(HuffPo) — The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee signaled Thursday he intends to keep investigating the American Muslim community despite a report this week that showed the number of Muslim extremists arrested for terrorism is on the wane.
Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), said he would resume his controversial hearings on radicalization among Muslim-Americans this year despite critics who say the focus on one ethnic group fuels bigotry and paranoia.
The chairman also said the committee would hold hearings on Islamist money coming into the United States and on “Iran’s intelligence services, proxies such as Hezbollah, and its ally of convenience, al-Qaeda; and the looming Iranian terror threat to the homeland.”
King will also continue his probe of leaks to a Hollywood filmmaker of classified details of the raid to kill Osama bin Laden, as well as about operations at the detention center at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, saying they “could endanger the lives of our intelligence officers and special operators, their families, and the homeland.”
Previous hearings led by King last year on the same topic awakened a storm of controversy, with critics questioning whether Congress should single out a specific minority group as a possible threat to national security.

Until I hear them say that Islam is the problem, not radical or extreme, or any other hyphenated-Islam, but ISLAM, I will still consider this to be nothing more than a political theater show.
In fact, for all we know, it’s real purpose is to give CAIR something to whine about.
If you look at the Press coverage of King’s committee, I’d bet that there are at least an equal number of “CAIR protests” articles as there are actual reports on the hearings.

I admire Mr. King very much for his courage and perseverance in pursuing this mission – the safety of our country depends on it. ALL Americans should be thanking him instead of criticizing him.
Thank God for Peter King’s continuing efforts. It is another channel to help the public get more chances at some of the truths, too many of which are not yet exposed to the vast American and Western public.
Sadly, too many of the public is yet apathetic, self absorbed, ridiculously so.

What about their unholy book itself, Congressman King? I am very disturbed by it. Does a country not have the right to question the bigotry and hatred espoused in the mooslum unholy book? I don’t like the parts that say to kill me. It seems to me that people who would read and support such a thing are my enemy. Perhaps the issue of mooslum immigration to America should be addressed with immediate restrictions and subsequent denial, I hope, after the book, the founder of the totalitarian ideology, its history and the current state of human rights, especially womens’ rights, in pisslamic countries today are considered for the sake of national security?
No other “religion” divides the world into us and them. No other “religion” plots the domination of “earth” through political and physical warfare. No other “religion” active in the world today has theocratic governments but pisslam. In fact, there are no FREE pisslamic countries. And mooslum organizations throughout the world are actively seeking to impose speech restrictions on others for criticizing or even questioning pisslam. It’s all just B.S. They are all in it together. We don’t need anymore stinking hearings. Islam=Enemy. Period.
If King is going to do them the least he could do is bring in the big guns like Geller and Spencer to make it interesting.

+1 to Rufus and Axel, but baby steps guys. How would we even be able to go about this at the moment. I look at this as laying a foundation, and in the meantime, Americans need to wise up. Most people have no clue who CAIR, or ISNA is, and they need to know why we would be tossing people out of America, and why we are dismantling mosque. Hell, even most in Congress have yet to get a clue.
I pray for King’s safety, and for him to keep the pressure on CAIR, etc.
