    Seriously, on a policy basis I see no difference between Obama, Newt, or Romney.

    Bud -

    The way I see it is that given the choice of the three, Newt’s a no-brainer.

    He’s at least willing to fight, will articulate conservatism, and at the very least is “establishment gone rogue.”

    Santorum is the most socially conservative, but seems hell bent on continuing in the neo-con tradition of nation building.

    I won’t lie – I support Newt because he pisses the right people off.

    It looks like it’s going to be Mittens, but I found this column to be extremely uplifting.

    I am so friggin’ disgusted with the way the Republican Party primary system is set up. No real choices, no listening to the voters. Just totally disgusted. Mitt Romney as the nominee for God’s sake? Is the Party just totally corrupt or totally stupid?

    This is a Republic run by the citizens? Bullshit.

    Well, the way I see it Obama, Newt, and Romney are self serving big government socialist pretending to be moderates with Obama pandering to the left and Newt and Romney pandering to the right. I don’t care what any of them say, their records clearly show what they are about.

    Something has to be done about the order of the primaries….I’m so sick of the nominee being decided before my primary date. (Super Tuesday)

    I’ve also been waiting to hear the backlash of Mittens telling Santorum ‘It’s nothing to get upset about’. If that isn’t evidence of how out of touch Mittens is with the general public nothing will!!

    It has nothing to do with how much $$$ Mittens has vs everyone else, it’s all about Liberty and the Gov’t forcing us to enter into a contract with a private company that the government defines!

    See http://www.marklevinshow.com/Article.asp?id=2386959&spid=32345 & listen to the audio for that day.

    And in other news, the New England Patriots have defeated the New York Giants in Super Bowl XIVI.

    Based upon the coin toss, pollsters and pundits have declared the Patriots the winner . . .

  7. NWMN says:

    @woz

    I hate both the Pats and the Giants….I’ve heard more about the Dem Presidential primary than I have about the Super Bowl.

    Bud-

    Since you made a point of saying “I don’t care what they say” and brought up “records,” what EXACTLY in Newt’s voting record says big government progressive?

    I’m not the biggest fan, but since you chose to lump him in there with Mittens, I’m curious as to what Newt’s voted for that has enabled that particular agenda.

    I’ll fight until I sweat blood to prevent a second Obama term, no matter who the nominee is. But I believe Newt has the best chance of beating him and is the most likely to be loyal to conservatives once he’s in office.

    Bud’s an obvious Paulbot. Nothing of substance there, ignore him.

    Newt seems to fly off the handle and overthink things.

    I’d prefer Santorum.

    I am NOT a ‘Paulbot’ that guy is a complete fruitcake.

    @Bumr50

    Well, I am lumping ‘publically supported’ and other jobs in with ‘voted for’ since he hasn’t been in office for a while. Here are some highlights:

    - Cosponsored the 1987 Fairness Doctrine
    - Voted for an amendment that would create a National Police Corps.
    - Voted for sending $1.6 Billion in foreign aid to Russia.
    - Voted for the single largest increase on Federal education spending ($3.5 Billion)
    – Supported Federal tax dollars being spent on abortions.
    – Supported proposal for mandatory carbon caps.
    – Says if he were in office, he would have voted for the $700B TARP bailout.
    - Was paid $300,000 by Freddie Mac to halt Congressional reform.
    - Defended Romneycare.
    - He’s a paid lobbyist for Federal ethanol subsidies and suggested that flex-fuel vehicles be mandated for Americans.
    - His book said that he believes in man-made climate-change and advocated creating “a new endowment for conservation and the environment.”
    - Was supportive of individual health-care mandates.

    By no stretch of the imagination is Newt a conservative

  13. NWMN says:

    @Bud

    So who would you support?

  14. sb says:

    @ Milton Wolf

    God Bless You! There are those of us who are 100% behind you.
    Is Barack Hussein Obama really the biological father of barry? Enquiring minds want to know!

    Regarding the Republican nominees…..

    It is mathematically impossible for there not to be a major financial collapse in the very near future. Given that, one has to contemplate, what kind of person would even want the office of President of the United States?

    I can not believe I am saying this, but, Go Newt!

  15. Bud says:

    @NWMN

    I am not supporting any of them. Since Ronald Reagan the Republican Party has served up Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush, and McCain. Not one conservative in 24 years, and McCain and whoever this one is could easily be classified as liberal. F@#k it, I am not going to bother voting. Why should I support a Party that has abandoned everything? Seriously, I don’t see Obama as being any worse than Romney. Yes you can come up with nit picking details, but looking at the big picture they are both going to spend money like drunken sailors and trash the constitution and ultimately the country is going to fail, and I am not going to support the architect of the destruction just because he pretends to be a conservative.

  16. Rodger says:

    Anyone who does not see a difference between Obama and anyone else is simply too closed minded or is incapable of rational thought.

    A win by Obama would mean at least 2 SCOTUS appointments and that would give us 20 plus years ahead of us living under his liberal policies, worse because the SC is not overturned.

    Second a win by Obama will mean getting the Senate back becomes even more difficult and holding the House as well will be hard.

    Politics is not a game of purity of position. Its a continuum from left to right and at any point on the line there are less and more conservative on either side of that point. Conservative is a philosophy, not a set in stone position.

    God save us if republicans/conservatives waste votes on some nitwit with no chance to be elected or just don’t vote and return Obama to the Wghite House.

    Do you really think any of the R’s that have been/will be served would try to fundamently transform America?

  18. Bud says:

    I see no difference whatsoever between Republican and Democrat politicians other than who they pander to. Voters are so busy voting against the other ‘team’ they don’t worry about the piece of shit they are supporting.
