Report: Syrian Regime Releases Al-Qaeda Mastermind Behind 7/7 Bombings From Jail In Warning To The West…

The CIA should have never handed him over to Syria in the first place. Gitmo or a shallow grave would have been a better idea.

(Telegraph) — The alleged terrorist mastermind behind the July 7 London bombings is reported to have been freed from a Syrian jail by President Bashar Assad’s regime.

Abu Musab al-Suri had been held in Syria for six years after being captured by the CIA in 2005 and transported to the country of his birth under its controversial extraordinary rendition programme.

But he is now said to have been released as a warning to the US and Britain about the consequences of turning their backs on President al-Assad’s regime as it tries to contain the uprising in the country.

Al-Suri, also known as Mustafa Setmariam Nasar, was al-Qaeda’s operations chief in Europe and has been accused of planning the London bombings, in which four British-born terrorists detonated three bombs on the Underground and another on a bus, killing 52 people and injuring more than 700 others in 2005.

In a statement released after the attacks, al-Suri said: “[In my teachings] I have mentioned vital and legitimate targets to be hit in the enemy’s countries … Among those targets that I specifically mentioned as examples was the London Underground. [Targeting this] was and still is the aim.”

A mechanical engineer, he is also wanted in Spain in connection with the Madrid train bombings in 2004, which left 191 dead, and for links to an attack on the Paris Metro in 1995.

A judge has also ordered his arrest with other members of a Spanish terror cell that helped prepare the way for the September 11 attacks in 2001 on New York and Washington.

With his red hair, green eyes, pale features and trimmed beard, Syrian-born al-Suri was able to easily pass as a European and plot some of al-Qaeda’s worse atrocities.

Married to a Spanish woman, he spent three years in London in the 1990s, before moving to Afghanistan to run two of Osama Bin Laden’s terrorist training camps where he began experimenting with chemical weapons and set up sleeper cells in Europe.

While in this role, he conceived the plan to attack the London transport system and may have met some of the British-born suicide bombers led by Mohammad Sidique Khan when they are believed to have visited terrorist train camps in Pakistan.

Al-Suri, who had a £3 million US State Department bounty on his head, was reportedly captured in Pakistan in November 2005 and handed to the CIA.

    I didn’t finish reading the article. How old is the guy? Maybe he has been behind the scenes farther back than what’s been realized? Who knows.

    Seems to be no shortage of such.

    btw: what ever happened to that one fella that was over in Pakistand or Afghanistan, somewhere there in the ME, that hadn’t been seen/heard for a while? I can’t recall the name. He was civilian.

    A Take No Prisoners policy would avoid problems like this and the libtards could close Gitmo too.

    The next terrorist they capture in Pakistan should receive the OBL treatment. This policy makes absolutely NO sense. WTF did they think would happen when they sent this human garbage back to Syria?

    @Xavier, we need human intel in a bad way these days, so normally I would agree with your idea, but keeping some alive for info is important in stopping things.

    With Gork on this guy needing the UBL treatment. If not shallow grave, the deep water treatment is just fine.

    We are about to reap the wild wind for the idiocy, and anti-American stance OUR current overlords have.

    @freeus

    You’re right. Waterboard ‘em first and then cap ‘em.

    I know human intel is critical, and one of our weak spots right now. I’m just sick of this catch and release crap, and civilian trials, and crippling our military with ROES that are insane. We go to war to kill people. Let’s get on with it.

    You talking about the American ex-Marine visiting his grandma in Iran? He’s been sentenced to death for spying for the CIA. 1/9/12. What could be scarier than having to rely on the negotiating skills of this administration?

    Of course there is still the American soldier being held by the Taliban. We can send in Seals to rescue an American with a Danish mission, who shouldn’t have been over seas in the first place but we can’t get a soldier back after 1 yr of secret talks with the Taliban?

    p.s. and reminder that Obama is negotiating the release of five from Gitmo to islam-land. Can’t remember Qatar, Kuwait and oh yeah, we get one of their finest from Yemen – Salah al-supposedly-sick.

    They should make a mother of all prison ships, float it in international waters, catch the terrorists, gather the info on board, with whatever means nessessary, then OBL them, 24-48 hours is all thats needed, after that most of the info apart from a few names is old and no longer useful. remember we must respect their culture, and this seems like a really good way to respect it, by using their culture and their intel gathering tools and methods. be careful lefties what you demand, there are those of us who will give it to you, just not the way you want.

    @ Hickster…

    You might be talking about Adnan Shukrahjima… a bigtime terrorist and danger to us all.
    Last I heard, they thought he infiltrated the US through Mexico, but no one really has good info on him.
    For all we know, he is getting a paycheck from the taxpayers for working in the Obama administration as the Terrorism Czar.

    Guilty decision for a terrorist should mean a slow meat grinder or a bullet to the chest where the scumbag slowly bleeds to death. Why are we being nice to these vermin where compassion is unknown to our enemy? These people are at war with us. The American President is on the side of the Muzz and wants their blessings BECAUSE HE IS ONE! and anybody who can’t see this is just a fool.

    +1 to Infidel’s idea May I suggest though that we introduce some international court types to the facilities first? Thinking the international waters meme, and UN types, and Code Pink types, etc. will scream we were in international waters, and our excellent floating info gathering folks might be subjected to all sorts of insanity if these people are not scared shitless, and therefore will not be out and about creating tomfoolery.

    Beyond the terrorists, beyond the obvious bad guys are a whole other group of people that I personally would like to see on this ship. I am beyond fed up with those going after CIA, alphabet types, who have operated at black sites under the orders, legal orders, of our former president. I want to see cover blowers, some from the NYT, and a few Congress Critters and their aides on this ship of Infidel’s because they have over the years done just as much damage, and caused deaths of OUR people equal to a Taliban, or AQ jihadist. It is way past time for the traitors of this nation to meet their Maker. But that is just me. :)

    @myrtle and Rufus:

    I looked back to this info. That’s the guy I was thinking of:

    @Rufus: Nope, wasn’t thinking of him. But that’s one to keep an eye about.

    @myrtle: Not sure I had heard about that Marine guy. Yes, that Bowe (isn’t that the name)? I still wish we could send Mr. A+ sniper to rescue him! But a SEAL is surely capable!

    :)
