Retiring Blue Dog Democrats Say Pelosi Reason They’re Leaving Congress…

Thanks, Nancy.

Via Politico:

In 2010, Nancy Pelosi starred in $75 million worth of negative ads that helped Republicans win control of the House and wrest the speaker’s gavel from her.

Now, the relative handful of moderate Democrats left say the fear of a rerun helps explain why so many of their breed are headed for the exits and why others ignored the pleas of party leaders to make comeback bids in 2012.

Three of the four leaders of the moderate Democratic Blue Dog Coalition have announced that they will retire at the end of this year. The latest to leave is Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.), who got a country butt-kicking when he ran against Pelosi for House Democratic leader after the last election.

The argument, made by several sources who called POLITICO without solicitation, goes like this: Even if a moderate can withstand a bad lot in redistricting, raise millions of dollars and overcome ads warning of a second Pelosi speakership, his voice will be ignored in the next Congress.

“What I think is really lost here is a lot of the retirements were preordained the minute Nancy Pelosi decided to run again for speaker,” one retiring centrist said in an interview last week.

Too bad about Heath Shuler packing it in. He has been a rare Democrat in supporting American workers by border and workplace immigration enforcement.

I told you all, conservative, moderate dems, JFK type dems have no place in the demonRat party anymore.

And the interesting thing is, is that only 20% of dems really consider themselves very liberal, close to 40% are conservative/moderate.

Most of us aren’t switching to republican, we’re switching to independent, which is why the number of independents have gone up a lot, number of dems gone down, and number of repubs gone up. Not the cocktail repub types, but more so the tea party repub types, reagan dems have a natural home in the Tea party, most of those people are blue collar, or small biz owners and employees.

Explosive new book: JFK’s dark affair with 19-year-old WH intern
In a new tell-all book, “Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with President John F. Kennedy and Its Aftermath

” now-69-year-old Mimi Alford writes candidly about her eighteen-month affair with the former president, starting when she was a 19-year-old White House intern.

A review by the New York Post summarizes some of the explosive details of the book, including Kennedy taking the intern’s virginity, pimping her out to “first friend” David Powers while he watched, forcing her to take drugs, helping to put her in touch with a then-illegal abortion doctor during a false-alarm pregnancy scare, flying her to Washington from her all-girls school while his wife was away and, in a dark moment of weakness during the Cuban Missile Crisis, admitting that he would rather see his children “red than dead.”

Throughout it all, they never kissed. “The wide gulf between us — the age, the power, the experience — guaranteed our affair would never evolve into anything serious,” Alford writes.

First spotting Alford in the White House pool, Kennedy instructed Powers to invite her to a party that evening. After Alford had drank a number of daiquiris, Kennedy gave her a “tour” of the White House, where he took her virginity in first lady Jackie Kennedy’s bedroom.

“The fact that I was being desired by the most famous and powerful man in America only amplified my feelings to the point where resistance was out of the question,” Alford writes. “That’s why I didn’t say no to the president. It’s the best answer I can give.”

“On one excursion, she met Vice President Lyndon Johnson,” the Post reports. “When she told the president about the introduction, he lost his composure. ‘Stay away from him,’ he commanded, likely worried that Johnson could use knowledge of the affair against him.” (RELATED: New tapes reveal that Jackie Kennedy believed LBJ was behind JFK’s assassination)

The book, available nationwide, is likely to stir controversy, shifting public attention to dark aspects of the former president’s legacy. There has been no word from serial Kennedy biographer and MSNBC host Chris Matthews about how future renderings of the Washington “Camelot” legacy might accommodate Alford’s disturbing presidential portrait. (RELATED: MSNBC’s Chris Matthews: Why his brand new Kennedy book is different)

19, they were all defeated or retired in 2010.

LOL, I can believe it. The anger comes when you feel you’ve been lied to all these years. I don’t even think the repub establihsment understands what the TP did. Most of the events I’ve been to are middle income people, they want a strong middle class, strong educational system, a strong manufacturing, strong military, strong safety (NOT welfare) net.

Now, I don’t agree with some of the tea party things, like completely getting rid of public education, but I agree with getting rid of the unions that run it so bad teachers can be fired, and bringing that money more locally, and having more competition, like charter schools.

But the demonrat party itself’s voting bloc is contrary to its supposed goals, so when they state they want a strong education system, yet are beholden to teacher’s unions that protect bad teachers, why should I believe what they say their goals are?!?

and this thinking is what the TP exposed a lot of independent minded dems to. the solutions are there, and yet the dems block it, so then the only conclusion an independent minded person comes to is that they are lying about their goals in the first place.

ANd its easier for a former lefty to argue against current lefties because they know the trap that’s been set for them, in terms of how their thoughts are misled and manipulated.

Fail. #Occupy Protesters Heckled Outside Super Bowl
Posted by Jim Hoft on Sunday, February 5, 2012, 9:51 PM

Fail. Only around 50 Obama-endorsed #Occupy protesters turned out today to protest the Super Bowl in Indianapolis.
They were heckled by spectators who told them, “Get a job!”
    Reuters reported:

A small group of about 50 activists marched to Lucas Oil Stadium where the Super Bowl will be played later on Sunday to peacefully protest Indiana’s new anti-union “right-to-work” law.

Indiana on Wednesday became the 23rd state in the nation and the first in the U.S. industrial heartland to adopt a law allowing workers to avoid paying union dues at unionized businesses.

Supporters led by Indiana’s Republican Governor Mitch Daniels have said it was necessary to attract jobs to the state. Critics including Democrats and unions called it “union busting” and have said it would lead to lower wages.

The small group of protesters walked peacefully the five blocks from downtown Indianapolis to the stadium, although the demonstrators were heckled along the route by some of the people they passed.

“I think they need to get jobs,” said Jeff Eichler, who was visiting Indianapolis from Baltimore, Maryland.

I’ve a secret…my greedy, nasty uncle/godfather found it out when he died.

All the stuff he revered and stole, especially from corpses (not necessarily corpsmen, though he was a former Marine) went to his daughters (my cousins), who both despised him. He was a Milwaukee cop who became a multi-millionaire…and his older brother, my dear dad who sponsored him into the Milwaukee Police Department, died in 1994, after having to retire on a $453/month pension with no Social Security.

Any “potty mouthed” comments directed towards here are well deserved. She is the she-devil of the lunatic fringe, she is an advocate of the most horrendous crime in the world — murder of an unborn child — and she is a lying, evil harridin.
