Hollywood Stars Shovel Cash Into Obama’s Campaign War Chest…

President Barack Obama has made plenty of enemies in Washington, but he can still count on his friends in Hollywood.
A-list movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith and Melanie Griffith shelled out for Obama’s campaign in the last three months of 2011, according to federal filings released earlier this week.
Among the host of other Hollywood donors who ponied up for the president: Peter Fonda and his daughter Bridget; Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon; Richard Dean Anderson, who’s best known as “MacGyver;” Ed Harris, Tate Donovan and Hilary Duff of the Disney Channel’s “Lizzie McGuire” show.
Wendell Pierce, who played William “Bunk” Moreland in the HBO drama “The Wire”, soap opera star Deidre Hall and Jada Pinkett Smith are among the other actors who helped the Obama campaign haul in a hefty $40 million in the last three months of the year.
It’s not the first time stars have opened their wallets for Obama. A slew of other famous actors including George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Sharon Stone and Alec Baldwin lined the president’s campaign coffers earlier last year.
Michelle Obama attended a fundraising event in Beverly Hills this week packed with Hollywood insiders that brought in nearly $1 million for her husband’s re-election campaign, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Have to make a complete list and refuse to see their movies at the theater or buy their DVDs/Blue-rays. If enough people do this, it might have some impact on them, but I doubt it. In any case, none of them are especially outstanding in their field.
Again folks, it’s our fault. If you buy their products or go to the movies they get their cut. Hell, even renting or watching re-runs on the movie channels they get their cut. Hollyweird is controlled by unions. I have read where professional golfers are the most conservative out of all sports figures. The last DVD I bought was ‘The King`s Speech” last year. I don`t plan on anymore DVDs in the near future. I`m an 8 year member of Netflix, and mostly rent/watch British or Australian dramas anyway.

FYI – there are a lot of legally free old movies available at Internet Archive – look under Moving Images. There’s lots of other stuff too, like propaganda films and old time radio. Although it isn’t modern, I’ve found most of the great stories have already been told, and many of today’s movies are just updates of old classics.

We just rented “The King’s Speech”. It was a great, uplifting movie without the usual leftwing horseshit. We also liked “The Queen”, more because of Helen Mirren. She may be a leftwinger, but she was graceful and thanked Queen Elizabeth II for her years of unwavering public service. The same thing can’t be said of any of the elected Democrat shit now in office.
