Choice my rosie bumme! :-)

    Hope you got what you needed from CC.

    He’s angling for a position in Obama’s next administration.

    Or, he’s planning on running for President in 2016.

    NYC should be ashamed, but… they’re probably PROUD of him.

  25. Hickster says:
    February 2, 2012 at 4:07 pm

    @vagabond:

    Since I had been employed with the place, that did provide the Charity, they went above & beyond. Total kindness and care. I have been exceedingly grateful. Without that, I am unsure how it all would have worked out. As far as the necessary hysterectomy, that was a time lapse not covered with CC nor insurance. I am still paying out of pocket on those expenses going on the 6th year. But VERY SOON that will be all paid off! Yippee.

    Yes. The PP is a forerunner of all the he11care to arrive. It is a lead in. The terrible thing with the place I mentioned in MN (Which I may not have this story correct) but because of it NOT wanting to further entangle with the PP, they were More or less harassed to the point the Obstetrics department of the small hospital was closed. Sure, there is an awful lot more to this, but none of the PP putting it’s nose into it helped any.

    “Planned Parenthood, on the other hand, said the reason is due to Komen feeling pressure from anti-abortion activists.”

    ===========================================
    @vagabond:

    It’s peculiar how PP there in CT has that idea, if they don’t have as their main source of revenue due to abortion, than why would they say that. I mean since there is, apparently, investigations into them from Congress and such. It seems to be an indication right there, that the most important aspect of their “business” is related to abortion services.
